  1. To address part of your concerns. It's really not that complicated but RANKED pvp can be gated. Be that by VALOR or some kind of PVP token that a player can earn by playing regular matches. This ensures that those that participate have at the very least, a rudimentary idea what the hell they are doing. They may not be good, but they've played enough matches that they 'should' understand the basics. As an example (off the top of my head with very little thought): It costs 8,000 comms to purchase 1 RANKED PVP Season Pass. Anyone who's earned 8k in comms deserves a shot at the big dogs. And lets be honest here.. if you are doing RANKED with a pug...?? You get what you get. At least they paid their entry fee. They can still have plenty of cool armor sets.. etc.. to spend both ranked and regular comms on.
  2. Can't speak for you, but if ST had some range + decent root, I'd be using it to 'prevent' melee from closing on me immediately, so I can actually deal with the guy I'm attacking. As a counter - Deception Assassins still have more utility, control, burst and now 30 meter offense / defensive ability. All I'm asking for is a longer range root to keep up.
  3. OP... I find the number of snobs in PVE is about the same in PVP. Nobody and I mean NOBODY wants you in their pug Flashpoint, if you 1: Don't space bar the conversations. 2: Don't know your class role in a group setting. 3: Don't know the fights, tricks ..etc..etc. I wouldn't EVER expect to play a Pug FP that I'm not familiar with, without letting my team know I don't actually know the fights..etc..etc... or at the VERY LEAST.... taking the time to read about them, before I set foot in them. That being said; Why on earth would you anticipate PVP to be ANY different?? You want to PVP in the big leagues?? ( Level 60 and beyond) Take the time to 'at the very least' read a bit or ask questions, if you aren't going in with your guild. The only major difference in doing PVE vrs PVP is: at the end of the match you aren't dealing with some scrub rolling NEED on an item they can't even use. You actually get rewarded by playing your role, and performing well.
  4. I never thought it made sense that I could only throw my knife 10 meters, so I say yes to 30. It should be a 4 second root. For mezzing purposes, we should be allowed to use Tranquilizer Dart, up to 30 meters and should be allowed to use it out of stealth. Again, doesn't make sense that we can only use it while stealthed. A tranquilizer is a tranquilizer. Doesn't matter if you know it's coming or not, the chemicals still work. I think these tools will make Concealment Operatives much more competitive but not OP. I will suffer the lack luster damage, if granted better control.
  5. See.. I don't think they should fix it. I think they should just roll back the 3.1.2 update and re-evaluate. If they can't roll back the changes, then yes... they've got serious issues. Any IT person worth a grain of salt, knows how to rollback servers to previous states.
  6. Hundreds??? You mean 'millions' sir. This game had over 3 million pre-orders, if I recall correctly. Has just over 1 million active players, of which.. I'd wager 60% (at best) are actually subscribers. As a founder, I stopped subscribing to this game for 'roughly' 1.5 years, in protest. I just came back and after 2 months, I'll likely let my sub expire again once my prepaid is done. I LOVE star wars. I LOVE parts of this game, but... honestly...? They make so many boneheaded decisions, its just hard to keep supporting them with my money. They are a lot like a problem child. You love em, but you gotta practice TOUGH love, and hope it gets through.
  7. Their whole PVP gear grind model is flawed. Gear in SWTOR pvp is a HURDLE not a REWARD. If you want to balance PVP, remove gear requirements and bolster everyone up/down to the same lvl. a: This encourages EVERYONE to pvp, who has a notion to do so. b: Gear is no longer a hurdle, it is a reward. BAM!! Now you can actually get realistic metrics on balance, and know exactly what needs to be adjusted because all the random 'gear' variables are gone. Regular and Ranked WZ comms are still given as rewards, and allow the player to buy 'exclusive pvp gear' with them. Exclusive Adaptive Armor sets, pets, mounts, dyes, stronghold decorations, star fighter crap... an entire shopping cart FULL of exclusive PVP stuff can be purchased ONLY WITH your hard earned comms. Balance and incentive achieved.
  8. I just realized I don't use Low Slash enough, on my Deception Sin.

    Good News

I have good news!! I finally decided to lvl up my Sorc from 55 to 60, rolling a HEALER no less. Mainly to support my 'insane' Darkness tank buddy in pvp. SO.. I started moving the glut of reg wz comms to my lowbies to hold until I hit 60, rather than convert them at a 3-1 ratio for ranked comms, only to have to convert them back. (what a pain) So - I'd moved 6000 reg wz comms to various alts, and was pretty stoked I'd be able to walk into lvl 60 with full exhumed gear and set bonuses. I knew I was on the clock with the impending change to the wz comm swap, planned for the 3.2 update on PTS. So.. 3.1.2 hits and WHAAAAAAAAAA?? They patched it already??!!! FK!! Oh wait.... this isn't good news. My bad.
  10. YES as a matter of fact, there is an update. The update is!!! It isn't fixed yet.
  11. I don't care one way or another. I've already had to rename most of my toons, several times now, due to server mergers. It is what it is.. think of something else clever and move along.
  12. /SIGNED .... AGAIN Please do one or several of the following. ( In order of my personal preference.) Add legacy wallet. Allow pre-purchase of gear prior to lvl 60. Increase reg wz comm cap high enough so a fresh 60 with maxed Regular WZ comms can buy most or all of their tier 1 gear. Seriously reduce Tier 1 gear cost.
  13. Excellent List OP. I suggest you edit your post as new suggestions get added. Node Guarding: Make note of WHICH node you are guarding, so when it does come time to call out, you know where to direct your teammates. Just shouting in chat: I NEED HELP!! doesn't really tell us what's going on. You might just be sitting on the toilet and realized you ran out of toilet paper, for all we know. Instead say things like: Alderan: Need help SNOW! Novare: Need help West!! Or better yet, be specific: 2 inc Snow!
  14. If you DONT play on PTS and DONT go into rotations, buffs/nerfs gearing..etc..etc.. then.. how do you even know your class was even nerfed into un-playability?
  15. I take it SORC was your favorite class? Now you are upset because they reduced your damage output by what? 5%??? And you think it's all the PVP'ers fault?? So - to recap: Nobody cares if a PVE class is OP or not, so never attempt to balance them. Just let us smash content as we see fit. Check!! And.. if you DO nerf them, I wont spend any money on your cartel market. Roger that... thank you for stopping by.
  16. This is a ridiculous comment. Match-making in this game is absolute garbage. I just played a pug arena where it matched 2 DPS 2 Sorc Heals, against 4 DPS. A perfect opportunity for the 'system' to match up 3 DPS + 1 Healer, against 3 DPS + 1 Healer. Instead we get an insanely lopsided match. That's either horrible luck, a horrible match-making system, or people are 'gaming' the system. Regardless - it stinks.
  17. Some people don't. Some people will slot more accuracy. More to the point: Attacks and heals for that matter, shouldn't be auto-hit. Even for our godly super-hero toons. Worked great in a number of other MMO pvp games, not to mention, countless RPG's and table top games, and would add more variety to our current insta-gib stun fest.
  18. Make Accuracy relevant in PVP. Actually make people slot accuracy if they want to expect to reasonably hit things. Our default elite skill of 95% chance or 100% chance on force attacks is just... way...... WAY too high. It should be more like: 60% base. Even on force attacks and heals. Yes yes.. sorry nubs, but your heals can miss. Slot accuracy and that problem goes away. Wha??? You lost power and surge?? Suck it up butter-cup, fights are about to get more interesting.
  19. Indeed: Auto-crit for Hidden Strike would be considered Over-Powered, but in reality it would just bring them in-line with all the other classes. Bioware just hates Operatives, so it will never happen.
  20. This is a lie. Exfiltrate does not break roots. At least, not in pvp. I get rooted all the time, and cannot roll away. I might roll in place, but I'm still stuck and can't run after not going anywhere with the roll.
  21. I'm re-posting this thread from the PVP forums, hoping someone following the Ops thread might have a little more insight. Countermeasures: The tool tips says (when talented - 2 pts) it has a 100% chance to remove all movement impairing effects. First off: I've notice this power doesn't always activate instantly. Sometimes I'll click it and it will eventually fire off 3 - 4 seconds later. I don't 'think' it's lag, as I can do 'other stuff' after clicking it. It's just the animation/activation doesn't seem to happen for several seconds 'after' activated. Again - sometimes. Second: It only seems to actually work 50% of the time. Sometimes I get out of movement impairing effects, sometimes I don't. So I never really know if it's going to fire off, and then I don't know if it will actually work..... Is this power bugged? Should I just invest those points elsewhere?
  22. I might 'seem' like a waste, especially if it doesn't work reliably, but honestly where else can we put them? Alacrity? (another debate) Never-the-less, in PVP I've found the extra 'break free' ( again, when it works) to be a major life saver. All the ops classes rely on mobility to survive, and the extra 'get out of jail' card is always nice to have, especially dealing with melee opponents. I think I'll re-post this thread in the Ops section.
  23. Actually - in this particular case, all you'd have to do is adjust how resolve builds for 'ball carriers'. As in - less. That would actually force more passing, and make the game more interesting. Imho. Regardless - the OP is right. If I get jumped by more than 2 peps, I can just take my hands off the keyboard because I'm not going to be able to take any further action except click respawn, 99% of the time. Blame it on resolve, latency, server lag.... doesn't really matter. It still aint fun.
