I haven't played since before the server mergers. Whether or not I was on a PVP server before, I'm on one now, and I can't stand how one sided and ruthless the faction balance is. So naturally, I want to transfer off. The issue? My character name, which I've been using for almost 2 decades now, is taken on every other server. I highly doubt all of those accounts are active. Is there any way a GM will free up a name so I can transfer and keep mine? Most recent thing I've been able to find about the topic is from a few years ago, and people were getting generic answers and closed tickets.

It's late and I'm tired, so let me try and clear up what my question is. lol will it be more beneficial for me to start stacking shield/absorb or power once i'm at 400-ish defense, or should i keep stacking on the defense?

So I'm aware this is different for different tanking classes, but I was wondering how others were modding their gear and adding augments to their Guardian tank. I recently got into the debate with a few other people in my guild and there wasn't a clear answer. Some said stack Defense like no tomorrow, some said defense til 400-ish and then shield, and some say the same defense, but stack power. I guess i'm wondering which would make a better difference for me tank wise? I'm by no means squishy at the moment, but i just want to fidn the sweet spot stat wise between awesome aggro generation and mitigation.

Anybody know?

I remember reading a few weeks ago that either in 1.3 or 1.4, they want to add the ability to add augment slots to existing orange gear you can't craft. Is this true? I had the whole Jedi Battlelord set since launch and I don't want to perma shelf my favorite armor skin due to augments.

I'm not one to complain about the things going on with the game. It's barely a year old, and anybody here from the start knows you guys were rushed. You won't admit it, but the product tells the story, and i harbor no ill feelings for BW from this. It's why i give you some slack. But seriously, guys, can you please test your fixes before you patch them? I can reliably predict that with every fix, one and/or two things WILL happen. 1: The fix will do nothing at all. (EX: Companion implants, Kira romance, etc) 2: The fix might fix one thing, but it will create a dozen more problems. Seriously guys, how can 2 sound fixes in a row make a dozen more problems? How can a fix not work at all? Not like "oh well it kind of works", does. not. work. period. The game is out. There is no rush. Test your patches and fixes before applying them and breaking something else. I seriously can't remember another game where so many janky fixes came out back to back.

Anyone asking for a merger is obviously not a veteran MMO player. When MMOs close and merge servers, it's VERY bad news. It looks terrible for the game's health and does bad to its image. The answer to our problems is to have a free transfer system like Rift. Rift had the same problems until their system of free transfers were added. Once this system was in place, the problem servers took care of themselves. If people wanted high pop, they went there. If they wanted low pop, they went there. If it doesn't work out, you can transfer again in a week. You people will ignore this all you want, but a server merger is about 2-3 steps away from a game closing shop, and that is nowhere near the case for SWTOR.

Seriously, can we please make it where we can still turn in DNA if we can't already? PVP on a PVP server? I call bs on that. Your "PVP" hindered people from milking the last of their PVE content. It's not PVP when you tag somebody in combat and then don't kill them. It's griefing.

I agree, there needs to be a vendor to turn the DNA we have in. WE DO NOT NEED TO GET NEW DNA! If your server's Empire decided to be a bunch of d-bags and camp literally to the last second, we shouldn't be blammed. I got my titles, i got my crystals and pets. I just want one last box to try and get my kira skin. PLEASE, just let us turn in existing DNA. You're hurting nobody by doing this.

He isn't in the game community. He a a "writer" trying to get hits for the site. That's it. Relatively light end game? That's how i know he isn't a member of the community.

I really hope this world events team has something lined up for every new major patch like Rift.

So if i only have 4Gb of RAM there isn't a way for me to do this? The game runs great for me. The only problems i have are loading planets. It takes 1-2 minutes. Most annoying part of this game for me.

They're basically mutant zombies. I agree with you. They are both different things, but if you think Kaon isn't a small little nod to Left4Dead, then you haven't experienced either.

I'm just going to add stuff like this to my personal wall of crazy. I would love for more companion interaction.

My Smuggler and Trooper friend tell me tales of how their companions interact with each other. Corso mentioned shaving bowie, and a random convo late, bowie can be seen chasing corso around in the background. Or the hilarious story of two of my trooper friend's companions arguing randomly. Now i'm confused by this, because apparently all my companions act like it's just me and them on the ship. No cross companion activities, no gossip even. Hell, the both get random cinematics when they fly somewhere. Jedi Knights? Never seen one at all. And every companion quest is a shallow conversation about them. So what happened here? It's not enough that Consular's get the Master title before their story is over and i get it after doing SEVERAL spoiler worthy things, but i get stuck with the anti social crew?

The very first time i do a quest, i listen. After that, i space bar through so i don't waste time. The story to this game is great. I love it, but don't you dare BS me and say you sit there and listen/read to every quest on all your characters. On a new alt, i will listen to my class' responses and reactions and whatnot, but I don't believe a single person when they say they sit there and listen to all of it on every character.

I feel for the euros, i really do. It makes no sense whatsoever that BW does downtime during the time it does now. I'm sorry, but 2-3AM Central and Eastern time is the last few hours of gaming i do in a night. That means downtime happens at midnight PST time. This is without a doubt the most infuriating and ignorant thing i've seen done by a MMO company. Screw messing up and double billing people. Screw unpopular revisions. How si it acceptable at all to shut down the game and have it be during playable hours for so many people?

Under some cases, a Sentinel wearing orange smuggler gear is ok. But it is never, never, NEVER ok to wear under your maximum armor quality.

They need to reballance the HM FPs. As is, EV is WAY easier then the HM FPs. If you know what you're doing, a raid of people in blues can go in and clear it.

That's a cop out. The future? I'm sorry, but LOTRO, DCUO, AoC, CoH and the likes went F2P because they weren't making any profit. They farmville'd the hell out of their loyal customers and anybody else who decided to jump in. F2P is the last change a MMO makes to save itself from being shut down. The step before that is a server merger. I get that you people are upset about the population problems, but this isn't a new thing and it isn't a SWTOR thing. The only thing BW could and should do is offer free character transfers like Trion does for Rift. Until that option is available, you know the alternatives, you just don't like them.

BH wearing Sith robes? Wrong. Jedi wearing smuggler hat? Wrong. Smuggler wearing Inquisitor robes? Wrong. It's a cop out to say that orange gear is up for grabs. It's whoever needs it, then whoever can wear it, then whoever wants it. That's how it goes.

That's the good thing about a MMO. Everything can change. Also, not trying to be one of those people, but i'm sure they could consider anything for the legacy system seeing as how the BS'd it in the last, what? 3 months of beta?

This is insane. The best way to stop this is to make Ilum restricted to everybody but 50s, 40s at the very least. People can b**** and moan all they want, but there is no reason for anybody below those levels to be on Ilum other then the reason that's pissing everybody off.

Do you establish with a girl on the first date that you won't **** her? No. It's assumed you won't because we try to pretend we are decent people. So why should every group have to spell out what should be assumed by all? Unless it's a special situation, then the rules are indeed in effect.
