  1. Hmm kinda subjective but.... My favorite combo would probably be the rule of two: a Jugg tank and a Sorc healer. Both are my personal favorite for each role on their own and seem like a natural fit together. Second would probably be the gank squad, stealth combo. Assassin tank and operative healer. Pick and choose when/who you want to fight and when to sneak past. Plus if things get hairy you both will get an ability to stealth out of combat. You could go the suitFOE route and roll double bounty hunters. Powertech tank and Mercenary heals. Though this may get boring while leveling pve as you'd have to see each of your class story instances twice - one for you and again for your friend. Same would be true if you both went inquisitor (Sorc heal and Assassin tank) You'd also need to enable "allow same class story" in social preferences as well if you want to join each other on those class missions. Of course any combination of tank-heal is going to work extremely well together, there really isn't a bad combination that doesn't compliment each other. They're all fun. One thing though, in case you may have forgotten. The Agent (operative) and Bounty Hunter (PT and Merc) will start on one planet, where the Warrior (Jugg) and Inquisitor (Sorc and Assassin) will start on a different planet. So if you each chose a class that starts on a different planet you won't meet up till around level 10ish when you're both finished and get to fleet. It's not really a big deal - especially since you aren't healing or tanking before you get an AC anyway - but thought it worth mentioning in case it's a deal breaker for any combo you're considering.
  2. #1 in my book is backhand for immortal juggs. Something about giving someone gets me every time. Dirty kick would be a close second. After that... to many to list; flame thrower, lightening sorcs, knife attacks from a concealment operatives, shoryuken erm I mean rocket punch, vigilance guardian's overhead slash/plasma brand/vigilant thrust, both knight's force leap, PT-tank jet charge (the warrior and VG-tank versions don't look as smooth to me), the way the Juggernaut looks with the weapon unsheathed, the smuggler out of combat rez. And +1 for surrender, I should probably put that as my number 3. I was using in pvp even before it was a root breaker just for the laughs. Caught out of stealth and about to get 1 vs 3'ed? I'd hit surrender hehe. Though they never accepted it nor did they "drop aggro" on me. It must have been broken. I did get a few "lol's" in say though.
  3. Claudia Black - various video games (notably Morrigan - DA) inquisitor. Steven Rattazzi - Dr. Byron Orpheus, Venture Brothers - inquisitor. Lawrence Fishburne - free your mind - councilor Patrick Warburton - Puddy, Seinfeld; Joe, Family Guy; Brock, Venture Bros - male trooper or BH. Mel Gibson - the when he was cool Lethal Weapon version - smuggler. Kate Beckinsale - agent (though I do enjoy the current fem agent VA) ---------------------- Lance Henriksen - Adm. Hackett - for the trooper's CO. Gonna give a +1 more for George Takei as the Emperor. Oh my. Helloooo. ah-hahaha
  4. Oh I know... sorry I didn't mean otherwise if it came off that way. I guess my question should have been, to those of you who've played this spec forever (even better if you're familiar with crippling strike), would you have preferred it as a "unable to turn" root instead of leaving it as a mezz that breaks on damage? I suppose it doesn't really matter much either way. No issues with resolve in pve and it's not really hard to get mauls off in pvp without it. Just thinking out loud I guess.
  5. Still being relatively new to the whole deception/infiltration lifestyle, wasn't low slash supposed to have been the "helper" ability to get your mauls off? Kinda like concealment's new crippling slice ability? Not to lick a gimp horse in the mouth, but wouldn't it have been better as a non-resolve building, unable to turn, root? The throw is quite cool though.
  6. Ehh I think you're crossing classes a bit. The Warrior doesn't get his "melee dps companion" until after alderaan, the Knight gets Kira, full time, after Coruscant. You don't get the healer until after balmorra, which is close to the end of chapter 2. No issues running defense spec from the get go. For gearing while leveling I don't bother with any "tank" gear until level 50. Do use soresu form when you get it (lv 14?) and a shield off hand, but otherwise dps gear in the rest of the slots. The mitigation you get in your discipline should be enough to level comfortably. Use the higher endurance armoring, hilt and enhancements; that's guardian instead of might. On the enhancements, again use the endurance heavy one's. For example power enhancement will have 18 end 10 power and the rage one will have 12 end 12 power. Use the higher endurance one. Later when surge shows up use the "efficient" enhancements, they have higher endurance, lower power, same surge. Endurance crystals. Mods are trickier because after level 30 something there are no more endurance heavy one's available from the planetary vendors, but that's okay because you've off set that in the other slots. Once you hit level 26, it's all over. You're pve rotation will be; leap > warding strike > guardian slash > sweep = one dead mob, feel free to mash a riposte in there (off the GCD) should it proc during that flurry. Finish off any stragglers with blade storm and slash. Go right into master strike if it's a silver.
  7. And why are you responding to people who probably aren't even playing/posting anymore? Thread was necro'ed.
  8. Well it's a thread by TAC and he's not known for taking the piss out of an issue. So I'd rule out photoshopped.
  9. And to add to TUXs' response; by the sounds of it your teammate was calling out the group for letting, what he perceived, was an opposing marked healer to free cast with no pressure. That's the insight/hidden message he was telling your group.
  10. Pierce isn't a romance option, he's a fling. Councilor spoiler
  11. Pfft, haha, you say this like it's a bad thing.
  12. Yes, this had been my experience on both these servers as well. But I'm also part of the problem because I've all but given up on Prophecy because of this. It's really annoying and discouraging to log into an east coast server at 6-7 pm EST and have to wait 15 minutes for a pop and still be down 1-3 people. It doesn't make any sense. I mean ToFn is a low pop server too, I always notice it's light even on the weekends just like PoT5, but at least they actually pvp over there and keep the pops going late into the night/early morning for them.
  13. If you don't understand tab targeting in reference to where your character is facing, it would seem unreliable. There is also a binding for target center screen. I've heard this "complaint" about tab since 2011 and I still haven't had any issues tabbing the enemy I want, and I mostly pvp where people don't stop moving. Tab for enemies, tilde (~) for allies. Simples really. It's supposed to be a spoof video in response to another stupid video posted in the pvp forums. The shtick is poking fun at the other video but this really should have been left in the pvp forums or, better yet, simply left on youtube and not here at all.
  14. Heh Well I appreciate the change in tone and almost feel bad for sassing you in your other thread. You're not that far off but you're approaching the issue from the wrong angle. BW needs to up the medal #'s to reflect level 60 gameplay. Remember these medals were introduced when 50 was the cap and players had 12,000-15,000 HP and they haven't been adjusted since. Healing for 500K was more of a big deal, not so much anymore when you consider DPS specs can hit 500k healing. Getting 6k protection in one life with 40k HP is nothing but that's a medal as of right now.
  15. With that logic we should really remove the pvp forum. No one actually uses it correctly. There aren't any kind of constructive discussions for new players to get useful tips without some special snowflake getting his panties in a bunch because he read that his way of playing/clicking is not a good idea. Instead we get passive aggressive whining because someone didn't recognize your greatness in a warzone. Adding insult to injury, you then had the audacity to tell someone else to grow up. Have a nice day.
  16. I'd pick/compare between scrapper scoundrel or infiltration shadow. Yeah I know serenity is all the rage right now but infiltration is way more fun and dare I say it's the shadow "signature" spec. Just as I'd say scrapper is the scoundrel's signature spec. Ruffian and serenity are okay if you like tracking dot's. Also, I'm not trying to imply serenity and ruffian don't use stealth, but striking from and getting back into stealth is more important for scrapper/infiltration. So if you want the whole stealth class experience I'd choose between those two specs. I'm having a tough time picking one though. A few months ago I would have said scrapper hands down but I've recently discovered the joys of infiltration and it really is a whole lot of fun too. If nothing else, scrapper feels a little sturdier in pvp because of their HoT healing capabilities.
  17. .... Not sure I understand you correctly. Wouldn't you still have to look on your bars to click the right button? Keybinding is more about memory, knowing what button is what ability. Most players will group similar effects to the same buttons for all their alts (gap closers the same button, CC's the same button, off the GCD the same buttons, dcd's same buttons, etc.). It doesn't always align perfectly (heh my Jugg and commando couldn't be any MORE different) Sometimes takes a few minutes for the muscle memory on each toon to kick in (especially if they're dusty) but it does come back pretty quickly after logging an alt I haven't used in a while. So the only real looking at hotbars should be the CD's. Then, unlike the OP who doesn't use it, cool down timer text on the abilities helps immensely. 4.2 more seconds on CD ? Okay I just count 3 more abilities (1.5 x 3) and use it without having to look again.
  18. ^^Yup, listen to JouerTue. I don't bother with any "tank" gear really until level 50. Use dps gear and a shield off hand, the mitigation you get in your discipline should be enough to level comfortably. Use the higher endurance armoring, hilt and enhancements; that's guardian for Jugg and force wielder for a sin.
  19. You don't ever have to touch pvp, flash points or even a heroic 2 or 4. You can simply do all the planet missions at every outpost, all bonus missions attached to the main missions (such as bonus: kill 30 sandpeople) and all bonus series when they open up you'll still be over leveled. You don't even need to use the complimentary xp boosts that you get as rewards, though those do help and it's a good idea to use them when you get them.
  20. How does one click and use abilities that are off the GCD? Is there as secret trick to clicking two buttons at the same time? Can you use two mouse at the same time or something? Why would someone say they keybind in a game with only 8 buttons (GW2) but say this game is easier to click the 36-48 hotkeys? Shouldn't it be the other way around? Why would someone go through the trouble of keybinding and learning/getting comfortable with it only to go back to clicking in another game? This isn't for people who've tried to keybind and didn't like it. It's for people, like the person in the video, who say they know how to keybind and do it in "other games" but click here. Something's fishy about that. Why is unload still on your bar even though you have the level 57 arsenal version of it now? If you must click, would it not be easier to put those 3-4 abilities that you use regularly next to each other instead of all spread out like that?
  21. Explosive dart, that's the one I couldn't think of the name. It's sticky grenade for troopers. I open with that instead of fusion missile as it too knocks down weak enemies but costs a little less. Though it is a delay and not an instant but I still like it. It also stuns the one weak you throw it on as they're in a "state of panic". Then when it explodes it knocks all weaks down in the area. *Wait, are you sure you mean fusion missile and not missile blast? Fusion missile is a 1.5 second channel that aoe explodes and leaves a little dot behind. Missile blast is an instant aoe attack that also knocks down weak enemies. You want to use tracer missile a lot. Never use heat seeking missle on a target unless you have your "heat signature" on them first. Hitting someone with a tracer missile places a heat signature on them, then HSM does 25% more damage. The stacks I'm talking about is your level 12 passive ability in your tree; tracer lock. Tracer lock increases the damage dealt by your next rail shot by 6 percent or lowers the casting time of your next healing scan by 20%. Stacks up to 5 times. Those are the stacks I'm talking about. Then level 28, lightem up, grants 2 stacks per tracer, so you only need to use it 3 times to get 5 stacks instead of 5 times.... if this makes sense. So yeah you want to use tracer often as a filler move. That's also why I suggested earlier in a post that perhaps the utility power barrier may be a good idea. It builds a 1% damage reduction on the same ability (tracer missile) and also stacks 5 times. The Light 'em up in the arsenal tree also applies to the utility power barrier, so 2 stacks of damage reduction per tracer at level 28.
  22. I never really understood this complaint. I never get upset or leave if I get backfilled, into a stomp or otherwise. I still got my one comm for backfilling, credit towards the daily/weekly and then I'll head to the objective or throw a quick heal/taunt or two and collect a couple 3 more medals. All for 2-3 minutes worth of my time. Extremely cost effective, that's like 40 comms plus the daily credit. It would be 80 comms for 15 minutes if I was there from the beginning and we lost. Not as cost efficient and much more frustrating.
  23. Are you still having trouble, did you get to 26 yet and your heat seeking missiles? I'm in the same boat you are but when I got the commando version of that recently the spec started to feel like it was coming together. Level 28, will be even better. At level 28 my "usual" routine goes: Throw sticky on a weak, sweeping blasters, finish off any single weak left standing with tracer ( if multiple weaks with little health, sweeping blasters again), tracer the silver, heatseeker the same silver, tracer, railshot and say goodnight. Sometimes if the silver is close to death I won't bother waiting on 5 stacks for railshot. I'll do it with 2 or 4 stacks, which is usually still enough to finish off a silver by that point in the fight. If you're not into pvp, which I've gathered from all your posts now, boresights is a good utility for leveling and sweeping blasters doesn't have a cool down. Throw sticky grenades in as well (forgot the merc version, it's the delayed explosion one that you got before level 10). I would say get rid of fusion missile, it's not cost effective. You're better off tracer missile or sweeping blasters spamming at that point. Also, perhaps give Treek a shot in tank stance. I understand she will still heal in tank stance but will also keep the enemies off you with aggro. Don't be shy about using your 2 heals every now and again as well.
  24. Ooops, sorry. Didn't read the question carefully enough.
