  1. 6-7k? Lol yeah right. Not even close. Let's see some screenshots.
  2. The dev announcement and accompanying video that was posted today claimed the importance of PvP to Bioware's SWTOR dev team, but did not support these claims with meaningful plans for future pvp content. What the promised: 1) A player ranking system Issue: Who cares how players are ranked if there is a lack of class balance, faction balance, and gear disparity? The rankings will be meaningless without first setting the stage to allow players to achieve actual merit. Example: If the ranking system were live today and it were filled with ops/smugs/sorcs/sages at the top, would the community say "those are good players" or would it be more likely attributed to class balance? 2) A new warzone Issue: All they had to show us was a indeffinite piece of concept art. Concept art sketches are exactly that, sketches, they take less than an hour to whip out and are, overall, fairly meaningless. It takes many, many months to properly plan, code, and balance a new warzone. This is therefore a fairly empty promise that shows little to no prior effort placed in its "future" execution. Don't expect this 'new warzone" anytime soon. 3) That they would listen to the community Issue: They never have. When did they plan to start doing this? Examples: After they ignored the overwhelming roar for rollbacks? After they ignored the pleas for class balance? A change to the resolve system? An improvement to the method in which rewards are earned? All issues pleaded desperately on the forums for many months of beta, still being asked for, and totally ignored. What wasn't promised: 1) fixing the warzones we already have. Majority of players dislike huttball, yet it could be improved. Ilum is still a disaster. Voidstar is buggy. Where were the promises to make these existing features better? 2) Future efforts to improve class balance 3) Plans for moddable pvp gear and/or a better pvp gear system 4) Corrections for mirror class disparity bugs 5) Improved que system and/or cross server pvp 6) A solution for low pop server que times other than to "reroll" on a higher pop server. 7) An improvement to the "bolster" system for the 10-49 bracket 8) Any of the many dozen other lesser issues discussed ad nausem on these forums since beta that currently plague this game's pvp.
  3. Desperate attempt to put a parachute on falling EA stock prices. Seems to have worked.... a little. I guess ignorance is bliss.
  4. I totally agree, except that this dev team would probably rebound the key to "w" or "z".
  5. Yet more total Pvp lameness. 50 levels of a very defined jedi "look" and then this? Seriously horrible. If its even canon then shove it back under the rock you got it from.
  6. If you signed up at game start, your sub probably renews today. Did you sub for 3 mos? or just one? After today's patch what kind of commitment are you willing to make?

    What will BW do?

Heads up SSA is much more like it.
  9. On Port Nowhere the crowd is so thick that frames break down to slideshow and card starts to trip out even with a high end rig. Easy, fast valor, especially for imperials. Way to break many dozens of hours of gear grinding through bg pvp. Hey pvp devs, you are bad at your job. How are you still employed?
  10. No im talking about freezing force and chilling scream. The zero damage, and (by default) 3 focus snare that is on a GCD. Pretty big deal to be able to get in another two gcd's before needing to reapply another damage-less gcd and spend 3 force. Devs really shagged the pooch on pvp implementation with this game. Obvious lack of communication.

    Run circles and WIN

Auto-face is terribly implemented in that some classes have it and others do not. If you're a melee with high latency, you're pretty much hosed as people warp quickly all over the place while your moves fail to trigger or false trigger. Even with lower latency, this is annoying , moreso that a melee has to play with some resemblance of skill while a ranged can derp all over the screen. GG letting the QQ from the hordes of beta sages/consulars and bh/troopers convince you to bring it back at release.
  12. Maybe if this terrible pvp dev team made a quick patch to fix the problem, or at least offered some decent workaround for it these threads wouldn't keep popping up. Its so much fun to play "what do i need to do to start getting credit again on my 6/9 weekly...?".
  13. Not sure if it was mentioned in the 44 pages of this "needs to be updated" OP, but Jedi Knight snare is 6 sec, while SW snare is 9 sec. Huge deal, not a typo. Proof on the class forums.
  14. Pvp shouldn't be a masochistic experience for 60 levels + additional time needed to grind viable level 60 gear just to enjoy something that imitates a skill based, as opposed to level and gear based, fight.
  15. Seriously. Some mouthbreathing dev from this game's idiot pvp design team is going to be like, "JG's" are OP now, derp. JG's have gotten nerfed literally EVERY patch since last summers beta. Even this buff comes with a tiny "nerf" in that taunt is now going to be much more obvious.
  16. Voss is not Ilum or Tatooine. Still plenty of pvp areas on the planet away from the respawn/taxi/merchants.
  17. The devs who designed the class balance in this game are bad at their job. The devs who designed the pvp system are also bad at their job. This game has some of the worst MMO pvp to come out of a major mmo in the last decade. Good thing the rest of the game is attractive enough to make players buy and play it until the next major MMO hits market.
  18. AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Ha ha ha, Ha. Funny. Oh wait, you were serious? Not likely ever being that the pvp dev team appear to have come from Hello Kitty Online and the very engine itself leads to ability activation problems.
  19. The dev team tries to convince the community that their terrible pvp system was implemented because "internal" testing determined it to be fun and balanced despite the overwhelming uproar from the beta testing community of the vast amount of pervasively terribly implemented issues. And The devs are quoted in a pre-release interview making a statement that interpretively indicated that the game was basically done and the the feedback from the beta testers was mostly worthless to them, since beta testers were just animals in the corral, placed there to test the fences.
  20. Scounderl/OPs are broken and OP. Backstab/melee mechanic for these classes was implemented at the very end of beta testing and almost went without testing since few players bothered to hit endgame at the end of testing and problems prevented giving the testers high level toons for trial. mechanics are broken that this "burst dps" class so brightly outshines all other "burst dps" classes and can totally negate the advantage of "tank" classes who are supposed to be the counter to classes that can do alot of damage quickly. Changes to stealth mechanics between beta and live, including the "vanish" type mechanic also contributed to the lack of testing that these abilities received. These classes are broken, if the Bioware pvp devs will stop breathing through their mouths long enough to defog their monitors, you can expect to see a hard nerf.
  21. Solid Post. Lots of good points. Pvp development team is bad at their job. Made all the mistakes of the worst pvp mechanics of the past that other companies have regretted making and usually patch later to change with a big "we're sorry, please come back" spam email a few months down the road. (stunlocks, gear imbalance, class imbalance, lack of viability for pvp specs -> pve specs, matchmaking failure, consumables failure, terrible resolve mechanic, etc.) Also, Mythic isn't what it used to be. Warhammer Online also launched with smelly turd of a pvp system that wasn't even a shadow of what DAOC once was. This game will lose most of its pvp-centered players as soon as the next mmo hits market. Luckily they were able to roll fatly into this quarter without many viable alternatives for the mmo pvp gamer who wants shiny new graphics and competitive play.

    Im dumbfounded

It was actually beta tested ALOT, and what we did was complain about how bad it was. Complaints that fell on deaf ears.
  23. The numbers at the end of matches give proof positive of the imbalance. Operative/Scoun melee was implemented at the very end of beta after much QQing by the operative players that they wanted to stab something and was largely untested for release. It is broken.
  24. It wouldn't be so bad if pvp didn't suck so much in this game. Class balance - fail Bolster system - fail Matchmaking - fail Pvp/pve build viability - fail WZ implementation - fail World pvp - fail CC implementation - fail A fun and enticing reward system for pvp - fail Creativity in creating a new type of warzone and attempting the bolster system - Nice! Credit where credit is due - little tho it may be.

    Autofacing

Yeah right, because ranged already doesn't have a gigantic advantage over melee by not needing to to close distance, leave defensive positions, chase, or overextend from healers. God forbid that you actually have to keep your range to cast your RANGED attacks at maximum effectiveness. Its just way to hard to totally dominate WZ's when you have to actually bother to switch to instant cast ranged abilities when a melee manages to close on you.
