  1. No, Mercs and PTs didn't get them. Deception Sin and Lightning Sorc didn't get them either.
  2. The Leg Slash root is a heroic utility, as is Expunging Camouflage. Brooding is also heroic. You can only pick 2 heroic, so you would not pick Leg Slash because snare break Camou and Brooding are too important to miss. Unbound (Predation buff) is heroic also, so Carnage will lose that too.
  3. All specs are still good for PvE DPS. But Marauder won't be able to keep up in mobility in PvP.
  4. BW also forgot to mention that execute damage bonus and Scream/Massacre crit damage bonus were also nerfed. And Scream will only get 1 rage reduction instead of 2. So Scream will cost 2 rage with execute buff instead of 1 rage.
  5. This BW post does not show all the nerf to Carnage. 4 of Carnage's utilities were changed to heroic utilities, which we will only be able to get 2. So Carnage lost 2 important utilities that made it good. Gore also lost cooldown reduction and reset, and is on a 15s cooldown unless activated during Berserk with alacrity to lower it back to 10.5s cooldown. Gore on GCD also means burst is nerfed. And finally, all the ranged classes got mobility and survival buff while Carnage's mobility stays the same; that is a nerf in Meta-PvP.
  6. I can see it happen. Maybe BW learned a thing or two from Wild Star, even though Wild Star totally crashed after a few months.

  10. That is the point, there are already PTs running at 80% speed boost with Predation and Hydraulic Override in Huttball. PTs running at 75% speed boost by themselves in Huttball won't be anything new. So it is hardly overpowered. Movement speed doesn't stack. So if there is any Marauder that can keep poping 80% Predation in huttball, the 75% speed HO is actually a waste of Utility point.
  11. If we are only talking about ranked, then ranked has to be fixed first before BW cares to look at it from that perspective. Right now, it is raiding viability first.
  12. I can keep Predation up 80% of the time in combat. Just stay close to the ball carrier and keep fighting, and don't carry the ball. Alacrity is not in the same stat pool as power. It shares a stat pool with accuracy and surge. I bet you a million credits that Alacrity can't stack beyond 7% with diminished returns in PvP gear. Think about it. If DPS increase given by alacrity is much higher than the other 2 secondary stats, surge and accuracy, will there even be a point to get accuracy and surge anymore? No. The most logical outcome is that alacrity, accuracy, and surge are balanced to give similar DPS boost, so players can customize their play style by choosing which stats to invest in. If alacrity does give too good of a DPS boost in the beginning, I can bet on it getting nerf to balance out with accuracy and surge, because that is the design goal.
  13. They are viable in PvP, except in ranked arenas. Unless you mean you want them viable in ranked arenas. Well then, a lot of specs are not viable in ranked arenas, so DPS Ops are not alone.
  14. Nah, only Carnage lost more than it gained. Annihilation can ramp up 3 times faster, Rage can burst more often with building stacks out of combat. Snipers got rotations streamlined, and shorter cooldown, and shorter cast times on most abilities, and can build like a fortress with a lot of defensive utilities.
  15. How will this be any different than Marauders keep using Predation in Huttball? I am surprised that you didn't complaint about Deception getting more CC - instant Whirlwind.
  16. Really? Then how come DPS Operatives or Sage Healers can't make it in the top teams?
  17. If by "boost" you means PvEers que for ranked just to get conquest points for the "10x ranked participation" achievement, then ya it is a boost all right. But it is not a healthy boost. It is just PvEers queing with PvE gear trying to grab fast conquest points. And they don't try hard to win.
  18. That is not what it is for. It is a auto-DoT purge as you combat stealth, so you don't lose your combat stealth to DoTs. With AoE Dots flying everywhere in 3.0, this utility can be perceived as necessary to even try to combat stealth. And if it does become necessary, we actually got nerfed in meta-PvP because we need to sacrifice one heroic utility just to keep combat stealth working.

  20. No, they won't. Good players will own in PvP. The class itself is balanced. Sins will have the same strengths and weaknesses in 3.0.
  21. Your point was that "Essentially the two things the spec had going for it looks like to be gone, survivability and decent AOE." My point is that survivability and AoE of Engineering got buff in 3.0, not nerf. Engineering's access to all specs' defensive utilities more than make up for the lost of the reset.
  22. OK, since you are so confident that 3.0 Sin can kill someone in 15s. Give me an example. Which class and spec can a sin kill in 15s? And please don't assume that the target is AFK.
  23. Actually, you do get the ones higher up in the tree. Any Sniper will have access to the best defensive utilities from all 3 tress. Getting the reset in addition will make the Sniper overpowered.
  24. Not true, healers can easily counter Dots. All healers are getting AoE heals.
