  1. I find it strange that the game and the forum use the same log-in and password.
  2. How strange to see this old post resurrected. First off, yes, I apologize for confusing sage with sorcerer. And, no, I don't get carsick or seasick; this is really the 1st time in a game, even, that I can recall anything like this happening to me, which is why I thought it significant enough to post about. I just learned to not focus on my character when using the skill and, like all my Imp toons, once I finished his story I stopped playing him. Problem solved.
  3. Having played thru all 8 calsses (as male toons only), I've found pretty much all the voice acting first class. The one real exception to this, imo, is Tharan; not that's there anything wrong with his voice, per se, but how, with that voice and vocal inflections, we're expected to believe, according to the plot at least, that he's straight. I realize in RL not all straight guys sound like John Wayne or Vin Diesel but c'mon. Then, a minor quibble I have is with the standard practice of having the actors record their parts alone which, in the obvious absence of a pronunciation guide, often leads to characters in a conversation pronouncing someone's name slightly differently. An NPC on Nar Shaada is fresh in my mind - Rieelken, I think it is, variously pronounced as Reel-kin, Ree-el-kin and Rail-kin.
  4. Pointless armor class restrictions that prevent companions from wearing so many pieces or armor. (You know the ones - Req Jedi Knight or Smuggler, for example.) Case in point: 2 pairs of simple plain brown boots, 1 buff finish, 1 shiny, neither of which Doc can use because of the above restrictions even though, technically, he *is* a smuggler. Same with Tharan. Makes it very hard to dress you and your comp in matching outfits. Grrrrrrrr. There are, of course, pieces without the restrictions but they're usually ugly crap that I wouldn't be caught dead wearing myself, much less foist on my faithful comp.
  5. "The Basic Gear Vendor will prepare you for group content at 55, the Elite Gear Vendor will prepare you for Operations at level 55, and the Ultimate Gear Vendor will prepare you for the most challenging Operations bosses in the Galaxy. " And, if the past year is a guide, in 3-4 months they'll decide this approach: a - isn't working (but will claim is 'working as intended') b - is working but was poorly thought out / implemented (though they'll never admit to that) c - everyone hates it (not that that means squat) So, they'll add a couple more tiers/comms/vendors to make the situation even worse. Just saying.
  6. Wow, just ... wow. With everything else that's going on, it's great they took the time to fix this. Thanks.
  7. Yes, it would be helpful to either run them longer on make them recurring events. GW had 3 events every year - Hallowe'en, Christmas and Chinese New Year (though they weren't called those names, of course). DDO has a Hallowe'en-ish event in the fall and a pirate-themed event in the spring, each lasting about a month.
  8. When I was on this morning, there were 40+ on Ilum but I didn't think to check for instances. I commented that with all those people on no one was doing dailies, so I breezed right through them which was nice but, then, no one wanted to do Darkness either when I asked. Win some, lose some.
  9. But will likely start doing them again when the level cap increases with Makeb. Grrrr, thought I was finished with them.
  10. Question about the # of processors part: are you talking actual processors or simply cores? I have a quad core i7 is why I ask and wanted to check on that before making any change there. TIA
  11. Just my luck. My comps page may just end up one portrait short.
  12. Don't wear capes. But, seriously, I know exactly what you're talking about because I just grouped with a cape wearer who had one of those long, cigar-chaped speeders and I noticed that the cape was sticking out of the bottom as he flew along. Reminded me of Shelley Duval's granny dresses always hanging out the door of her Pinto in Three Women.
  13. Thx for the quick reply. Yes, the Presence buff is mainly what I meant. How early, story-wise, can one obtain the completion? How much of their quest advancement tied to your story advancement? I mean, would I have to play the new alt all the way to 50? Or at what point can just buying gifts do the trick?
  14. It says you have to have completed all the companion quests and conversations in addition to having maxed their affection to have that comp appear on your legacy page. Well, I know I abandoned a comp quest by mistake on one of my alts and CS couldn't restore it (because they can only 'fix' class quests). I think it was with Kira. Assuming it is she and I max her out and she doesn't unlock so I make another Jedi and max his Kira out and she appears, would that comp stay unlocked if I then deleted that new Jedi, like the Legacy buff stays unlocked if you delete the alt that earns it?
  15. "Have I mentioned I'm a pacifist?" Only like a gazillion times now. You know, they drastically cut back on C2's chatter in one of the early patches due to player complaints but, true to form, they then broke this fix in a subsequent patch (1.4 iirc).
  16. I agree that there are too many trees on Alderaan but I think the amount on Voss is just right.
  17. Yes, I support this, although covert gloves would do, I suppose. Just last night, I gave Tharan and myself covert chestpieces and I had to buy new gloves for Tharan as I also got him new pants (that suited the covert better) and the gloves he had didn't go with the pants. Then sort of the same with me, pants were ok but didn't go with the gloves but, fortunately, I had some gloves in storage that went nicely.
  18. Chasing History on Republic Taris is my absolute favorite, followed by The Trial on Voss.
  19. It's Bioware's way of telling you get up and stretch your legs for a minute or two, go pee, get something to eat and/or drink - they're only looking after our health and welfare.
  20. I thought they'd said they weren't going to make any more 'big' speeders due to the annoyance these engendered on fleet.
  21. How would it throw the game out of balance if the stuff you buy with the comms has a level requirement? Your lvl 15, even if he could travel to Ilum, couldn't use the stuff the comms can buy until he hits lvl 50. To OP: Alternatively, simply change the BoP restriction on the armor and weapons the comms purchase to BoE (while keeping the lvl req, of course) so the character with the comms can buy the stuff and mail it to an alt (or sell on the GTN, like you can already do with the armoring, mods and enhancements).
  22. Might as well bemoan the lack of pants for light armor wearers - 36 pages of custom leggings on GTN and *2* pairs of pants, the pub ones some white thing with unsightly bulges in the front that I wouldn't wear anyway.
  23. Can you strip those 132 armor mods off and stick them on your normal orange stuff?
  24. Great news ... if it _stays_ fixed this time around. I might now pull out the saber-wielding companions and use them on occasion. Now, if they only fix the Sweeping Blast animation (you know, so your character actually faces the targets you're shooting at). Again.
