SWEET! Redownloading now....What about the old files though? Are they just going to sit there taking up space? I prob should uninstall it first huh?

So, i'll have to redownload the whole game each time or is this a one time deal? I mean, it would be quicker, but it's kind of an annoyance if it's going to take hours after each update.

I'm posting this here, because I am sure it's not a bug, since I have had issues with this for over a year, as has 2 other friends of mine who play....It seems like the first login we do after an update, we always have to go through a long process of "Reorganizing data" period. For instance, I have been waiting a half hour, and it's at 5%....I'm pretty sure it would be quicker to do a complete install from scratch(At least that way I could play a new toon on a starter planet quicker) I've searched the forums, and have noticed people suggesting setting the affinity for Bitraider and launcher to cores 0 and 1, but that doesn't work for me for some reason...Is there any other workaround for this, or is this something I have to endure?

Is there a simple leather eyepatch in this game? I know there's a metalic one you can get around Voss or so, but it's a bit too flashy for my tastes. I also know Cyborgs used to have a cybernetic piece that resembled an eyepatch(But I guess they removed that?)

I agree with most of what you said to a degree. Like I said, I bought it, but only because I didn't want to pay double later. You are wrong though about BW neer saying it would be free. Originally they DID say it would be included as a free content update, however that was before it went F2P, before F2P was even being considered. I also said, I don't mind paying for it though, as long as it's not an over priced ripoff, and if it turns out to be, BW will just have burned their own bridges, since most people won't buy future Expansions based on their experience with this one. I am not sure how I feel about BW going back on what they promised their subscribers, I understand WHY they did it, but don't entirely approve. Still, if it provides enough bang for my buck, i'll pay(Which I totally did.)

To be fair, anything cosmetic, BW should charge out the nose. If someone wants to pay just to look cool, let em! BW makes some money. Good for them. As long as it doesn't unbalance the game for the rest of us. Secondly, Nobody even really nows exactly what will be added in the EP completely. They just know bits and pieces. Sure, there's a lot of assumptions and guesses, but we have been pretty much in the dark in terms of content, at least as far as I know. If there has been concrete breakdown of everything included in the expansion somewhere, i would love to see it, because all I have found is a partial list. I'm assuming there must be more listed somewhere, otherwise most of these comparisons are pointless and have about as much validity as posting a review for the next upcoming Disney Starwars movie right now.

In an attempt to keep it on track, I partially agree with whats been said here. I would love to know more about the expansion, all they gave us in terms of info was "5 new levels, and a new planet", then they asked for 10 bucks. Yes, I did pre-order(Which totally could have gotten me like..3 boxes...just saying!) but only because i didnt want to pay 20, and I am assuming(And I know i could be wrong, and probably am wrong) that there will be a couple class quests. If there is, I am fine with 10 bucks. Doesn't change the fact that they are selling something sight unseen.

Are pre-paid cards for Cartel coins available in stores yet anywhere? I seem to recall them mentioning that they would be, and the gamestop and bestbuy would have exclusive pets with their card redemption, but I have yet to see them, and I would come more to buying them, if i saw them in the store, and had extra cash stuffed in my wallet(I hate adding anything more than my subscription to my credit card)

personally I am fine with the 9 bucks. It's 9 bucks, I don't even consider it "Paying for a new planet" I consider it, paying for the level cap increase and future quests(I am assuming class quests will continue there? they have been kinda vague), and paying a little extra for that, and help keep the game open? I'm fine with that! SWTOR is one of the best MMOs on the market in my opinion, and I don't have an issue with paying extra for expansion packs.

It would be a waste. Each class has it's own set of voice talents, they aren't going to change the game mechanics for a wookie, unless the story was about a wookie with a speech impediment. I mean, I would love to play as a wookie, but I would RATHER have an entirely new class with new storyline, than that same time wasted on a beast race. Not to mention the fact that beast races have different body proportions, which would mean they would need all new items that would fit their mesh(Unless they do like they do with companions and have the outfits never change) As for the comment that SOE has more skills? No, SOE just had a much more inferior product. They wouldn't HAVE to add all new speech for their wookie, because none had speech. They wouldn't have to add any new mannerisms or emotions because SOE chars are about as animated as an action figure. There's several BEAST classes I would like to play, but I understand it's not feasible.

So, I recently got a new computer, but unfortunately UI settings don't save serverside, and I am quite fond of my UI set-up, that took hours of placement to get "juuuuuuuuuuust right". I assume however, that the UI settings save client side, since it's not server side. Is there a way to grab those, and put them into my new PC so that I don't have to try and manually replicate the old look? Thanks in advance for any assistance.

While I would love to see a new class in TOR, this would not be one I would care to see. For various reasons, the first being, that it doesn't make sense. There are a total of 4 force users already in the game. Anymore is kind of overkill. Especially since you can already play a pretty nice and honorable sith or a mean rotten jedi. Why beat the proverbial horse? On top of that, a new class would most likely be sold in the marketplace, even to subscribers, since a race like Cathar will be marketplace. I am all for the class being in marketplace BTW, the ammount of work, resources and time that goes into a class SHOULD be charged extra for. However, having a 10 level or 1 chapter storyline that we buy, just wouldn't be worth it. The best parts of any of the class quests lines IMHO is the prologue and the first chapter. I love developing a personality for my character, and 1 chapter doesn't leave much room for those choice moments. Lastly, I am not a huge fan of force whips. That's something I am glad never made it into KOTOR games or the movie canon. SW:EU can keep that.

Yes, because CLEARLY Every expansion pack DOUBLES the content of the core pack! You clearly know nothing about expansion packs. Most expansion packs include between 5-10 level of additional content, as well as a 5-10 level cap increase. However, most expansions also include a new race/class(We are already getting the Cathar, Which despite peoples whining, I am actually looking forward to. I wish the race had a different voice, because I can see a Cathar sounding so perfectly human, but that applies to all the races in game(And sadly why the majority of my chars are human or cyborg..they could add a voice changer like they do when someone wears a helmet or rebreather) Also, Expansion packs don't contain the same amount of quests and land mass as the core game..if they did it would be a sequel not an expansion pack. Most expansions contain a new starting area, a little reworking of older quests and one LARGE new area. From my understanding, there won't be a new starting location or reworks of old quests, however I wouldn't say this prevents it from being an expansion pack. What is the size of this new planet? How much content will be there? Will it be story based or another PVP world? Just a raid world for end gaming or will it have SOLO content to expand on each classes story(Perhaps a 4th chapter?) I don't know any of this. If it does have that though, it IS an expansion by the same standards of every other expansion released by any other MMO.

Knew this was an April Fools thing before i started reading. I make it a habit to check out the websites of the MMORPGs that I play, since a lot of them do april fools jokes.. The sad thing though, is that I would actually enjoy something SIMILAR to this.

So far, all I have seen in this post, is people looking to argue and belittle. Right from the start, the OP was attacked and bashed for a simple question. He asked if the game was included completely with subscription, or if there were mini-purchases as well(Which is the case in WoW and more disappointingly, Star Trek Online, even before it went F2P) Everyone just decided to read the post as "This game shouldn't charge a subscription fee" or "This game is over charging" when that wasn't posted at ALL originally. Some people just have nothing better to do than argue and fight. In response to the original post, Yes. Everything is included in your subscription fee, as of this moment. Hopefully it stays that way. I don't mind a few cosmetic items being added for an additional cost, as long as theres some content (As well as some cosmetic options) being created for subscription costs as well. Now, your future statement about expansions packs being free, that SHOULD get you attacked, because that's insane! to the best of my knowledge all games charge for expansion packs, because of the amount of work put into it. I think most players of this game would HAPPILY plunk down extra cash for expansion packs. Myself included.

I read through some of the posts, and there seems to be a lot of people who are complaining that their shouldn't be new content without all the bugs being fixed. This is the most insane thing I have heard in my life. Do people actually think that there's only 1 or 2 people working on SWTOR? Do People not understand, that they can have people working on content as WELL as bug fixes, and that content patches usually contain both bug fixes as well as the content? I challenged anyone to show me an MMORPG that is completely bug free. None exist, because there will always be bugs in a game that is constantly evolving. Maybe these complainers have never played an MMORPG? I mean, if they had, then they would realize that Game Companies ALWAYS release content, even before the game is "Bug-Free". Some game companies even toss out an expansion pack before the games "Bug-free". Also, people complain the game still has bugs, yet they whine and complain when BioWare takes the servers down two nights in a row to fix bugs. Whatever. People need to learn how MMORPGs work. Keep up the great work BioWare, and understand that most people who play the game love it, and think you are doing an exceptional game. Keep up what you are doing, and you have a subscriber for life.

The patch looks great! Loving the game, and loving the content. Can't wait to see what Bioware has in store for us as the years come. This game just keeps getting better and better. I haven't been this hooked on an MMORPG since WoW(Right before I quit after the release of Burning Crusade, and realized that all their "New Content" was going to be essentially the old stuff just recolored.)

I would love to see this as well. One of my friends rolled a toon on another server, because we didnt know each other was playing. Would be cool to switch over to that server, also when I made my char, the server I picked was low population, now its very high, and personally, i prefer playing on medium pops, so switching to a lower population server would be ideal as well.

Odd, I spend more time playing the game, than I do seeing loading screens. and 250 internet? I spend that much for TV cable and Internet cable. Your internet must be truly impressive.

im not planning on quitting anytime soon. will i ever? only if BIOWARE quits adding content, but if they continue improving the game, adding content and in the future, releasing expansion packs, then they will continue getting my money. Personally, this game is perfect for me, I can solo a lot of the game, without getting hit in the face with a heroic +4 quest in the middle of a main storyline quest, and when im in a grouping mood, theres still plenty of group quests. Overall, it's perfect, and I couldn't hope for more.

I am looking to get a laptop, that will run TOR smoothly, even if its not on the highest graphics, but not the lowest. I use a desktop, but dont always have access to it, so a laptop would be ideal. You can, its not on by default, but under UI settings you can have it display both your companion and your stats for the hover tool of the item as a side-by-side.

Is it possible to ever alter your appearance in the game, or are you stuck with the appearance you picked when you first started? Just curious how hard i should consider the appearance access.

all new games include 30 day access..the grace period was just for early game access that preorders had.
