It's understandable that not everyone agrees with the idea, doesn't really bother me, but I don't see what is so ridiculous about asking for the option. There are way weirder things going on in the star wars universe than "it wouldn't look right doing things one handed" Like super magic powers and crazy sci-fi monks swinging laser swords at people. I could also understand people making fun of the idea if there was no precedent for bounty hunters primarily using rifles but that isn't the case. Some people act like this is the most silly suggestion ever.

I'm pleasantly surprised to see I am not the only one who feels strongly about this issue, I was initially worried when I posted the thread that I would just get shot down for a million reasons I haven't even thought of yet. I guess though what it boils down to is, more customization cannot be bad, and for the fellow talking about compensating, there is no compensation issue here I just prefer a carbine/rifle to a pistol, if I am going to be decked out in heavy armor I just feel I could use more imposing weaponry and it adds something to separate it more from the merc class. And to be clear I have nothing against mercs, I am just not into dual pistol style combat, but I am glad that others have that option if it makes them happy.

I have been playing various MMORPGs since Ultima Online went live, then tried EQ, AC, DaOC, Shadowbane and WoW. The last time I enjoyed playing an MMORPG this much was during UO's glory years and that is saying something considering the differences in design between the two titles. Doesn't make me any better or more l337 than anyone else but I'd like to say this game is really enjoyable, does it have bugs? sure what MMO doesn't? does it need some tweaking? of course but it hasn't even been out for a month yet. People should post criticism if it is constructive, but these kinds of posts talking about how the game is dead already and nobody will play after the free month, strike me as unfairly premature. I can't speak for anyone else but I love this game so far and I intend to stick around long enough to give BW a chance. One thing I think new MMO developers should try to do is consider rolling out new content on a very regular schedule, close the enormous content gaps that are created in themepark MMO games.

Well if they choose not to make this happen I suppose I will just roll a Vanguard looking at the progression video the Vanguard looks more Mandalorian than the BH.

And that's great for you, but there are those of us who aren't happy with it the way it is, I don't want to get into an argument about resources or how much time it would take as neither of us are accountants for the company nor do we individually make decisions about resource allocation, I actually tend to get tired of people using this as an argument in MMORPG games I am merely putting out a complaint that I have with the class and I hope enough others feel the same to make our message heard and considered. More customization for players can not be a bad thing in my book.

Well the great thing about this suggestion is that those who still want to use the single pistol can, although I agree with the offhand thing as well for BH class as well.

I guess what I am ultimately saying is it's cool that mercenaries are for Fett fans but I am much more of a Canderous Ordo fan and it would be nice to see Power Tech embody this archetype especially when he became Mandalore the Presever

And I can understand that but honestly it's just more accurate to the storyline, when I was on Dromund Kass and fought the mandalorians with heavy blaster cannons I was like holy **** I want to be that guy but like I said I would settle for just having a rifle option. It just sucks being confined to this tiny little pistol while I am all tanked up in heavy armor..it's very unappealing.

I feel this would give our class a much needed appeal, not asking to be a trooper don't want grenades/stock butt/etc just the option to use say a mandalorian assault rifle on my heavily armored PT with appropriate animation. Perhaps my understanding is flawed but wasn't it much more common to see bounty hunters/mandalorians using rifles than the single/dual pistol combo? I understand why one AC went with pistols it makes sense as a lot of people like the Boba/Jango Fett archetype and that is fine but what about those of us that just want to be ****** blaster rifle using Mandalorians? I'm not advocating that it be forced, simply add the additional proficiency as an option, I just feel so lame duck being forced to use a single pistol
