  1. Yeah, I noticed this on the first day, too. They should definitely give your current page number a different color than the other numbers just for clarity's sake. It's not a terrible, forum breaking problem, but it would be a nice little fix. If we've noticed it, I have no doubt that the csr folks who monitor the forums have noticed it as well.
  2. I suggest implementing two faction chat channels. These channels would be available by default for every character in every zone on every world. Currently, you have the 'general' chat tab and the 'other' chat tab. Simply add a third and fourth tab by default while still allowing players to remove them if they so choose. Although there are several good points about having universal faction channels, the most important is this: - They provide a sense of population even when you are in an area that may contain only a few people. A constantly scrolling chat channel certainly can have that effect. 1. The "Faction Help" channel. This channel would be universally available for every new player. It would be a place for them to ask more experienced players some questions about specific aspects of the game without having to tab out, post on the forum, and await an answer. This would also further build the feel of community within the game. Depending on what time it is and how many toons are in the current area, it may not be possible to get an answer to a question from the zone limited general channel. Having a universal help channel provides a way for some players to provide helpful advice and answers to questions while they are sitting in fleet monitoring the gtn, preparing for group content, or simply running in circles while bored. I distinctly recall the newb channel in EvE Online. It was extremely helpful when I was first starting out several years ago. There was always a healthy amount of heavily moderated chat going on in that channel. 2. The "Universal Faction" channel. Available by default in every location, players could use this channel to reach the entire online server population of their specific faction for the purposes of chatting, recruiting, selling items, or just talking some smack. As stated above, the most important thing that a faction channel brings to the game is a sense of population when your current zone doesn't look quite so populated. The second most important aspect of this channel is the utility in being able to speak to the entire population of your faction, for whatever purpose you may have.
  3. Although, I must say that the thought of an utterly insane GM roaming around in-game and killing players at random is more than a little amusing to me.
  4. *cough* Rakghoul plague *cough*
  5. Your humor inspires me, sir or madam.
  6. If BW decides to release a x-server tool, the toggle really isn't a bad idea at all. I think I mentioned the same thing in one of my posts a few months ago. Options are good.
  7. No. Patience, tolerance, and common courtesy are the first casualties of the x-server group finder. Combine that with the reality that you tend to run the instances until you reach the point that you are absolutely sick of them and you end up in an untenable position as a player: the love/hate relationship with your game.
  8. I'm waffling between a 6/10 and a 7/10, so I'll call it a 6.5 / 10 (which is a much higher rating than I could currently give any other mmo, including the "one that must not be named"). That's a lower rating than I would like to give this game. It's Star Wars, after all. SWTOR should be truly massive with much more end-game content and freedom than it currently has. I think the devs may be on the right track as far as future developments are concerned. We'll see, I suppose. I do enjoy the play-style. As others have stated, it is reminiscent of the burning crusade era (which was my favorite expansion). I by far prefer rotations over priorities, and my current class is definitely a rotation based class. It's cathartic. The cut-scenes are awesome. I could recommend swtor to friends based on the storylines alone. Legacy is an interesting concept that I like very much. Glad to see it in the game. I don't mind a theme park ride from level 1 up to max level, but at max level I want the theme park to end and real (or virtual) freedom to begin. That might just be me, though. Major criticisms: 1. Space (cost 2 points). The space game on rails was entertaining for a short while, but it has lost any and all of its appeal for me personally. I was utterly dismayed to discover that swtor did not have any sort of free-flight space aspect upon release. There are so many possible ships that they could put into the game, not just a few types that everyone must use. A decent space expansion could open up entirely new sections of crafting and spice up the gtn a little bit. Now, they're welcome to keep the rails mini-game alive for the folks who really enjoy it, but they should add a "Jump to Light Speed" type of expansion in the future, imo. 2. The daily grind. (cost 1 point) Dailies make me sad inside, no matter what game they're in. The idea of doing dailies in exchange for badges/commendations/etc is not likely to change in the near future. I understand that. Still, they make me cringe. 3. Lack of server based group finder tools. (cost 0.5 points) I recognize that such a tool is in the works, so I'll be glad to revise this point after the tool finds its way into the game. I think that adding this tool would grant them at least one more point on the scale of 1 to 10 depending on how they choose to implement it. edit: I do believe that this game has great potential for the future.
  9. I'd like to see a "Jump to Light Speed" style expansion.
  10. Primarily, I'm looking for a flashpoint group finder tool with hard mode and story mode options. I'm not at all opposed to having a group finder tool for other functions as well. I'd like to be able to queue up and then go take care of dailies or do whatever else I need to do while I wait for the queue to pop. While an operations group finder tool might not be a terrible idea in the abstract, I would be more concerned with unskilled players with no raid experience (who queue for a random/pug ops group out of curiosity) getting harassed, insulted, and generally treated like crap. As a side note, I honestly hope that you guys stick to your decision to keep the group finder limited to the server the player is located on. My experiences with "that other game" have shown me that x-server groups tend to lack tolerance, patience, and common courtesy. How many people will behave themselves when they know for a fact that there are no ramifications for what they say or what they do? In my experience, not many. Keep up the good work, BW. :-)
  11. I have noticed this, and it drives me bonkers, lol. I would definitely sign a petition for less loading screens.
  12. Hmm, well that's a bit better, yet it doesn't exactly minimize. Still, it gives access to the browser while leaving the game up in the background. Can't really complain about switching to full screen windowed, I suppose. Edit: thanks for the suggestion, btw. :-)
  13. Hmm, maybe it's more of a tech support issue rather than a suggestion box issue. Interesting that the mac doesn't experience this. Well, I'm sure somebody at Bioware would be interested in figuring out what's going on here. Not that it's game-breaking or anything, but simply from an intellectual curiosity point of view.
  14. So, 16 slots total? I could see that as some sort of legacy unlock. Not everyone would go for it, but it would provide the option for those who want one of everything. Options are good.
