  1. Back during release I leveled to 50, cleared NM EV and KP and eventually quit when it became apparent that I'd be stuck repeating those two raids for quite some time. I've since recently rejoined the game. The option for limited F2P has meant that several of my friends, a few who also previously subscribed, have started the game to give it a shot and while we're having fun leveling. I know as soon as I hit cap the same problem will happen again. That being a lack of sufficient content to keep us entertained. So I had an idea. Let us reset our Class Story so we can do it again without leveling a new character. You could think of it as a new game + mode even. Boost the instanced parts to 50 and let us repeat it as many times as we want and while it might take a bit of work, maybe change the quest rewards from their previous items to something in line with normal EV or KP. That way you hit two birds with one stone, people who like the story and actually enjoy replaying content get satisfied and people who want to raid have an easy (It's already incredibly easy but that's neither here or now) path to achieve it. I can't speak for everyone but the reason TOR was a big deal for me in the leadup to release was the promise of that fourth pillar of story. The big disappointment for me was how the final act felt like it was setting the stage for an even bigger one only for it to fizzle out and leave us hanging. Act 3, for all the classes, should have ended with a monumental endgame style encounter and a short series of epilogue quests (even just talking it over with your crew would've been nice). The duels against Thanaton, Baras and Tormen were all fine but as final bosses they left a bit to be desired. We're talking multi-stage fights with terrain flying left and right, all your class abilities being pushed to the limit and the sum of all your actions taking effect. Even without that, by being able to repeat the story quests would give many of us a significant chunk of content without radically increasing the teams workload and while I can't speak for everyone, I'm sure many others would thoroughly enjoy repeating the class story. The other large problem, and probably the hardest one for either EA or Bioware to accept is oddly enough their attitude and it's something so ingrained into corporate culture that talking about it is probably pointless. That's the inability to own a mistake. No matter what choice you make, you'll still have idiots posting **** on forums all the time, either from genuine stupidity, not understanding the systems at play or in attempts to stir trouble. When you brush aside valid complaints, the issues that caused them don't suddenly go away and ignoring your own customers will only serve to engender resentment and disgust. The singular truth is that everyone, no matter how rich, famous, skilled, talented or positioned they are is capable of mistakes and only by owning up to them, by admitting to and acknowledging them, are you capable of learning from them. Your customers can survive content delays, they can endure the failure of the fourth pillar in the final moments, the cause of their discontent, what they objected to, was their treatment in those early days.
  2. There's nothing wrong with that encounter. It's long winded, it's a pain, but it isn't hard. I did it as a powertech/shield tech BH at 49 with mostly orange gear that hadn't been upgraded since 40-42, and even worse gear on mako. Minimise the damage you're taking by abusing LOS with the pillars near where they start. Interrupt the heals as best you can using electro dart, grapple, jet charge, quell, carbonize, mako's stun. You don't have to interrupt both of them but keeping them both damaged is essential, as long as they're healing themselves, they aren't healing each other. Decide on one target and while making sure to hit the other with aoe moves, focus your interrupts on that one. Frankly, if you have Mako out, upgraded your gear past 40-42, then it's really just a case of learning not to suck.
  3. It's not a war that would be won by the ground troops but rather entirely by naval success. It's no secret that the ships, weapons, armor and personnel required for a fleet can be built, trained, equipped and fielded in a far shorter time frame for the SW forces compared to the 40k ones. The advantage of reliable FTL, the (comparative) ease with which they can replace their losses. The SW factions should win.. eventually. Don't get me wrong though, the casualties would be truly horrific.
  4. Just to clarify a few things. You can't really begin her romance / background until you've cleared Act 1. You can raise her affection to cap but it'll do nothing before that point. You can marry her before boarding the Tyrant as long as you max her affection and complete her companion quests. Once you've married her, I think there's one more conversation and then that's it, no more until Bioware add it in. She starts sending you little sweet mails with attached gifts afterwards. They can be useful for leveling affection with your other companions. Easiest way to level affection with her ISN'T gifts. Do repeat runs of Black Talon, choose all the right options and you're looking at around 440-450 affection per run. This can be easily (and quickly) done as early as 25, having a speeder, avoiding every mob you can and near abusive use of space bar to skip scenes can have you doing a run in as little as 10-11 minutes. If you really want to save time, mix gifts in with each run and wham, she'll be capped in no time. The Black Talon runs don't seem to work for any other BH companion but it seems to work for the first companion of every class. Honestly, I farmed her affection to improve my mission and crafting times and instead got rewarded with, quite possibly, one of the best Bioware characters I've seen yet. I'd recommend romancing Mako to anyone playing a Bounty Hunter. Not for the romance but simply to get a glimpse at one of the most endearing characters I've seen in a video game recently.
  5. Honestly from the Empire's side, it's all pretty good. Sith Warrior/Inquisitor start getting interesting by about level 4 and then just keep on going. Forming your own cult, forging your own empire, dragging around your own slaves, torture, chaos and generally being the biggest *** you can be. Bonus points for those who somehow manage to get through it as Light Side when everything is tempting you to go Dark. Bounty Hunter is a case of your mileage may vary but it starts getting good about level 10, seems to be going nowhere then ramps up at 30, goes strong and then suddenly out of nowhere, everything hits the fan around 40.
  6. I get where you're coming from but honestly I prefer it the way it is. Rule of cool etc.
  7. Do the entire Taris zone, including Bonus series. There's a set of Mandalorian gear as quest rewards, best bit is, it's orange so you can keep upgrading it I'm sitting on 47 and thanks to the beauty of mods, it's still top rate.
  8. I don't know about the other classes but I can confirm that Bounty Hunter is a tonne of fun.
  9. Playing a different game while I wait. EDF: IA. It's the gamiest game to have ever gamed.
  10. This. I'm currently sitting in an 1800 queue, at the very end. And it's ok, if I couldn't deal with the queue I'd simply reroll. It isn't a big drama.
  11. Wasn't the word that this thread would auto-delete past 1000 posts? edit: Don't get me wrong, it's a good thing that it hasn't.
  12. The bonus wave thread is back.. Was it restored, temporarily locked, we'll never know.. What we do know is BONUS WAVE
  13. Just take off your robe and wizard hat and the rest will come naturally.
  14. The bonus wave thread got wiped. Nooooooooooooooooooooooo
  15. Every account that posts in this thread will get locked to that server.
  16. Let me guess... someone stole your sw-BONUS WAVE
  17. 6:43am here >.> In my defense I'm on a break from uni and was playing EDF:IA and Tribes:Ascend with a friend until he went to sleep an hour or so ago. Hmm.. He's had an hour, time to wake him up and continue the vidya.
  18. I think it's time to stop camping the forums and just go to sleep.
