  1. You can spin it anyway you want lore, but on most forums such as mmorpg and massively, the word is out that it's just not that good even after the redesign. I'm sorry, but that's just the word out there. The few and far in between enjoy it, but those are the ones who enjoyed the original version too which was absolutely horrendous. I admire yoshi-p for his commitment to redesigning the project, but you can dress or rename a turd anyway you want and it's still just crap. I'm glad you are passionate about the game, but don't try and spin it as if 99% of the population who tries the new beta enjoy it when it's probably closer to around 20%. Mmorpg, massively, and other gaming websites. go to them and read the discussions about the beta, it would seem that most people are not impressed with anything other than the graphics.
  2. You are obviously a fanboy. I have the CE of ff14 and it was, hands down, the single worst MMO i have ever played. It was that bad. Due to the fact I have the CE and can get the FF:AFF free when it drops, i've kept an eye on it. on the mmorpg forums, they are shredding the game. Calling it a complete disaster and that its setting the mmorpg back 10 years. It will not do any better than it did originally. Not saying SWTOR is perfect (because im a pvp sub who's unsubbed due to lack of commitment, caring, and content from SWTOR), but FF14s live in a glass house and just want to milk some more subs out of people who are convinced that because ff14 was redesigned that it has to be better, being 4/10 better is still an improvement over 2/10, but it's still a piece of trash. They only want the sub to make back some cash lost in the original design and redesign, let's not forget that while they are bashing f2p, that their product was so bad that they couldn't charge a sub fee for almost 18 months after launch due to NOBODY sticking with their bad product.
  3. I hear so many people, including alot of my former friends, complain up and down about the CS. However, I have filed quite afew bug reports and tickets in this game. My customer service has always been absolutely exemplary. I don't know if its just the luck of the draw, but everytime I needed something fixed in game the CS 100% delivered above and beyond what they had to do. I am being serious when I say the CS is amongst the best I've seen in any game, from my point of view.
  4. Me playing better isn't the issue. The issue is what can be done to prevent so many backlogged games? We all hate joining a wz that's been long decided before you get in there because someone couldn't stomach the last few minutes of a match.
  5. It isn't like the punishment I suggested was too harsh or perfect, or even the right answer. All I know is that lately on PVP servers, it has become absurd. People don't even wait until the game is half over to quit. As soon as both nodes are captured or enemy has the huttball, it's not uncommon to watch 1-2-3 people leave before the game is even decided. It isn't any fun to back fill a wz thats already decided, even if we are thrown a pity medal for it. I don't know the right answer like I said, I just know that it really has gotten completely out of control lately. It isn't like they track the win/loss ratio or anything in regular wz's. You get valor. Why has it spiraled out of control so badly in the last half year?
  6. I was one of the people against it initially when discussed post launch, but recently people quitting wz's on pvp servers has become somewhat of an epidemic at 55. Rotworms have the ball! 2-3 pugs quit the team before they score. That was just an example but I'm sure most of us have seen it. Lately it seems that half the warzones I get into, i'm backlogged into one that someone quit out of early before the game even got started. Yea, they are giving us a medal for filling in the backend of a match soon, but that doesn't solve the problem of people getting away with just queing and leaving wz's as soon as the initial capture/fail happens without playing it out. Maybe some kind of stacking debuff that resets once a week for every early quit. 1 min before you can que the first time, 2 min the second, etc. stacking up until 10 min. The time it would take the wz you quit to have ended. I dunno, I don't want to punish people for quitting but it has really gotten out of hand lately.
  7. I hate to be the bearer of bad news here, but nothing that comes from the cartel market is hardly exclusive or one of a kind. I have no problem with them bringing it back every gree event. Founder title, razer crystals, and other one time event items should stay like that as it shows appreciation by them to us for staying around, but come on cartel market items? Anyone with a credit card can own one so whats the big deal with them reusing it?
  8. I'm also curious on it's drop rate. It's been the rarest item in game since launch, but I have recently seen a wave of them on my server. Bought one for 18m on the GTN. Still seeing 2-3 of them up for 20-40 million. Did BW up the drop rate for them in the expansion or is my server just seeing a wave of luck?
  9. Well, i love the balance in SWTOR pvp and even with the new abilities balance remains fantastic. I give them alot of props for them, they deserve it. However, waiting until october for new content is just too much. I'd really like them to switch 2.4 with 2.3. PVE has seen plenty of love this expansion already (even if it is recycled, but that's another issue altogether..)
  10. More valor ranks is hardly the solution for more pvp content. Quite the opposite. It was just an example of how little dev time PVP saw since f2p. New valor ranks take all of a lunch break to think up and another lunch break to code in, so to me I feel like we got absolutely zero dev time this expansion. Not even programming in the courtesy of new valor ranks shows the lack of commitment of the pvp team. Such a waste of potential since i really do love the pvp in this game and outside of leveling is the best part of SWTOR, imo. With ESO, EQN, GTA5, wildstar and new consoles all coming this year... 2.4 in october seems like too far away to make a difference. Alot of the pvp crowd will have thrown up their hands and given up by then. Hell, most of the best pvpers i've known in SWTOR have already left since launch since a pvp sub is basically a 2nd class sub.
  11. I appreciate the dev reply, unfortunately it sounds just like more excuses which is what he said he didn't like to give. There is no excuse for nearly a year wait for more PVP content. How can we believe your team takes pvp as seriously as PVE, when we didn't we even get new valor ranks for an expansion? That would have taken all of a single lunchbreak to code in.
  12. Thats part of the issue honestly. I don't want it to go back to where pve gear is useless in pvp since I prefer skill > gear, but with so little content for the pvp subs like myself at the moment and nothing coming in sight until too late down the road, pvp gear is basically the only content we got with the expansion, and now it loses a whole lot of it's luster. The main issue is, and has been, the lack of pvp content and the slow time it's released.
  13. I would definitely like to see something be done to make pvp gear more of a priority in wz's. I'm not asking that PVP gear become so one sided that without it you may as not que, but what is the incentive to get the best PVP gear when PVE gear is superior stat wise even for pvp even without the expertise? Skill should play a factor, make the entry level sets easier to get for all I care, but the same player with max PVE gear vs his clone in max PVP gear should lose that fight. Outplaying them should be a factor, but make no mistake... not having pvp gear in warzones should be a disadvantage, however small. WIth how little development time, attention, and content as the PVP crowd has seen since f2p and going forward, why take away the last main incentive (besides fun) for pvp by making it almost obsolete to PVE gear in wz's thanks to bolstering?
  14. we did. many times. vocally and loudly. Ever since the first video of space combat was shown.
  15. PVP gear, even the early tiers, were and still remain incredibly easy to get. A dozen or so warzones and you will be set. PVE players who couldn't take the time to get entry level pvp gear should have been rolled to some degree. The entry level pvp gear made it so if you outplayed the other guy, you win. Simple as that. Now, with bolstering as bad as it is at 55 it seems kinda silly to grind top tier pvp gear when I could just do PVE or heck, buy greens off the GTN and be nearly just as effective. I'm not asking to make it so you are unkillable in pvp gear vs someone who isn't, but what they have now is decimating the incentive to pvp other than fun. Keep in mind that unlike the PVE community, the PVP crowd has been neglected almost to death by BW. The only thing we have seen in EONS was one mediocre wz in december. We didn't get a crumb of dev time for the expansion short of the pvp gear, which now as I explained is almost a moot point. Maybe the real fault is that BW has yet to give pvp players any content what so ever this expansion. All I know is what is currently in place isn't enough. One small wz every 18 months and having to wait a year into an expansion for pvp content isn't cutting it. I love SWTOR, but I don't see my pvp sub getting me anything short of cartel packs. The PVP dev team is incredibly slow at releasing content and fixing bugs and has allowed the PVP community in SWTOR to more or less die of neglect.
  16. It isn't close to the same. Being able to clear story mode, or a daily hm wearing PVP gear was one thing. But you didn't see anyone rocking PVP gear at the top end of PVE, which is what is currently happening with PVP. We see people with full greens rocking as much expertise as someone who's grinded a full pvp set. PVP already has so little in content right now compared to PVE, de-valueing the PVP gear basically kills the one incentive to do PVP other than the most important one which is fun.
  17. I think we all want the SSSP to be all it can be and remain hopeful. The way the ships all have gear slots could create room for alot of possibilities in terms of PVP as well. Do you want to be a bomber, heavy shielded unit, or pure fighter pilot? etc. My only gripe with it is that it's a year later and we know as much today as we did at this point last year, just 'that its real and awesome'. I am just worried they will drag their feet too long on it and that it will be too late by the time it releases. ESO, EQN, wildstar, gta5, and new consoles will all likely be out before the SSSP. Will the SSSP be enough to lure people back?
  18. Watch it just be a single player 3d version of their current space missions. If it doesn't have pvp included in the sssp, it will be dead on arrival on day 1. They need to work double or triple shifts this summer and get it released ASAP. ESO, EQN, Wildstar, GTA5, and new consoles all arrive this year. Now isn't the time to be super secretive about anything. Show us a preview, even if it's just alpha. Show us it's real BW. You have been telling us it is awesome for over a year now without showing us so much as one awesome video or awesome screenshot. Too much competition this year for them to be taking it slow this summer.
  19. I really like the SI armor shown here. Maybe it was pulled back to release at a later date with UV or whatever effects put on it?
  20. /bump. this has been a minor gripe since launch. Not game breaking or a big deal, but every now and then I can't help but notice it. Would be cool if it got fixed
  21. SSSP with pvp, swoop bike racing, pod racing, pazaak, holo chess on ships, player housing (How is that not a day 1 thing for f2p with all the heavy instancing? And the way the cartel market is set up, its almost begging for player housing). Fun content at endgame to do solo or in groups that feel like star wars, and not just que for pvp or raid /yawn.
  22. Who you should feel sorry for is the PVP sub. We bought an expansion with not a single crumb of development for us, and now are told to wait until october. PVP in this game is amazing, fast paced, action packed and fun as all hell.... but their dev team doesn't seem as passionate about SWTOR as the community is. One new wz every 18 months isn't cutting it. Is the SWTOR pvp team just down to Gabe now or are they pocketing EA's money and running to vegas every weekend? Because it isn't translating into the game for sure. How you launch your first expansion, and totally ignore half the community, and then tell them to sub for a year post expansion to get the content (2.4) we should have had at makeb's launch. I love SWTOR, but I unsubbed for the first time since the game launched because the direction it is going is not a good one. Recycled content, more boring dailies, cartel packs, more raids that 5% of the population does is not what I consider good content. Pazaak, swoop bike racing, SSSP, new class chapters, multiple new wz's, multiple new fp's and ops. These are things that are content. With the way instancing works too, I really don't see why we don't have player housing yet since it seems all but childs play to add it with instancing so heavy.
  23. Actually that would make sense. On their network, they can monitor you extremely well and know if you are into something you shouldn't be. It would be easy to disguise a USB card as an authenticator, or some other small keychain object, and try to steal/download secret documents. Think about all the special collectors edition USB cards that are given out now a days, they are right to be wary of any and all foreign objects. Gaming on their computer would be a slap on the wrist by your boss for not working, bringing in an object that they don't know if they can trust or not becomes a matter of national security at that point.
  24. If I had to guess, it would be something to do with the IP not matching up. Maybe someone stealing internet from their neighbors or something /shrug. IMO, just download an authenticator and just put it on your smartphone. Forget carrying one on your keychain as it can be easily lost (I actually had a blizz authenticator stolen from my home by a geeksquad chick once lol). I hope you find a solution as it is complete garbage you gotta jump through that hoop every log in.
