  1. As glad as I am to have this back, the way you are describing will not be useful to me. Given optimally you want to maintain at least one UH/TA at all times for the damage/heal bonus, what we want is the chuckle on TA for every UH/TA when previously you had zero /or/ one. That way we know when we have a free heal to use/etc without having to look at our buff bar. Doing it just on the first is fun and all as a purely cosmetic thing but not at all useful as a feedback item during actual use.
  2. Dec 21st... that way no one can say it went f2p in the first year
  3. There is a thread set aside for f2p questions, here http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=546823
  4. Have you checked out the pilot sets that the fleet commendation vendor has? It would require you to do some space combat but they are very much what you are talking about.
  5. In fact it is now confirmed that it is a typo: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=544668
  6. That appears to be a typo, the other language pages have it correct. So either the other language pages have it wrong in a sensible fashion that is consistent with the phrasing of "full access" or the english one has it inconsistent Frankly it looks like someone cut and paste something and forgot to edit it..
  7. My only concern with the restrictions center around the emergency fleet pass. Right now as a subscriber we get: 18h cooldown emergency fleet pass option to buy for 1000 in game credits separate fleet passes if we have a security key After as a subscriber it sound like we get: 18h cooldown emergency fleet pass option to buy for real money separate fleet passes or are they keeping the security key vendor and passes there and make them an option as well? Either way it sounds like I am going to stock up just in case.
  8. This is a common phenomena. There are a lot of people who suffer vertigo/motion sickness when playing video games. You might check with your healtchare professional as I have heard there are effective treatments in some cases. Either way good luck.
  9. This doesn't explain why they were removed from Karaga's Nightmare Mode.
  10. Star wars galaxies: Released 26 Jun 2003 First major feature upgrade (Force sensitives unlocked) 7 Nov 2003 Space finally opened 27 October 2004 (over a year after release on an IP with "star" in the name) TOR is way faster with content updates compared to other MMOs with the same IP.
  11. Two points I would make on that: 1. That ship has already sailed... using the font that is in the game there is little difference between say "little" and "lïttle" especially at a glance. There is nothing stopping me from making someone with your almost exact name and legacy name, character appearance/etc and wandering around being a troll. 2. With the elimination of the illusion of Legacy names as unique descriptors and hence the source of reputation spreading, this should become less of a problem because people won't expect the legacy to be unique. The choice to have no unique identifier across multiple characters on the same account can be debated but in some ways the problem is moot as if one character annoys you enough to have a negative reputation, you will quickly learn the new character names and add them to your /ignore list as they annoy you. Having a unique identifier is a time saver but lets be honest, right now it is too easy to manipulate.
  12. I am getting a sense of damn kids get off my lawn. Not trolling, just trying to get people to open their mind a bit. I have seen very very little of the type of behavior you are describing on my server. Most folks are extremely helpful and fun to talk with. Now as someone who has been online gaming since the days of BBS doors, I can tell you objectively it hasn't changed much in the attitudes. I remember BBSs dedicated to what we would now call trolling. Hell trolling and flame wars (the terms, not the activity) were coined in the days of usenet before the popularization of MMOs. I remember the Gods and Goddesses of many a MUD/MUSH get frustrated over disruptive elements of their community. The big difference people are seeing is increased population. We have a selective filter as human bieng which make the stuff that annoy us float to the top of our perception. [for example how many people instantly noticed I didn't pluralize and mis-spelled beings?] With large populations even a relatively small % of for lack of a better term a-holes will be perceived as filled with a-holes because all it takes is one loud one to be seen and disrupt good community. It's always easier to disrupt than it is to build. That is why /ignore exists. As for the trolls/a-holes that might be reading this now, think real hard about how you are deriving your self worth.
  13. Character first names are easier to generate something interesting randomly (all my character names used the random name generator). People generally want their legacy names to be somewhat more descriptive/understandable. With the game going free to play, it becomes easy for people to camp the more descriptive/desireable legacy names and thus cause people trouble trying to come up with stupid alternate spellings/etc to overcome the fact that there really are a limited number of these. Basically it is to avoid all the zzSkywalkerzz s and the like. I would rather have a fleet full of Skywalkers than a fleet full of zzSywalkerzz Škywalker, Sķywalker, Cloudstrider, Spacewalker, Skyambulator etc...
  14. Is this the same designer that thinks/claims LI HM is balanced for tionese?
  15. Simple solution, make /stuck not work within a certain timeframe of a pvp action. They already track that so as to allow unflag pvp... so why not just base it on that instead of some arbitrary cooldown?
  16. I can't believe through all the pages (I read them all) this one has never been mentioned.... PLEASE let me copy text from chat.... so say someone sends their vent info or a webpage in a tell or in group, I can actually copy it and paste it instead of having to change my graphics settings to windowed mode and play the ok can I fit the two windows and still see the text game. I have to run fullscreen mode as the game runs much smoother that way on my machine, this is just tedious and annoying. Other papercuts: Allow us to pause our group finder queue without losing our "place", just let people skip ahead of us if we are paused... Why? DPS. I have tanks, healers and dps... the tanks and healers never have problems finding an FP. When I log into my sniper, it has sometimes taken over an hour for a queue to pop. Right now if I have to go to the bathroom or some other function, I either have to leave it in the queue and hope it doesn't pop (thus causing frustration for others when it does) or lose my place in line and have to wait another hour. Techstaves (I think that is what they are called, or is it vibrostaves?) should count as a double bladed lightsaber for shadow/assassin powers. Please remember where I put my chat windows between logout and login. I /think/ it is only remembering the last character because when I log in to an alt, I find them moved randomly to different places and always have to re-organize them again.
  17. Soon ™ Alternately... don't make me turn this speeder around. And... see I'm not touching you!
  18. Gencon 2011: 36,733 (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gen_Con) PAX East 2011: 69,500 (http://www.joystiq.com/2011/03/14/pax-east-2011-attendance-69-500-officially-becomes-biggest-pax/) PAX Prime 2011: 70,000 (http://www.joystiq.com/2011/08/31/pax-prime-attendance-grows-to-70-000/)
  19. *sigh* the person I was replying to was answering someone specific who said they were going to miss this by going to a "the biggest gaming con in the country" and they were referring to Gen Con (as evidenced by their own post above...) Now Gamescon is far bigger but they were in fact referring to GenCon. (also GenCon is not the biggest in the US right now... both PAXs have had larger attendance numbers.)
  20. I am pretty certain they mean Gencon. (http://www.gencon.com/2012/indy/default.aspx)
  21. I have a job that consumes a lot of my time and energy, so is the prospect of taking time off work to do something fun especially since I don't often take vacation that strange?
  22. An event "soon" is not warning. The reason we need warning is we want to plan ahead to have certain days off of work and whatnot. If I went to my boss and asked to take vacation and when asked answered "soon" I would get laughed at.
  23. Can we get something more firm than keep your eyes open? Some of us need to plan our work week
  24. Right that is why so few guilds have finished it and even if you are geared and skilled enough you need seven others who are in the same class to do it... in my guild I am one of three who have done EC normal mode... so yea... stop being an elitist. They are adding customizable gear all we are asking for is the chance to make use of that customization without having to have 8+ people who can manage it. Its not like we are asking for the stats of campaign gear, just the ability to make it look the way we want.
  25. Has it officially started yet? Are the NPCs in place?
