  1. Assault Spec and it's infinite mobility.
  2. The range is cool and all, but it's not enough compared to the fact that Vanguards proc HIB probably about 35% more often and the abilities that they use to do so are so strong. I have a 50 Vanguard with full battlemaster that outdamages my commando in full warhero fully mod'ed when they are both assault. It's easy to close the distance with a Vanguard, and we you do, you can actually do some damage. I'm sorry but even with distance I think they are plain and simply unbalanced.
  3. Ur right, root, I do think it works well enough to live though. I'm putting up some pretty good numbers now and I can actually solo Marauders occasionally. I couldn't do that before. I wish they would have kept the knockback and added the root though.
  4. I usually run assault spec for the mobility, but the new stun on stockstrike helps enough that gunnery is actually useful. I can do some real damage with gunnery spec now, but assault is still quite gimped. The big difference between assault for commandos and vanguards is how often you can proc HIB. The commando has full auto and charged bolts to proc HIB. No problem with full auto, it works well. However, charged bolts takes 1.5 secs, if you spec into it, to cast. During this time you are interrupted often and even if you do get it off it doesn't proc HIB more than half the time. I honestly rather use hammer shot and move around than risk standing still and not even proc HIB. Vanguards have 2 very strong instant attacks that proc HIB causing them to proc it more often. I suggest BW makes charged bolts an instant ability and just tone down the damage on it to balance this spec. Input?
  5. I think the Commando still doesn't do enough damage. I have a 50 vanguard in battlemaster that out damages my Commando in full War Hero fully aug'd. I use the assault spec after using gunnery for a long time. Assault allows you to move a little more so I get a little more damage out of it. The problem, as far as assault goes, is u rarely proc HIB. Let's admit it, charged bolts is useless. It takes so long to cast that you always get interrupted and even if you do get it off it has a 55% chance of not proc'ing. You get more damage out of continuous hammer shot at that rate. What they need to do is make charged bolts instant and weaker. If not then make them run faster because the distance is useless. Not enough utility to stay at range from anyone really.

I have been posting bout Commandos under class discussions for awhile now so I'll give it a chance here. 1.4 changes were not enough for the Commando. I have a 50 Vanguard in battlemaster that outdamages my Commando in full War Hero completely aug'd. (Both are assault spec'd) The big difference between the two that I have noticed is that my Vanguard procs HIB far more often than my Commando. Why is this? The reason lies with charged bolts. A Vanguard has both Ion pulse and stockstrike to proc HIB. Both of these are instant. Whereas the Commando has a channeled (full-auto) and charged bolts which has a 2 second cast time. Charged bolts usually gets interrupted for one and for two IT TAKES 2 SECONDS. The worst part about it is more than half the time it doesn't even proc HIB after waiting those 2 seconds. I think Commandos need an instant ability as a secondary to proc HIB to balance the class. Please BW, hear us Commandos out. Or if you don't believe the players, have a tester tell you the same thing because I have been playing this class for awhile and I'm telling you this needs to happen.

  8. DPS is the problem, at least as far as Assault goes. And let's face it, gunnery just can't move around enough to live. I am pretty sure that you don't have anyone testing Commando DPS because if you did you would realize this class needs help. Take it from someone who has played this class (a lot) since the game started.

Commandos have more range than a Vanguard and now with their interrupt I use my Commando as the healer hunter. Gunnery spec in the higher levels is really just not mobile enough. I die approximately 40% more often in Gunnery spec. Too bad they don't fix assault to balance the damage with Vanguards.

  11. As for the Assault spec: Why is nothing being done about charged bolts? There is a reason that Powertechs do so much more damage than commandos. (I have both at level 50. The Commando is more far more geared and does about the same dmg.) It's because the two ways for a Powertech to proc HIB are both instant cast. I understand the Commando is supposed to be a more ranged character, but at least give an instant move that isn't very powerful to proc HIB. I seldom proc HIB with charged bolts and I think others can agree that this needs to be in the patch.
  12. So are you gonna do nething bout snipers/slingers? Not only do they hit rediculously hard, they are hard to kill as well. They have too many defenses in my opinion. For being a medium armored character, they survive better than some heavy armored characters.
  13. Been playin on the pts, pretty interesting. I'll tell you from a Commando standpoint that the class changes are cool, just enough to notice a slight dmg increase. As far as the augment tables, even cooler. Everyone can augment their stuff now, but certain crew skills are necessary for creating the augment kits. I am dissapointed about the relics not being useful in PVP though. I understand the adrenals or stims or whatever they are, but there are actual pvp relics. Why would you get rid of the use of them in PVP? Overall, I like the patch though. Group finder is cool.

  16. Well how bout when Diablo III comes out we all cancel our accounts and stop paying stupid fees. That way, they lose a whole bunch of money all at once. Then maybe instead of ignoring the problem they will finally get the hint and fix it.

So I'm a big Star Wars fan, but with the new Guild Wars coming out that's free, and I spends hours each day waiting on que's for warzones that aren't ranked as promised, why am I gonna continue playing this game again? (MMM love them run on sentences) Please answer me this. I think the worst part is that us gamers, the ones from whom the money flows, are always kept in the dark. At least give us a date to look forward to.
