  1. You're completely delusional if you think this game is heading in that direction, LOL.
  2. Adding another WoW clone to the pile didn't help anything. How so? Race selection is worse first of all. They have no defining characteristics. The rest of the game involves skill trees that are worse than WoW, ugly gear, and they added on a revolutionary system where you can be light or dark! Oh my god! The game is the same as WoW with some bad voiceovers broseph. No endgame here, move along now Actually this game features some of the worst zones I've seen in an MMO, like alderaan. Until after level 30 right? Unresponsive combat Compare it to the industry giant and the leveling in this game is a massive chore. It's good, i'll give you this one. Launch technically was smooth, but letting friends level ahead of friends was a dumb decision. Honestly if this is the product they put on the table considering the millions they spent on this game, I'll get out before I dump any money into this.
  3. 5/10 for me Rating is based on hype, comparison to other games in the genre, polish, fun and originality
  4. What if we find the game unimpressive because there's another game out there called WoW that does almost everything this game does but better?
  5. Vanilla WoW had more endgame content than SWTOR currently offers. Onyxia + MC + end game 5 mans were a lot more than WoW currently offers. And WoW changed the genre. Shouldn't a game coming out in late 2011 have a similar content offering to what WoW offers if they hope to compete?
  6. Oh ok. I thought the game sucked, but it's good to know the game has succeeded because you are having a blast. McDonald's is the best restaurant in the world for everyone too because you have a blast when you eat their food.
  7. This is the most horrible thing I've seen posted. Pretend the game doesn't have competition and you'll like it better. That's dumb. You've got a filet mignon and a mcdonalds hamburger patty in front of you. If the patty is there alone you'll eat it. The filet mignon is there and you'll think twice about even sniffing the patty.
  8. I really don't understand why people find it necessary to point out that others are sharing their opinions. No joke. That's what this board is for. No reason to do that. Also, the point was directed towards the person that said this game is not WoW like at all. It's more like WoW than it is different, that's all I'm saying.
  9. This is hilarious. I did the same today. I actually was burned out on WoW, part of the reason was because I just KNEW this game was going to replace it. Now that I know that this game (which is the final nail in the coffin for me in terms of getting hyped over MMO's not made by Blizzard) fails, I am enjoying WoW more. Hell I took the LFD tool for granted and even bashed it at times. I didn't realize how great it was until now.
  10. Combat is identical, although SWTOR's is a worse version. Zones structure is the same, quest hub to quest hub. Less Zones Endgame is 100% identical Quests are worse than WoW Voiceovers and story delivery is better Crafting system is better, but lacks recipes so it's ruined. With a few differences, how is the game "not WoW-like"
  11. I like how some people in this thread are saying "**** the haters" when the haters are the only ones who state that combat responsiveness in this game is horrible. The white knights pretend like nothing at all is wrong.
  12. I've seen you throw something like this around in several threads already. Someone bashes your game and your only retort is "well, you MUST be new to MMO's" Suck up more
  13. yeah it's a step forward to remove matchmaking and go to the 90's
  14. I'm going to laugh when it takes Bioware extra time to release content because they HAVE to include voice acting for everything now.
  15. It worked for me for awhile, but later in the game (30+) I realized it wasn't special at all. Then when you roll another character and you do the same side quests you did before, it really starts wearing down.
  16. You have about as much evidence as tortoises which is none.
  17. Also SWTOR has story and delivery, but as far as the actual quests go, they are nowhere near the level of quests delivered in Cataclysm, WotLK, and even BC. They're as good as WoW Vanilla quests, maybe. Kill, collect, find. I have yet to encounter anything else.
  18. /Looks at SWTOR in game server list and populations /Looks at WoW in game server list and populations /realizes the OP is named tortoises because he is slow in the head
  19. Vehicle quests, more interesting and defined areas, the level of variety of quests are nowhere near up to the standards set in Cataclysm. No AA hurts the game a lot. It makes the graphics feel outdated and it's just putting my computer to waste. Also framerate issues plague the game. People with great machines are not getting matching performance. Optimization issues mainly from what I can tell. Not going to disagree with how WoW was, but that was 7 years ago. The model has shifted since then and SWTOR stayed behind rather than making the quests and leveling a little better. The story is good, but if you look beyond that, the actual game (the part you play) is lacking. The thing is, why isn't it done by now. Why is this game not comparable to WoW in these areas if they're going to ask for $15 a month? Combat is just rough in comparison, talents are such an outdated design. I don't think they'll leave it like it is, unless they are dumb. That stuff isn't even content we're talking about. It's game systems that are incredibly poorly thought out. No excuse. It's called nostalgia. I can't tell you how I longed to play original everquest for years. When I finally gave project 99 a shot, I realize how original Everquest was unplayable almost because of how outdated the mechanics were. It was just the memory of my good times playing that made me want to go back. Blizzard takes a lot of flack for things like this, and I wish there was a vanilla server so people like you could see. I mean you said earlier yourself, vanilla WoW was terrible after STV in terms of leveling. That has been improved a million times over. Talents are much better. SWTOR by itself makes me realize how wrong I was at times for bashing the LFD tool in WoW. Blizzard has made many improvements to the game, and some things I would call steps back. The thing is though, SWTOR came out in 2011. It doesn't get to compete with WoW from 2004. Bioware is asking for money to play their game, so it needs to be a higher quality product than it is if they're going to ask for the same amount of money as Blizzard is. Over the past decade, first impressions have proven to mean a lot in terms of the longevity of MMO's.
  20. The story is good, alright. The crafting system is creative, but destroyed by the fact that they aren't even useful in the current state of the game. Companions, forced Bioware to balance leveling content around companions which is a terrible move. The combat is clunky, the quest design is horrible (collect, kill, find, that's the extent of it), talents are worse than vanilla WoW, graphics are missing basic features the game should have in 2012, grindfest beyond level 30, world is empty, factions horrible imbalanced because of Bioware's decisions in terms of races, dialogue is broken because of the way light and dark work. I'm still waiting for someone to mention something beyond story as a reason to play this game. Tell me how it is advanced beyond WoW without citing *********** "story" as a reason, please. Environments are lifeless by the way.
  21. Read: We will be releasing a bunch of stuff that should have happened to the game coming out of Beta testing. Thanks for getting duped into buying this unfinished product, now give us $15 a month so we can make it the way it should have been in the first place. We hope you don't mind the bland talent system as well as horrible operations, flashpoints, and quests which will be here to stay for the foreseeable future.
  22. I actually was there when WoW launched, and despite the crashes and bugs the game kept my money because it was actually a good game and fun to play. What you fail to realize is that SWTOR should be advanced beyond what WoW was 7 years ago. Some aspects are better, Some aspects are the same, but most of the aspects are worse. As a whole, SWTOR is not what an MMO should be in 2012. No, I won't be paying $15 a month when there are superior products on the market asking for an equal amount.
  23. You can tell, especially with the talents and the current quests in the game, that Bioware was copying WoW, and most of the stuff they copied was pre Cata era and Bioware never bothered to make adjustments after WoW switched to more interesting talents and quests in Cata. Talents that are boring like adding to hit chance only. And then the quests... ouch. Quests are actually stuck in the BC era or earlier. When you're on your starting planet, you will complete every single type of quest type available in this game. It's bad. People are saying things like the game will come along with patching. Yes, some of it will. But so much of the stuff Bioware has done is not reversible, not at least for the near future. I'll actually argue that talents are worse than they EVER were in WoW, because each class only has 2 unique trees with 1 shared one. Lazy.
  24. What about this game currently indicates that any of the above will take place?
