  1. OMG in STV you NEEDED a high level escort because chances are they had one or their buddies would come running to gank you back. memories. QFT.
  2. YW . Hopefully as soon as we get in, it will be a distant memory...
  3. Some will, but a lot less than now. Most people understand a server crash and it's easier for them to cope with it mentally. I don't think the backlash would be nearly as bad. Especially because when a server crashes, the devs are usually nice enough to give ETAs and talk about the problems they are having with stability.
  4. I disagree. Any free 2 play community (League of Legends comes to mind) is worse than this group as they cater to a younger audience and that speaks for itself. Most of the complaints are civil and legible. I find the ones attacking people with legitimate complaints the real problem as most of them add nothing to the conversation. but are in reality just as pissed off, just scared to admit it in public.
  5. It adds enough new things to feel different from WoW. I mean, Rift has less innovation than this game and it is doing fine and is probably successful in that it turned a profit. Anyways, EA has said the game only needs 500,000 subs to be profitable and projects this game to have 3 million players in 6 months (which I think is quite conservative).
  6. I think the problem is that EA/Bioware still advertised "Up to 5/7 days early" when by December 8th when I preordered, they should have known, based on their formula/system, that there would be no chance at all for me to get in 5/7 days early. That is a valid argument. They knew since July preorders that there no way any of would get in day 1. I mean, only July preorders got in day 1 of Early Access, they had to have known this from the end of July onward, yet they continued to market Early Access this way. Classic bait and switch. It wouldn't surprise me if Bioware was sued for this. I for one will be happily playing Friday, but it is fun to debate while I wait.
  7. hahaha ME2 and DA2 come to mind. This is why I will not buy ME3.
  8. I thought that in Beta. Then I thought back to the deliver a package quest in Vanilla WoW that had you walk from the Crossroads to Thunder Bluff. If you were not Tauren, then boy, was that a long walk. Also, run from Razor Hill to Crossroads, Crossroads to Rachet, ect. I felt better after thinking about that .
  9. Is their anyway to get your companions to dodge those avoidable damage spells from the last boss? I found my self healing (consualr) my brother (sentinal) and throwing an occasional heal to companions because they choose to stand in spells .
  10. To the OP: It depends on the game. In games like DotA, HoN, or LoL, point and clicking will make you lose every time. Since combat is slower in TOR, point and clicking is fine for casual play and you can be successful do it. However, in WoW battlegrounds, I used point and click with UI mods to make the buttons smaller. I also made a nine box square pattern and kept my clicker on the middle box for fast travel to my most important skills. It worked really well for me. Hope this helped
  11. This has been a topic in WoW, League of Legends, ect. The basic solution was, in LoL, "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em". Even though the game creators claimed that randoms beat premades more than vice versa with their formula. That is because the average skill level (called "ELO", similar to chess) of the PUG was higher than the premade. However, people still complained about "that one a premade that ROTFL stomped my pug a minute ago", so I believe they changed the matchmaking system to favor PUG vs. PUG and Premade vs Premade. We do need a matchmaking system and brackets I think.
  12. Op, your explanations aren't very descriptive. Please explain why you would pick one ability over another at the same level of a tree, how these abilities synergize to a common goal/rotation, or alternatives you like. Anyways, thank you for taking the time to help the community and it looks like you have a great start going there. I believe I have seen others link to a talent calculator with their builds filled in. Perhaps you could try that so your post could be easier to read. Again, thank you .
  13. Speaking of which, Eroiqua, my biggest problem was getting my companion to avoid damage. I decided he was too dumb to do so, so I focused all my healing on my brother and let them die. Hopefully, companions will get some better AI in the future (unlikely).
  14. I enjoyed that about Essles in Beta. I was like "woah, WoW raid mechanics in low level dungeions? An actual challenge? Awesome" I guess they were in the Cata dungeons, but still, the majority of WoW bosses were snoozers..

  16. I haven't run into any signatures on this forum that are that obnoxious. Plenty of other sites allow ridiculous ones though.

    Huttball sux

Are you going to tell us why you think hutball sucks or just spew hyperbole so we can't have a constructive discussion?
  18. Hi I live in Central Iowa and I have always had similar problems trying to decide east vs. west. I usually go east (1 hour difference for east vs. 2 for West which is usually based out of Cali). I did a West server in Beta and I didn't have any noticeable delay from server response time. An occasional lag spike, that's it. The east servers were fuller, but in theory, it should be faster because of less distance for the communication to travel. Hope that helps.
  19. Yeah OP, I have been saying this too. The only saving grace is that we can hopefully roll on a fresh server. If you go on the community promoted PvP servers (i.e. Anchorhead and Fatman) tomorrow or Friday, well, expect mass ganks.
  20. I will be going Republic too. Ironically, I was almost always Horde (unless playing with certain friends that demanded Alliance ) in WoW from launch (Tauren warrior was my first character). Hey, we'll probably get more wins in PvP with less wait times, so I can live with that.
  21. Dec. 8th here. Looking forward to playing on Friday I'm guessing. i still can't decide what class to be, they all seem fun. I played BH and JC in beta and had a blast.
  22. Except Origin deducted the full amount from many of our accounts when we preordered, including me. Don't act like you know everything.
  23. I don't know if this is true, but it shouldn't be. It would be easy to use statistics to figure out how to stagger the launch. They already have 2 waves done, so they should know how they are doing the rest. It's not hard to figure out and they know what they are going to do. Now, why they aren't telling us, well, I can't figure it out. Does it offer them some kind of competitive advantage to hide the numbers? Nope, using statistics, I bet Blizzard already knows how many customers it can expect to lose to this game and how they expect to fight back. I think the only reason they don't tell us is because once you know how many are in the que and where you are at, it will only cause people to be angrier because they will perceive it as longer and perhaps cancel their preorder. However, people are already angry at the que regardless of where they perceive themselves to be at. All I can say is it is a shame Bioware made us the subject of a social experiment without our consent.
  24. With 2 days of results/testing, they should be able to let everyone else in tomorrow. If not I will be upset, and I have mostly kept quiet throughout this fiasco. No one knows actual pre-order numbers, so really, no one knows. Bioware should be ashamed.
