  1. The part thats odd there is why some recorded lines and some not? Like why wouldn't they just record all the lines in one hit while the actors already there to do it? Bioware used to write/record the actual story months in advance. They did it in chunks of story at a time if you get what I mean.
  2. If VAs arent such a big deal, why are they tossing us unvoiced lines?
  3. Maybe I should have bolded the part that says for those who do?
  4. If you add in flight costs, accommodation and the recording studio it adds up fast, especially if its only for an hour or two of work (sometimes even less). Either the game company or the VAs have to foot that bill. Many VAs have the setups already 1) from covid 2) because they stream or create other online content. There's no reason not to utilise that for those who do. Many would even prefer that to a couple of days away from their families for a little bit of work, or because it lets them do even more work if they don't have travel taking up time.
  5. Same. Including the Arcann romance I've been holding off on doing until something like this gave me a reason to do it. Only been waiting 4yrs or so. 🤣
  6. Recording studios and moving actors around is what costs the big $$ usually. If they aren't already doing it, they should be getting them to record from home since most set that up during covid. Recording studios can be crazy expensive.
  7. I was just thinking if some of the bigger names are costing too much, would it be worthwhile recasting some? For me I'd rather voiced over not voiced and as much as I love some of the actors and would hate them having to be changed, I'd still rather that than no story or unvoiced story if it came to that. 11 years is a long time. In TV shows actors often come and go during that time. Realistically it's a long time to expect one actor to stick around for, especially with the drop in popularity. I'd still rather the game go on and to be able to hear my characters emotions etc even if it has to be a different voice.
  8. Thats a big if though. If the rules aren't in place *yet* one would assume for the moment, its each actors individual choice until they are. Maybe some don't wanna go near it just incase, and that's understandable, maybe some do. Only way to know is to ask, right? Hopefully when rules are properly established they'll be setup in a way that benifits everyone though, VAs, AI developers and game developers all. That's all we can hope 🤞. That they can find that happy spot that works for all. Such as exceptions for lack of availability on longer term projects and such.
  9. Other than equipment a lot of that isn't used as widly anymore since covid. Most VAs setup their own home studios to record from and don't even need/use studios anymore. A few places demand it again but many don't and it's gotta be easier than travelling all over just to record a few lines. Not to mention cheaper given the cost of recording studios vrs at home studios.
  10. Depends on how its done. If they ask the actors and pay them, that's fine. Especially if availability is the issue with some. If they just do it without permission, those actors are never coming back again.
  11. That was also the reasons I gave when I unsubbed a few years ago. Going through the content I've missed since, it's sad to see that didn't improve at all in that time and that about 3yrs of story drops to catch up on was maybe the equivalent of 4 chapters that they used to kick out once a month. It's sad to see how far the games dropped in terms of content/story releases. If they had of kept up with the frequency of story drops after KOTFE/KOTET the game wouldn't have bled so many players. Story players made up a big chunk of the player base back then, but they listened to the vocal few on the forums instead. Now I doubt they've the budget to do anything about it. I know that was EAs doing and not broadsword, but its sad to see how far the games population has fallen. Anyway, looking forward to the date nights, maybe enough will resub that they can get them out a bit faster 🤞.
  12. I can't transfer my characters to SV since I only just resubbed. Looking forward to replaying some characters on the new server after catching up my SS characters though. Dabbling in some pvp without a terrible ping could be fun again at some point (I expect it to take me a while).
  13. I like options! The more options the better! A couple of the more popular sets in the game over the years could be considered more casual (Sensual Dress, Resort swimwear, relaxed vestments etc). Just don't want all my girls looking exactly the same though by dressing them in variations of a few different outfits. Anyway, was just a thought, especially if it'd sell some more cartel items. Some unapologetically like dress-ups
  14. A big majority of outfits are armor based outfits. I'd like to see some more casual/off-duty style outfits as well, especially with date nights coming up. It'd look weird to go on dates dressed in full armor or on-duty uniforms.
  15. The sadist in me does enjoy a good run in with Satele while with a romanced Theron! Especially when I am on my JK. She's pretty much doing what Satele never could, juggling romance while being a Jedi with her son,it's kinda poetic. 🤣🤣
  16. As much as I also miss Aric, I'm 100% fine with Theron spoiling as well!
  17. I always found I needed to run just a few heroics between some planets when just doing the class story to stay leveled with the class missions. Just a few quicker and easier ones is usually enough if you don't waanna repeat planet storylines along the way. [Edit] mostly to avoid having to ever do Makeb again, so I'd be leveled enough by the end to jump right into SoR.
  18. I resubbed as soon as I read about the date nights. We've been asking for them since Kotfe/Kotet. Glad to see someone finally listened! If they keep up with companion content, I'll keep up with the sub!
  19. I saw this news and instantly resubbed. Feels good to have a reason to want to play again and catch up my characters on the story, been a while!
  20. Not sure why I can still forum post but I let my account sub run out a couple of days ago, first time in 6+ years. Devs ignoring what people actually want eventually wears you down to just giving up entirely. Not even sure they care about people speaking with their wallets anymore but thats what I did anyways. Majority of the community here is great, a shame the games on going development isn't equally so. Wish you all luck <3
  21. If it's an exploit they won't generally address or discuss it, until it's sorted out. The more that info gets out the more people abuse it, so they try to keep a lid on the details getting loose on public forums.
  22. If its just the characters and not legacy / achievements then not that big of a deal. Would loose some titles, flares, outfits and dyes though which could get costly. Achievements takes the most time to do out of everything. Characters are just leveling mostly which doesn't take that long, I'm also not opposed to replaying story so that part I'd even enjoy. Would I stay subbed? Who knows, on the verge of unsubbing for a while (first time in 6+yrs) to sub in another game anyway, it definitely wouldn't be incentive not to.
  23. You need to walk over the top of them/stand right on them. The newer ones arent click activated
  24. If you do more then watch the movies and actually follow the entire lore of SW, finding ancient tech like Iokath and trying to gain control over it is quiet common. Even the cloning tech the empire had wasn't created, it was found. The Rakata tech on Belsavis - functionality still mostly unknown - is a good example. Including the insta teleport system there. The Starforge in KOTOR. Again a perfect example. It amuses me when people say it's not star warsy, yet all evidence everywhere would say that it's perfectly inline with everything Star Wars. The entire SW universe is filled with undiscovered ancient technology of varying degrees of usefulness and destructive capabilities. Not only is it star wars, it's literally everything SW is built on. As is the alliance - which is exactly whats created by the rebellion after the defeat of the empire, in the books they go on to form the alliance. It's a cycle that happens over and over again, all part of George Lucas' vision for Star Wars movies, extended universe and beyond. It doesn't get more Star Wars then all the events that have taken place in this game so far.
