  1. Perhaps this is a case of book vs movie for you. When you read a book, you get to make up a character in your head, if the character doesnt look how you want, you can ignore the description and make up something in your head. You get to create a backstory in your head, make the person who you want. With the voiceovers, its like a movie, the character has a certain personality that you cant control. Perhaps you just cant get into it because you cant form the character the way you see them.
  2. @OP, you claim that this game makes you appreciate a game that you dont want to play now because you would rather play this game.... Somehow WoW is better.... but you would rather play this... Please make sense.
  3. For seeing a problem that was game breaking for a chunk of people and fixing it in a timely and decisive manner. Kudos, keep up the good work.
  4. If they werent fixing it, there would be 2x the threads here moaning about how Bioware doesnt care about fixing bugs. The game is provided as is and as available. I dont get people's sense of entitlement.
  5. First, you may need to seek treatment for OCD Second, If you have gotten several characters to 30-40 and have rolled over 30 characters... I hate to break it to you... youve engaged. You went past engaged. You got married, you had kids, you deleted your kids, and now youre having more.
  6. The skill you cant use still has the descending line and is slightly greyed out, but not as greyed out as things you cant use because they didnt proc. I personally liked the very first iteration the best, but for some reason people couldnt handle it? The newest one works well for me.
  7. People just find things to complain about. I personally love the new way, it was weird at first but its very useful. Every change in an mmo will have someone who whines about it.
  8. He was saying 30-40 total on the server, while at certain times it may be that low, no server has ONLY that many. Please read my post as to why I dont believe in cross server lfd/lfg. I am speaking from personal experience here, not just repeating what they say. I witnessed first hand what lfd/lfg will do to guilds.
  9. First off, no server has only 30-40 level 50s on either faction. That aside, my major problem with cross server lfg is that it kills guilds dead. Most of guild recruitment comes from grouping with people, liking them, and wanting to be in their guild. When you take away a majority of on-server grouping using a cross server lfg/lfd tool, you no longer have guild recruitment. My entire wow server became a ghost town within 4 months of lfd being added due to this. People would leave a guild to either quit the game, move to another sever, etc. and no new recruits would come in to replace them. By the end there were 2 guilds, each with about 30-40 people that were just raid groups. I support cross server pvp, I do not support cross server lfg or lfd. I do support a same server lfg/lfd tool that is more useful than the current one.
  10. Feel free to ignore the beginning and crux of that post... oh wait... you already did.
  11. Please go read up a bit on the history of MMO's. Im not a huge pvp fan, but I recognize that pvp is the only reason MMOs exist as a genre. Developers have never been able to keep up with the content that people can go through. The first MMO's, even the sandbox ones, would have died, taking the entire genre with them, if they hadnt introduced pvp. Pvp is repeatable content that challenges by pitting them against other people, it requires low amounts of coding for high amounts of replay values since with non computer opponents, it creates a variable and dynamic content. I'm sorry you dont enjoy pvp, but without it, WoW and SWTOR probably wouldnt exist.
  12. None of the maintenances have gone that long. Most are over within 4 hours of start. Besides, at 9 am, shouldnt you be at work?
  13. Are you saying the only time you can play is PST 12 am - 6 am on Tuesdays? Thats an awfully strict window.
  14. You just accidentally the whole thing. Edit for: Any sorc or sin can provide the same buff, merc buff is quite nice as well, 5% hp.
  15. So in my experience so far, I believe the following is correct as far as tanking and healing goes in small group and raid situations. Id like clarification if any of this isnt true. Jugg: The single target tank. Juggs tank one-two mobs and tank them like a boss. They cant hold group aggro well, but in small groups the healer doesnt need to really focus many heals on the jugg, so they can focus on keeping the dps up against the silvers/normals. Assasin: The AoE tank. Assassins keep it all on them, they group things up well for groups to pump the aoe dmg. They cant take damage quite as well as the other tanks, but have some shields to help subsidize healing. Powertech: The nothing is too much for me tank. With their plethora of ranged aggro abilities and their non-cooldown passive tanking, they can focus on keeping everything on them. So long as they gear well they are fairly easy to heal, but dont have much in the way of oh **** abilities. Op: The hotter healer. Ops thrive on being able to keep hots on rotation and use instant heals for the gaps. They prefer predictable, consistant damage, not spikes. Merc: The fortifying healer. They love healing one person, stacking buffs, procs, etc. to keep that one person in the green with ease. Sorc: The oh **** everyone is taking damage healer. With their shields, hots, emergency heals, and consistant regen on a large force pool means these healers just love to keep a whole group up all the time. In small groups: Sorcs and Juggs go well together. Since they dont have to focus much on the jugg, they can worry about healing the group. Mercs and PT go well. The PT keeping everything on him means the Merc can just build up on him, keeping him up easily. Ops and Assassins go well. The combo of Assassin shielding and op hotting means that the sin is well taken care of and the op dosnt have to spam heal anyone In raids: Merc and Jugg will go well. The merc will be able to keep the main tank stable on the hard hitting boss. PT and Op will go well together on constant damage ranged bosses or with 2 bosses spread out over a large distance in static locations. Assassin and sorc will go well together handling the trash and/or other melee bosses. The sin will be able to pull stuff off healers/dps and the sorc can do a great job moping up the dmg they do before the assassin gets to them. Any addendums? Am I completely off anywhere?
  16. In defense of jugg tanks, Bioware gave them zero aoe threat. Juggs are made to tank 1-2 mobs and do it with godlike awesomeness. This means a jugg should be able to hold the gold mobs and take minimal damage, meaning shield+hot keeps them up, while the dps murder face the normal and silver adds. With a jugg tank you should primarily be healing dps on all non boss fights. Blame bioware
  17. It's 2012, games require more resources, upgrade or be left behind.
  18. Combat log is coming, but it's not a simple thing to code. I feel it should have been in a while ago, but hindsight is 20/20. They are working on it.
  19. Since the op deleted his entire post, my new response is "warhammers pvp was awful"
  20. Typos in code ruin optimization. I would challange you to try you hand at fixing it, but I'm afraid you would mess it up more.
  21. While it would be fun if they added it, without an entire underwater zone, it's not worth the hassle. Swimming is something you will spend maybe .001% of your time swimming. It's honestly not worth the manpower to code it in yet.
