  1. Alright, its fighting time! I guarantee this will ruffle a feather or four. The above items and benefits cannot be provided at the start of the Kaggath, as they are modifications and straight up upgrades to other things. They will likely take a good deal of time to manufacture and deliver. The delivery will also be incredibly difficult as the CIS navy fled the planet, as per their tactics. You can funnel money as fast as you want into acquiring these objects, but travel time and blockade running can't be bought off. Secondly, I call shenanigans on half of Urai's rumored abilities. Cutting into vehicles and single-handedly shredding infantry? Yeah, those are game mechanics, not actual events. Even then there is no references to him being comparable to a force user of Ventress, Dooku or anyone similar.
  2. I'm gonna go back 5 pages and see where we stalled. See if I can't start a fight over something.
  3. All Leadership should have established lore outside of game mechanics.
  4. Well, I plan on using at least 1 character (non-player) from the game for my Faction. I have the leadership picked out, but the troops/vehicles/navy are still mostly unknown.
  5. Well, about 30 pages back I wrote an entire tear down, including heat effects. The forums ate it and I have been displeased. However I feel there are a few things that could be cleared up for the strength of the FE. All soldiers are considered equipped ideally for their settings, such as storm troopers being converted to Snow troopers on Hoth, or sand troopers on Tattooine. This was said by Beni during the EoP match. The same cannot be said for droids. Ever get sand in a watch? A little bit is fine, but the howling winds of Tatooine blow sand everywhere. How long before gears grind, things clog up and the unstoppable droid army needs some meatbag to clean out the gunk?Droids on Tatooine are never shown in good condition unless they never leave the indoors. Why? Because the entire planet accelerates entropy on a massive scale. Particle shields would have to be run constantly, which has risks of its own.
  6. I am working on one as well, but as my posting times are limited, it may end up just a wistful idea.
  7. A not about Hyperdrives, and hyper space travel. Jumping in and out took time sent off "waves". When the CIS jumps back to begin their successive assaults, the FE will know exactly where they are coming out at. Secondly, the CIS has to putter beyond Tatooine's gravity well, hyperdrives won't function there. Hit and run is great, but if Broadsides are as slow as they are indicated to be, they will take fire as they try and out run the gravity.
  8. I object to this on many levels. No one else has had the luxury of being able to move locations mid Kaggath, especially to a location across the galaxy. Canino chose his location and should have to live with it, sorry about your luck.
  9. So, as that argument ends in deadlocked opinions, lets talk about the ships, movement, accuracy and the capability of the naval commanders. How many guns/tubes can the Broadside fire while moving away? How accurate are the FE's ships while on the move? How will each fleet position itself, and how well will that translate into the constant movement of this battle?
  10. So the Fist has access to every asset that the Intelligence community has, in addition to the Trade Federation funds? That's a lot of black-budget/slush fund/spy money right there.
  11. /5char Dooku doesn't have his money, Xizor doesn't have his, and his Pirates are working with payment pending. Should be even easier to get that fleet to defect now.
  12. Money can buy much, but there is a limit to how much efficiency that you can buy. All the money in the world cannot cause a manufacturer to work beyond their capacity. Cost also goes up exponentially as you hire more people and demand faster yields. Essentially, as more people work, accidents go up which dove-tails nicely into the idea that haste makes mistakes. Secondly, CI seems perfectly willing to throw all the money in the galaxy around everywhere. Even someone fabulously wealthy has limits, and pirates are notoriously greedy. I would be curious to see exactly how much the CI has promised their pirates, and if the FE could offer more to large numbers.
  13. Which means we need to talk about ship speed, handling and accuracy. How fast can the FE accelerate and how close do they have to be to fire on the enemy? How much weaponry can the CI bring to bear whilst moving away? How agile are both fleets, and how accurate are they while on the move?
  14. Lets not forget Pirates weren't known for their discipline. How long before an impatient Pirate over commits on a raid? Because of a lack of over-all coordination, how likely is it that a number of ships decide to follow one of the Ally's personal ships into the fray? Hit and run tactics are well and good, but to do so effectively takes a lot of coordination and discipline. Or, as South Park would say: http://youtu.be/tdbORXEmbnk
  15. Deep pockets are only half the battle, the Fist Fleet is going to be bloody intimidating to look at. Jumping in the Pirates may be steadfast, but how quick will that change after the first few volleys? All the potential money in the world is meaningless when you're dead. We talk about officers defecting, i think there is a very real chance that the Pirate fleet may defect.
  16. Considering the opposing fleet are all Pirates... What are the chances of Count Dooku, Darth Tyrannus, simply buying off the smaller fighters? Rycus's nature almost insists on him bragging about his prowess, which will scare the pirates. Combine the intimidation with the bribe, and I would wager that dozens of Pirates change teams. The Intelligence Agency would add a whole other level to the proceedings. The Fist would potentially know exactly how much the Pirate Fleet is being paid, and how much it would take to lure them away.
  17. Yeah, I've just caught up and will not be joining this. Too many sketchy calls on every side, Arbiter included, and Revan-sue being involved. Good luck wookiees, I hope you win.
  18. I'm going to have to do some research on it, but with both Hapan Intelligence, Secret Wookiee hyperlanes and some very cunning leaders, couldn't the WA ambush the other fleet? Would it be possible that the WA could send some feelers with their intel forces, set up a conference, and when holier-than-thou Revan refuses to bend knee, jump in behind the enemy and lay into their back end?
  19. I dislike characters because game mechanics muddle things, plot armor defeats debate, and what the character can do is tainted by them both. It is incredibly hard to argue against someone who is supposed to have the huge variety of capabilities that people like Revan are asserted to have. The loyalty of her troops is mentioned second hand, or by Kreia third hand. Bao-dur is Force-sensitive and in her feedback loop, so his statements are likely colored by it. Kreia is a lying, manipulative schutta, who is as trustworthy as a Hutt.
  20. Wait, I was being discussed, in private? Yay me, I'm one of the cool kids now! Does that mean I get assigned a color? Anything available in the Purples or greens? Do I get a cool quote? Fiercely loyal, is a good thing, but she had time to develop a bond that deep. Soldiers who have served together are fiercely loyal to one another, and are willing to fight and die for one another (if they get along). How is Surik's bond better/different? We've seen what it can do to other force-sensitives, but there isn't any comparable material for its effect on non-force-sensitives. It makes sense that her soldiers would be loyal to her, end The Art of War has something to say about it:
  21. Well, I remained neutral for a paragraph. I just can't side with any team that fields anyone as overblown as Revan-Sue. Normally, I would not get involved in the space portion of things, but, leaders are being called into question so I guess I'll chime in. Surik's Force Bond is powerful, but it doesn't force cooperation. It provokes strong responses, but nowhere (that I can find) is it listed as a completely unifying effect. If Wedge is unhappy, then he is unhappy; if he wants out, he can leave. He'll do his job wonderfully, and happily come to Surik/Revan's defense, but he is not compelled to stay. Surik's bond formed strongest with other force-sensitives, because it formed a feedback loop. Also of note, we've never seen what happens with her bond and non-Force-Sensitives, though we have anecdotal evidence as to it having some effect. Quotes to Argue with
  22. The EoP controls sewage and some of the cycling. It is hilariously bad city planning to try and force water back up over a thousand feet to the Middle City. Sewage likely gets pumped down to the Under City, cleaned and then sent up to the lowest level of each other City where it is cleaned again using their available technology. You think the Upper Middle Class is going to drink water out of a tap that was last filtered by the Thugs in the Lower City? Or, even the poorest person in the Upper City would drink anything not scrubbed at least three more times since the gangs, aliens and ilk of the Lower City/Under City? It is the same across real world cities, with something as simple as a faucet attachment; but the sheer scope means emergency planning would have a reserve for at least the Upper Level. After all, only 20-30 years prior the entire planet tried to over throw the Upper City, Funny you should mention that. The Middle City is the economic Hub of the planet, which means there is very likely to be bug spray available. The cleaning droids will likely come equipped with the stuff, considering how relentlessly the Upper City hated uncleanliness. As it so happens I work in a Hotel, which can hold 80 people. Everyone of our cleaning ladies has a can of spray on their carts, just in case. We are a solid two star hotel.
  23. I dislike the Smuggler Story. You're the chump the entire time. Consular has been amazing. I played a Shadow and have loved it. Trooper, so far, is definitely in my top 4 stories. It shows what is going on inside the Republic itself, and then has you racing to save the Republic war effort. Sith Warrior is my favorite, Agent is second, and Inquisitor was redeemed solely by the planet Corellia.
