  1. I am on Death Wind Corridor and the fleet hasn't had more than 30 people whenever I sign on (Usually around 10pm EST) Doing PvP I usually have at least 20 minutes in between games if I am lucky. My opinion is they should take the low populated servers and merge them and NOT do transfers. I want to sign in and see 200 people in fleet and go..."*** happened?" not be told "Hey! you can transfer to whatever server you want for free!".....do the work for me so all my friends and I can continue to play together without any disruption.
  2. SWTOR should NEVER be F2P... Free games bring in the riff raff. Riff raff that I don't want to play with. great night clubs have expensive door charges for a reason....cuz if anyone could just walk in....anyone would just walk in. I will gladly continue to pay for this game.
  3. How about "The Asteroid Field" during Space Combat? Both a movie track as well as music from N64's Shadows Of The Empire. That would be dope.
  4. I enjoyed the event. I would like more Republic/Empire conflict events in the future. Something that mixes PvP and PvE and has more of a lasting effect. A lot of the story lines and missions deal with fighting for territory and the war. What if there was an open non-flashpoint event to fight for a base. There could be NPC's from either side shooting at each other and it would promote more open world PvP. After a fair amount of time crown a winner. So it would be an official Republic or Empire base that wasn't there before. This would promote some aggression between factions as well as have some nice prices..Instead of collecting DNA you could collect "dog tags" of opposing faction. Some PvE rewards, some PvP rewards. It would have to be well thought out (I'll leave the experts to manage that) but I think it could definitely work.
  5. I have max affection with Ashara and honestly I expected a bit more. I don't care about companion dailies or more dialogue. I just wish Max affection did more. I got Treasure Hunting and spent a lot of credits and companion time getting Companion gifts for her. All I got now is a couple crappy gifts in the mail and +10 presence. How about a better ability for the companion? or How about a customization at least? Maybe a better spec for crew skills? (like instead of +5 it goes to +10?) I am not asking for the world, I just thought I would get a little more for the effort.
  6. I know I have another thread floating around with this idea, but I wanted to elaborate more on this idea. CHANGING FACTION The idea is very simple. Giving players an option to switch teams. From Empire to Republic and vise versa. Here's how I think it could work. When bioware decides that a level expansion is necessary (Similar to how WoW up'd levels with every big patch) it would be the perfect time to implement this. Fully DARK spec'd Republic players should have an option to defect and join the empire, while fully LIGHT spec'd players should have the option of "seeing the light" and joining the Republic. For example. Let's say I am a level 50 Jedi Knight whose as far as I can go Dark wise. I have done all the dailies and been pvping. Never joined a guild and like to play solo, but want a change of scenery. At Level 52 in your Story a Sith approaches you with an offer to sneak him Republic intel. He say's something like "We've noticed your special skill set and the Empire wants you, and unlike the Republic, will show respect and admiration to someone so well versed in the force." At this point you can choose LIGHT and kill the sith, or choose DARK and do as he says. Once you choose dark your story continues down that road until you reach let's say level 58 where you officially change sides. becoming a "Sith Knight" For the last 2 levels you work for the Empire, meet certain people of interest who welcome you, and at the last story mode missions fight and kill your previous master and comrades, fully accepting the dark side. All trainers on Empire side would still be able to train you. Knights could wear Empire equivalent gear (Warriors). Your ship would remain the same although redecorated as an Empire ship with new droid. You'd get new companion missions swaying them to accept your choice of going to Empire side. Maybe even loose a companion who disagrees and pick up a new one once switched to the Empire side. You would have the ability to learn a few new "dark side" spells. (Those who stay on Republic-light side would have their own special spells) There could be a Defector Vendor in the Imperial Fleet specifically set up to sell defectors certain Republic gear that may be needed by Knights and other previous Republic players. I think this would add a lot more uniqueness in characters and players as well as a more in depth story line. I don't think it would mess up the lore too much since there have been Jedi who have turned to the dark side, just as there have been Sith who have seen the light. I think every class should have the option to switch factions if they spec correctly. I personally would love to have my Counselor, who is the son of my Inquisitor on the family tree, to dark spec and defy the Jedi, realizing the power of his father and the darkside and defect, joining the Sith. What do you guys all think? Good idea?......I don't want this thread to turn into "I think bioware needs to fix X first before we look at this"......This is and idea for way down the road...Not patch 1.3.
  7. Totally agree with you good sir...even if you are Republic
  8. Hopefully not the same one as you. What I am saying is this is not a big deal and they have the right to delay it. Getting a free sub...Or $20...to make it all better is stupid. Wait a month...they aren't messing around with you they are making sure they don't release something thats not ready....Be patient or leave. Simple.
  9. what's a month sub? $20? Don't be cheap. If you are that upset about a hard decision they made quit and you'll never have to pay again. It would save you A LOT of money.
  10. If you like the game play...If you don't quit. Giving you a free month due to a tough decision made on their end about their game that they created is pretty stupid. Be patient and understanding....or don't and stop paying....
  11. CHANGING SIDES Another idea I had was the ability to change sides. So let's say you are a Sith Warrior and you are the highest level of light side. Never once did you choose the dark side in any of your missions. I think you should be able to switch allegiances and become Jedi or at least work for the Republic. Same goes for Jedi. If you spec darkside you should be able to join the Empire and become Sith. Just an idea. It would definitely keep things interesting. I would love to level up a Jedi knowing that I could turn him to the dark side. It would be like Revan or Anakin Skywalker.
  12. Yeahhh....this is exactly what I DIDN'T make this thread for. I don't care about your problems or where you think bioware screwed up. If you don't like the game quit. I am talking about CREATIVE add ons for the future....I am not coming up with ideas that I want BEFORE bioware fixes its problems, I am talking about when they're ready to add more content or a huge add on (Like Burning Crusades of WoW) these are some things they could consider. The constant complaining gets you no where.
  13. I can see people not liking that Norbix....Which is why every idea (not just mine) bioware needs to thoroughly go over before they decide to inplement anything.
  14. Hey Guys, I am not creating this thread to start an argument over what ideas are better than others or what bioware should invest their time and money into first....I just had some "morning shower" ideas that I wanted to share. Some of these ideas may already be on the forums. If that's the case I apologize. I am not skimming through hundreds of posts to see if anyone beat me to the punch. Anyways....Here we go. GUILD SHIP I am not a part of any guild currently, but think this would be something to look into. Right now, in terms of ships, all we have are our individual ships that we use for transport, a few missions, and the arcade shooter game. What if there were bigger ships, just for advanced guilds, where all the members could meet up? A special hanger that you could only have access too if you were in the guild. The ship could be used to transport larger groups of people at once. Maybe have a group lockbox for sharing or group space combat (picture having one person driving, with 5 or 6 turrent gunners). It would give encouragement for "team" building and add another level to the game. CHOOSING FACTION ALIGNMENT I remember WoW had this, but have not seen it in this game yet. What if there were different "forks" along a characters journey where they had to choose a side? Nothing that would affect the Republic or Empire, but your alignment with different world communities. For example, Lets say the Mandalorians are at odds with the Hutts. You have to choose....Do I support the Mandalorians or Hutts? Once you make your choice the opposite faction now becomes your enemy, and the faction you align yourself with becomes friendly offering flight paths, vendors, and quests. Each choice effects your character. Maybe siding with the Mandalorians gives you some different gear or even a different companion. Siding with the Hutts could get you more money or effects your story mode in terms of dealing with Hutts throughout the Galaxy (They might be meaner or friendlier giving a different conversation depending on alignment). MVP BASE So your level 50, a great PvPer, got all the gear you need, all the money you could use, what now? What if there was something special for the top dog on the server? Lets say your a Sith Warrior. You have won almost every PvP you've been in. Have social and valor almost maxed, have gotten to a playing level that few can compare to. You should be recognized throughout the galaxy and even have your own area. The location of the base would be on its own, in an area a way on a planet away from same faction or even opposite faction places. Nothing huge, but a place thats YOURS with the ability to choose a couple body guards. Whatever race or species you want. They don't travel with you, but help guard your "office" along with some empire troopers. The base could have a large lockbox, maybe even a speeder that ONLY can be used by those who have their own base. It could have a flightpath (which would be cool for other players to see your name when choosing flightpath), it could even have A private shuttle to take you to your ship. Now, This would be a bit or programming. (each class having an "MVP" is a lot), BUT now Mr. Superstar has to be on his toes, has to be online more than usual, because his base could be under attack. If a person(s) of the opposite faction destroys his base....It will remain destroyed. Gone. Until it is reset maybe on a bi-weekly or even monthly basis...BUT thats not all Mr. Superstar has to worry about. If another person of the SAME faction does BETTER than him (better PvP rank, better social, whatever)....The person will no longer be top dog and therefore will loose his base to the new king. This idea may be a little far fetch or need some tweeking if it ever is going to be implemented, but I think offering something that has some real status and can be seen by the people across the galaxy(server) is definitely a cool idea. If anyone wants to add anymore ideas feel free. This just all popped into my head this morning and I wanted to share!
  15. I went with Nerostar. It sounds pretty cool. I got Nero from a music group I love and Star....because there are so many things in STAR wars that deal with star....Death Star, Star Destroyer, Starship, etc.
  16. Great Thread! I actually use a Radeon HD 4890 graphics card and it works great. On other forums a lot of people say it's inferior but it actually runs really well
  17. I loved the original trilogy a lot more than then the prequels....Here are my pros and cons of the prequels. PROS - Epic lightsaber fighting. Loved the choreography - A view into more/different planets - A decent story line leading up the the classic originals CONS - HORRIBLE comic relief. (Jar Jar is the most popular example) - Some piss poor scripting...admit it there was a lot of cheese - Bad casting. I think Obiwan and Anakin especially could have had better actors for. - Too much CGI. I know it's hard to NOT have CGI in present day fantasy/scifi movies....but these films had A LOT. I think the story line was awesome and I am glad they did the prequels. I guess if I was George I just would have approached them a bit differently.
  18. Did you all watch the cinematic trailers for this game? They had real Star Wars music... You'd think since they advertise with real John Williams tracks....some of them would make their way into the game.
  19. Here's my view on this... I have been wanting a purple saber since before I even bought the game. I thought the purple would be a cool contrast to the red pureblood sith I was gonna create. I honestly do not care about what the TRUE story is behind the colored light sabers. To me keeping this game "authentic" is a failed attempt. My characters name is "Midsyde"......Do you remember reading about any "Midsyde" in the books? NO because we all as players are doing our own thing. That being said I think anyone should be able to customize solid colors. I don't care if it costs money or commendations but come on....We should enjoy the leveling process and if having our favorite color as a light saber that should be allowed. The whole split colors and black or white sabers....go ahead and keep those for the high levels I don't care....but for me choosing between red and orange....just not cutting it for me. PS - I also had how light side and dark side HAVE to have different colors.....if I want a blue saber I shouldn't be "forbidden" to use it....I do what I want! isn't that part of being a sith?
  20. I put a third party Zalmann fan on my Radeon 4890 graphics card. Works like a champ. Fan is much bigger than the one that came on. Card seems to run much cooler and I have had no issues with temperature.
  21. I hate the color system for the light sabers. I am a dark sith....but I am "forbidden" to use green or blue lightsaber crystals....why? If I come across a green crystal with good specs I want to use it. I also don't understand why colors are so limited. Custom colors should be a privileged option. Your level 50 and your favorite color is magenta? you should be able to make that your saber color. More options = more unique players. Anything to prevent "clones" I support.
  22. Really? first off installing and "maintenance" are not a hassle if you have any computer background. and $200?.....do you have morals or something? PIRATE IT.
  23. Rebooting the computer to run SWTOR isn't worth it?...then why play the game? I seriously do not use windows for ANYTHING besides this game. I am not a fan of windows at all. I was raised on Macs since the old "green-screen" days.... Going through the whole process of buying a new hard drive, installing and setting up Windows, customizing the boot loader to give me an option of boot drives, etc etc is completely worth it to me just to play this game. Listen I would love it to be on Mac just as much as any other mac enthusiast. But as the forums show there are many more important tasks for Bioware to work on other than reworking the whole game for Mac so people don't have to go through the exhausting difficulty of rebooting a computer.
  24. You could always do what I did... I wanted a Mac Pro a few years ago but instead built a hackintosh for a fraction of the cost. Works great with Final Cut Pro, Pro Tools 8, and other intensive programs. When SWTOR came out a bought a drive and put windows 7 on it. Now every time I start my computer I just choose which operating system I want to boot into and BAM I am in. I have an i7 processor with a Radeon 4890 graphics card. I have no problems on either platform and my computer gets 80-100 fps on SWTOR (25-30ish in space station)
  25. The only reason I chose Empire side is because it fits me better... I don't care which side is more "developed" or which side has better specs. I picked the empire because if this was real life...I would be on the side of the empire. Plain and simple.
