  1. This became a huge issue for me with the release of SoR. The Revan fight alone is an absolute pain in the ***, but so are the numerous mobs with huge knock backs. I think it really is too much. I usually try to send in my companion first to eat whatever knock backs I can anticipate, but that's not always viable.
  2. Quality over quantity? That is blasphemy around these parts.
  3. If the majority of worlds were the size of Alderaan and Tatooine I could see it being useful. But, if the recently released content/expansions are any indication of future planet sizes, any increase in speed would make worlds feel way too small. On the other hand, I always disliked the speed of "speeders". They do seem slow for what they are. It's a shame, really.
  4. This may not directly contribute to this thread but it's somewhat relevant I suppose... I wish every species had it's own female/male voiceovers. Some of the voices just don't match certain species. Not to mention the increase to replay value. I understand the financial burden this would create, it's just my personal wishful thinking.
  5. At first that saber really didn't do it for me, but there have been rather interesting sabers in the EU so it isn't as far-fetched as it originally seemed for me. For most, it's hard for anyone to let go of what they deem perfection (the original trilogy) and thus no matter how good the movie is there will always be flaws. I embraced the prequel trilogy even with it's flaws and I plan to do the same with this. And let's be honest, as fans of the original trilogy do you really think we are the films primary target audience? This will spawn a whole new generation of Star Wars fans which we should all appreciate even if it isn't with the same adventure we've all come to enjoy and a standard we feel cannot be met. With that said, the one thing I did immediately like about that lightsaber was the sound. It both looked and sounded menacing which I thought was rather excellent. The part with the x-wings hugging the lake made me extremely giddy and was probably my favorite part. Yes, even over the score and the MF. I'm weird like that. I do wonder if that skirmish the MF was clearly in was the one where Boyega ends up crashing his TIE Fighter...
  6. Sort Search Compact. Please do this. It would be greatly appreciated.
  7. This is true. It is clear that this can only lead to one conclusion. This is not the real Shroud! He is a fake! An imposter! The real Shroud would have added it to that transmission! So maybe The Shroud really is dead?
  8. This will always be a hot topic. I generally agree that we need more playable species because, to me, it would make it feel even more like Star Wars to be fighting alongside a Rodian or a Natulan and so on/so forth. Though they have expressed difficulty in the matter. I would expect that they truly want to do this it's just a matter of time, priority and resources. New playable species will always get my support.
  9. Probably a Grey Jedi. I doubt I could submit to the Jedi teachings exact because I'd likely kill most people that tried to kill me. However, I'm also a generous person and often put others before myself. If I wasn't force sensitive, then I'd definitely rather just be out of the way.
  10. I'm with the OP. For a game that is so storied you would think they would pay attention to helping with the immersion of the Universe. They took a ton of shortcuts to bring the massive game together which is unfortunate. When I play, I can easily get distracted by my cloak falling through my mount, or starship fire coming out of nowhere while the intended starship is a bit off to one side or the other (or the bolts coming out sideways, or taking off from a planet and flying through a building, etc. I feel that these are relatively small fixes in the grand scheme of things that would help make the game better. It doesn't always take a huge expansion to make a game better. Though I'm not telling them to substitute a huge expansion for small fixes either. There should be a dedicated team to tackle the small issues.
  11. Ahhh memories. I remember leveling initially as a Jedi Shadow and being absolutely enthralled by the leveling game. This game was the first MMO (and only now that I think of it) that truly made me feel epic. My biggest complaint back then was that end game was nonexistent. Luckily times have changed and now we have plenty to do. This game has progressed tenfold thankfully, it's just too bad that it will always be weighed down by its previous state. I wish that wasn't so but I suppose we gamers don't easily forget?
  12. They simply don't have a large enough team to implement day/night cycles with everything they are trying to accomplish already (for better or worse). However, that doesn't mean I wouldn't support this implementation. I was always a bit disappointed with their decision to stick to a fixed time of day. There is no reason why they can't portray the blinding suns of Tatooine, or the picturesque dusk setting of Coruscant while still allowing for a day/night cycle. If anything a cycle will add more to a planets ambiance then a fixed point in time. Am I the only one who is curious what Tatooine looks like at night? Or Alderaan? Tython? The undertaking would be daunting of course. Which takes us back to the beginning of the post. They don't have the manpower to truly consider this. Which is a bummer of course because it can only enhance the game. Which makes me a bit surprised at how many people are vehemently opposed to it. How disheartening. EDIT: Not sure how true that is but it seems to be their answer for everything lol.
  13. I definitely support this. Such an awesome idea for an otherwise underutilized system in the game.
  14. There are plenty of bugs in this game they would define as "Small". Unfortunately, the butt bug is thrown in the same basket. They're excuse? Not enough time to fix all the small stuff. They'll hope we just give up complaining. To me, this bug falls into the category of laziness that you can see in other releases. Like cloaks falling through speeders for example. Really? Who signs off on the end stage of these small implementations and considers it go for launch? That conflicts with the nature of who I am personally. I can't count how often I've butt heads with upper management because I wouldn't release **** as an end product because I requested more time to release it properly. Does it piss them off? Yep. But they respect me for it and the customer appreciates it. It's frustrating to see so much take a backseat to the Cartel Market (which I love mind you). Hopefully they have plans to improve the overall quality of the game in anticipation of the upcoming movies? I feel that could potentially create an influx of new players who are new to the Star Wars Universe. Either way, they really need to sit back and truly consider adding a couple members to their team to make this game more polished. I don't think the game necessarily lacks in content (I do agree there should always be more on the horizon however), though I do think the constant cutting of corners can have a huge impact on the player base. It could be the difference between a player subscribing and not subscribing. tl;dr - Fix the butt bug among a host of others for the betterment of the game!
  15. I agree. It should at least be an option for those with high end PCs. Might want to put this in the Feedback and Suggestions forum. Maybe one day we'll be able to see this game in all its glory.
  16. I bought the Hypercrate: Shipment 1 Cartel Packs and got 3 Revan chests and 2 revan legs from it along with a couple super rare vanity pets and mounts. I gambled. And I won
  17. I'll have to add that book to my "Must Read" list. I couldn't imagine Yoda going to the Dark Side. That would be lights out for the Republic. I feel like Mace could do a whole lot of damage in his own right. I just wish he received more attention.
  18. Wasn't the book released originally in 2003? This book takes place between Episode 2 which was released in 2002 and Episode 3 which was released in 2005. And was a book George Lucas endorsed (or at least wrote a prologue for). I forgot to even mention his ability to see shatterpoints (go figure, its even the title); An exploitable weakness in any enemy or any situation. Something that is not always seen instantly and may not always be a single moment or place but almost always leads to destruction to those that oppose him and for which a shatterpoint is found. Beast mode.
  19. I just finished reading Shatterpoint and have come to the conclusion that the movies did him absolutely no justice. He created Vaapad which as described ,seemed damn near impenetrable and to master it a Jedi would have to literally balance themselves at the dividing line of the Light Side and Dark Side. With this in mind, how many Jedi would allow themselves so close to that threshold? Who, among the Jedi, would even consider it? This gave Mace, or anyone who had mastered it (Like Depa Billaba), in my mind, a greater ability in defensive and offensive situations over other Jedi. The book mentioned on several occasions how dangerous Vaapad really was and by simply allowing himself to dip into the Force so deeply was eating away at him, his humanity and would, if left unchecked almost certainly drag him to the Dark Side. I feel like Mace could have been such a better character. Trying to visualize Vaapad just doesn't do it justice. I wish I could see it. But that is another problem all together-- It wasn't that easy to see. To even Jedi Vaapad was nothing more than a wall of energy. How overwhelming would that be to see coming your way? Or taunting you to attack? And to think, in the book, Mace would use two lightsabers (his and Depa's) while in Vaapad. That just screams unbeatable to me.. I'm new to the EU. So maybe I haven't done enough research to feel Mace Windu has been given proper recognition. Maybe I still have much more to read to realize that he doesn't deserve such recognition at all? I wonder though, what if Mace Windu did fall to the Dark Side? Would he not be one of the most formidable Dark Jedis to ever live? If not the most? If it wasn't for his entire life being spent as a Jedi, and his strong belief and unwavering loyalty in the Jedi way Mace Windu would of sealed his own fate creating Vaapad and been an absolute force to be reckoned with when he finally did fall. To those that haven't read Shatterpoint and have even the slightest interest in who Mace Windu is, and why he is who he is, I'd suggest you read the book. It is an incredibly fun read. And to no one in particular and everyone all at once, what do you think of Mace Windu? Where does he rank in your mind as a Jedi? And where would he rank if he had become a Dark Jedi based off the power he would wield?
  20. I just started reading Star Wars novels and have been enjoying shatterpoint which is about Mace Windu during the Clone Wars. I've enjoyed the insight so far (only 4 chapters in) on who Mace is and what makes him tick. I've heard a lot of people say to start at the Thrawn trilogy. Though I couldn't help but to jump into some of the stories that extend the universe we know so well. I also have Labyrinth of Evil to read next. I read the first 2 SWTOR comics but I'm not really sure how I feel about them yet. They were my first comic books so I may have just read them wrong lol.
  21. lol this is the unfortunate truth. As much as I'd like to see an updated graphics engine I'm pretty sure 70% of the community would have trouble running the new engine.
  22. I don't think there was ever a mystery to begin with lol. It is just simply cringe worthy to play a Sith Republic side when the voice-over doesn't do it justice. Shame on me for purchasing the unlock with my cartel coins. I should have known the voice overs would be the same. Just seems like an oversight for a developer that takes such pride in its story telling.
