  1. The trooper's BT7- Thunderclap has one but alas, you can take weapons out of it or anything.

I know, Aric is constantly tinkering about in there, but yeah, more in a sense that I can display my own array of weapons. I would have said an armour rack as well, but so far I don't think I would put anything on there. Could be along the line ... different Trooper sets, camouflage, winter gear etc - or Imperial Agent - regular outfit, undercover stuff, special ops gear ...

What about a "screenshot" pinup wall. I take a screenshot on Tatooine and I can pin it up on my cargo hold and zoom in by clicking on it.

  2. Worry not fellow citizens, there is a plan in motion.

Joe (that is the guy who does everything, we all know every company has a Joe) may be currently away on his roundtrip to Europe and the rest of the world - BUT he is keeping contact with HQ with state of the art technology. While he is plugging in the servers with his right hand, he is texting the brand new developed code via his cell phone to his email address with his left hand, where Emma keeps a close eye and prints everything onto legal paper, colour coded to a secret priority chiffre - in this case highest priority for ALL documents of course.

Upon landing back in the USA, Emma will have his Laptop handy and he can start programming the code, typing it off the neatly arranged stack of printouts, into the existing game right at the Airport from where he will be picked up with his Joe-mobile that features a desk and an array of energy drinks. Joe will then download the latest version from the Laptop to a USB-stick, hand it over to Mike (who can run faster) who will race up all 32 floors to the main central North American only update-computerserver, insert the USB stick and we are good to go.

    Go Joe!

  3. It's a tactical symbol.

An arrow saying: "Advance into the thick of things, hold your position, then kill everything left and right."

    :D

Edit: Seriously though, google military unit symbols, the inspiration might have come from there, made a bit fancier.

  4. I am always an advocate for in-game information.

Just a couple of ideas - the news announcements could have been on all spaceports (similar to the ones on the fleet), they could have also mentioned that officials are very certain the be able to contain the plague within x days.

Other than that I would always leave the merchant for another couple of days in general. It's a re-occuring thing popping up after every event, even the yearly/seasonal ones.

  5. I'd like to hear more of Monthie but I don't plan on taking him with me... The static charge around my Sorcerer could well fry him... QQ

First of all thanks for the reply! Who knows, who knows, fleas are tough. He might ride on the purple lightning.

This is meant for fun, not too serious, doesn't even have to be a specific style, I just started that way.

As for a little trivia, I got the inspiration from an older rhyme about two ants who want to travel the world. Well, they don't get too far and their legs hurt, so they decide to stay home instead. Pretty short one.

    Anyways, let's see ...

Carrick Station running a loop, his Master was looking for more,

Hammer Station being the scoop, never been there before.

Sawbone, Torch and Vorgan fight, they fell fast - what a delight.

Now Kreshan, all tough he acted, found himself quite distracted,

As flea did what he does best, bit him thirty times into the chest.

The party yelled, this must be a bug, flea didn’t mind, snug in a rug.

The Hammer fell and all was swell, flea changed hosts, couldn’t you tell?

So started the days, of Monthie and the Trooper from Ord Mantell.

Fade to Black, Jaxo whispers “Paris”, but no, Trooper was set on Taris.

Boy who knew, on top of a Blaster you have a nice view.

Rakghouls they called them, never had one of those

Flea thought to himself, jumped over for a dose.

The Trooper headed for disaster, tried to get himself infected,

But flea was always faster, had his own DNA into them injected.

Trooper gave up, went oh snap, ran back to his Thunderclap.

Eyes glowing, strong in the force, Monthie learned lots, in Aric’s weapons course.

No fear, no one knows where he might end at. :)

  6. Well, I never sat there with a stop watch but that said I find myself thinking more often "why does this take so long".

Can't really say if 1.2 related.

With some other games a fresh install helped, I don't really feel like downloading everything again though.

  7. I have a somewhat reverse question.

Why do you play only one MMO if you have so much time?

Instead of complaining there is not enough to do in one game because you are able to be online 24/7 take pride in your abilities and max out 10 games. Lot's of f2p ones out there too! Go beat them all. :D

Hey, try Eve as well, it will take you years because of the way the learning is set up in real time!

    (Not knocking Eve, good game.)

Resistance is irrelevant. You will be assimilated.

    Futile mate, futile! :)

  8. I really am jelly of how easily amused you are.

Well count me in on the easily amused ones. Perhaps out of the same reason I am easily amused reading books.

I am not sure why there seems to be a constant need to ridicule others in regards to what they like.

Levelling, Questing (Missioning), Raiding (Opsing), Gearing, PvPing, Warzoning, RPing, Crafting, Outfitting, Minigaming ... all part of MMO's. You like one part better then the other? Good for you and more power to you. Just respect that others might not share the same view or not to the same degree.

I for one am always sad when there is no more level left, no more additional skillpoints to distribute. May the Interlude not last too long :)

  9. Yup. I knew there was a reason why I'm not that big fan of pvp. Darn right!

Btw, pals. Did everybody already obtain your very own adorable rakghoul pet? -skreee-

Most certainly! One is good though, I'll spend the rest DNA later on my second crystal.

Hey, how about an infected emote for the future? I'll miss my glowing eyes *lol

  10. That depends on your idea of "easy". Yes her gear comes with mod slots, but to get same level gear as say... Kaliyo at end game when I can easily fully equip her with Tionese/Columi/Rakata excess pieces from raids I must spend 60-100K credits to rip the mods out of EACH piece of gear for her! Why spend all those credits on her if her tanking ability is not superior and to gear Kaliyo it costs me nothing?!?

I very much wanted to use SCORPIO over Kaliyo... but not if its gonna cost me a million credits to get the same level gear...

The weapons supposedly changed, so you should get an orange staff for Scorpio now. Should actually check with my BH if they changed automatically or if I have to do them again.

The rest in regards to the "armour" - absolute valid point for the droids, I never went that far to gear my companions. Heck I'm not even that geared with my characters yet :D

  11. i thanked them for answering my question. but your right there is still a bit of a mystery. one thing that caught my attention, was that we can keep up to date with swapping mods. but as far as i know there is no aim hilt

The Techblades do use barrels - so we're good there :)

It seems to me that there were more ideas but it got cut back.

    Edit

Yes this is just silly. The first companion I get Qyzen Fess has the most impossible weapon to upgrade in the game.

Unless you are on a server that has any market with weapons on it. (mine has none most of the time)

So my Qyzen is stuck with a level 48 crap weapon or at best a sub par compared to any other companion.

Example is my Corso Riggs has a Battle master Weapon, but Qyzen Fess for my Consular is stuck with a blue 48?

How could this even be considered equal or fair to the Consular?

You can do the heroic daily "Open Communications" on Belsavis and get him a nice blade:

    http://www.torhead.com/index.php/mission/84kXjKh/open-communications#comments

Hope that helps. Still more cumbersome in the leveling phase. They did add schematics for the armstech - I believe the weapons start at lvl 20 from what I've seen.

Still doesn't answer the design choice - and I often have green or blue weapon drops for my other companions that I swap if it's better then the customizable one - which will not happen as often with those weapons as they keep them more rare for the reason given.

  12. Grandmthethird: It seems to me like some companions have a hard time when it comes to gear. I’m sure there is more but I’m thinking specifically of Torian and Skadge. It seems impossible to get aim melee weapons. Is this an oversight? Or am I simply missing something?

David White (Systems Designer): Aim melee weapons are used by a very small subset of companions. For this reason we tend to distribute those items through either vendors or class specific quest rewards. Our goal is to make these items reasonably available without constantly putting essentially “worthless” items in front of players who do not care about them. We also make the items customizable (orange) when possible to make it easier to keep them up-to-date by swapping out the Mods and Enhancements. Ultimately it’s a delicate balance to make sure they can be reasonably found and maintained by the players who care about them without them becoming a nuisance to players who might not even understand why they exist.

This answer is somewhat not satisfying as it doesn't explain why decisions where made to implement the Techblade and the Techstaff in the first place - as they are the only weapons not used by any player class.

Certain things I can assume to understand. For example all Trooper companions have Aim as their main stat, even the healer was changed to aim whereas all other healing companions use cunning. My guess would be to make sure they all utilize the same gear and thus look like Troopers as well.

We are looking at only four companions distributed over three classes, two for the Bounty Hunter and one each for the Smuggler and Consular.

So the question for me still is, why Techblades/-staffs and not Vibroswords/Electrostaffs for example? If this is for the same reason as with the trooper healer it should have been easier to do the same here instead of making a whole new weapon set.
