Honestly, I doubt an OC would have provided the performance bump you were seeking. Even a modest OC would only yield a 2-4 frames per second improvement. You would still be dipping below 60 fps at times. An OC would just reduce the number of times it drops below 60 over a measured period of time. Have you tried disabling shadows or recording on a low pop server where there are less players to impact performance? There are also some planets that you will want to avoid since they tend to have fps issues due to poor optimization of the game code. I know Quesh and Belsavis are both notorious for horrible framerates while visiting those planets.

And I think that takes a backseat simply because EA/Bio doesn't have the resources to overhaul a game engine. What the OP is asking for is basically to dump the existing game engine and designed a new one to replace it. Which is exactly how Sqeenix saved FF14 when they relaunched as a Realm Reborn. When Square set out to replace the game engine in FF14 they were beginning with an engine they had developed specifically for the game. They already had a division of the company that was fully staffed with the resources needed to develop a game engine. EA/Bio licensed a game engine from another company (one that was still in beta, I might add) then customized it heavily for their game. Once the customization of the engine was complete, the resources that went into that aspect of the game were redistributed within the companies. To expect EA/Bio to be able to do the same thing Sqeenix did, is a bit of a reach in my opinion because they do not have the expertise or resources that are required to fully develop a game engine on their own. There is no need to even evaluate the risk vs reward of a project when the company clearly lacks the resources to do the project.

The event was poorly conceived, of this there is little doubt. It is optional though and expecting to just be handed the rewards without participating in the event while it's live is just entitled foolishness in my opinion.

Toxicity is something I've encountered in every gaming forums that isn't severely moderated. What I've learned over the years is the only thing you can really control in this regard, is how you respond and react to their behavior.

I found my missing characters! In my absence I either forgot that the character selection screen has multiple pages of characters, or the UI has been updated and I didn't notice the arrows to move between pages and kept trying to scroll down to find the rest of my characters. I flit back and forth between so many MMOs it's hard to keep them all straight in my head and I sometimes get UI features for one game mixed up with another for a day or two when I switch back to one I haven't played in a long time.

Is there any kind of activity log either in game or online that I may not be aware of that might indicate how or when a player character was deleted? I just resubbed after a year away thinking now might be a decent time to catch on up on the story, but I noticed something odd after logging in for the first time in nearly a year. Basically, several of my characters are missing. I know I leveled a couple of Jedi to 60 and a Bounty Hunter to 60 during the last 12xp event. However, I no longer have credit for those class stories and I don't have those characters on my account any longer. All of my other level 60s are all right where I left them a year ago. There doesn't appear to be anything missing from any of them that might indicate my account was hacked, and I've had an authenticator attached the whole time as well, so I'm confident it wasn't a hack. I just don't remember deleting these characters and can't even be certain if they are missing or I just deleted them a year ago and forgot. On the bright side though, I guess this means I won't run out of things to do for a while.

It's quite rare. I only know of 1 game that succeeded with this type of change, and it was a very special situation. Final Fantasy XIV had an initial launch that will always be remembered as an abysmal failure. The game had a good enough engine performance-wise, but the game mechanics and combat systems had critical failures that resulted from poor decisions made when designing the game engine. They made the game free to play and took the game back to the drawing board with a completely new dev team and one of the first decisions made was to replace the game engine. However, it's important to note that the first launch of the game had a game engine the studio had built in-house specifically for the game. The engine that replaced it was also designed in-house, so it was fairly easy for them to design a new engine that included most to all of the original features, but with significant improvements and extensions. This allowed them to pull the old engine and plug in a new one rather easily. There was another MMO that used a third party engine in the same fashion that SWTOR does that attempted this type of engine replacement, but 7 years later there were still working on the project with no end in sight. I can't remember the name of that game for the life of me. Suffice it to say thought, that an engine replacement for SWTOR is most likely never going to happen.

I've had zero issues since upgrading to Windows 10. As long as you are sure there are new drivers for all of your hardware components, then I see no reason to delay. A friend of mine who has a 5 year old HP laptop encountered a few issues because there hasn't been a new driver release for his integrated graphics chipset or his integrated sound device since Windows 7, but the upgrade still went very smooth for him. He just had to manually install the Windows 7 drivers and then manually choose them for the devices in Device Manager.

Are you using the stock Intel HSF, after-market air cooler, AIO closed-loop water cooler, or custom loop water cooling? Your cooling solution is pivotal as the first step to a successful overclock. Overclocking results in significant increases to the amount of heat the cpu will generate and without adequate cooling you will fry that new chip. If you need help with your overclock. Every motherboard is different for how you achieve your overclock. Some boards are incredibly easy and only require a few settings to be changed in the BIOS, while other boards can be more complex. If you are patient though and do your research, it's not too difficult to get the overclock that you want to run stable.
