  1. +41 is still the max for all crystals at level 55 - enjoy!
  2. it's funny, I just reinstalled my naga molten and synapse 2 software an hour ago.. the "waiting for razer device to connect" is the the synapse program contacting the razer servers. synapse is a cloud based app and it needs to verify the (your) account and product. make sure you've created an account with razer and have registered your mouse (product registration) as well. check that razer is 'allowed' in your firewall and that there are no false positives with your anti-virus program. the first time you ran synapse it should have asked for your user name or email and password to login. if none of the above helps post back and I'll try to help.
  3. I realize I post this suggestion a lot but have found it helpful for a number of people. if you haven't already you could try these steps - DirectX June 2010 redist and, Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable if you don't already have it. also, .net framework too. running the game with admin privileges is a good idea however as you already have windows 7 there is really no need to run in compatibility mode. also, check the 'event viewer' (administrative tools/event viewer) to see if there is an error message associated with the game crashing. it might help in finding the problem. good luck!
  4. after a very quick look it seems the first option might give the most bang for your buck. the HD 8670D is better than the HD 6670. the 8670 is newer and has better bench marks than the HD 6670 (the 6670 is about 2 years old). just google HD 8670D and look for bench marks... same with HD 6670.... same with any hardware. the first option should play swtor (adjust graphic settings as needed) and will play many other current games as well at lower graphic settings. edit - I would not upgrade win 8 to win 8.1 just yet, there seems to be some driver compatibility issues at this time. it might be a good idea to wait a couple of months till microsoft gets this sorted out. hope this helps and good luck -
  5. I bought on the GTN, 6 MK-9 augmentation slots and 6 advanced might augs (28's) and so had 12 emails waiting for me to collect. I open my mail, hit the radio button 'select all' and then hit 'collect all attachments' though when I checked my inventory I only had 4 MK-9 augmentation slots. the 6 augs were there thankfully. I thought this had happened before but wasn't sure so let it go. however, this time I payed close attention to what I'd bought, how many emails I had waiting, how many credits I had spent and if the collect all function would work. (an expensive test as each item was between 79 and 80k). edit - so yeah, went back did the math and the credits are gone - Ticket # 10509889 anyway, will submit a ticket in game and see if CS can help me sort this out. I never really pay too much attention to this when I buy bulk mats, odd amounts at different prices. just select the get all option and trust it's working right... I think I'll stop doing that for now just to be sure. if you guys could take a look and make sure the function is 'as intended' that'd be great and thanks. Shadowlands - my Sentinel
  6. I hate you. (sry couldn't help it, I'm sure you are a very good person )
  7. Noooooooooo!!!! (I need to switch to decaf ) damn it Jim I'm a Jedi, not a , ah ... something clever.... if the server was up I'd have something better to do than make stupid cross universe jokes... (wanders off muttering to self).
  8. I was there... no, really. btw, finally got to Oricon today (set aside today for a nice long gaming session) and Shadowlands decides to go belly up - however, the Oricon moon is a lot of fun to play. well done BW! looking forward to getting back to the action! (I got twin light sabers and I'm not afraid to use them )
  9. another tip... I rarely give blue armor / mods / enhancements to my comps until mid 40's. the greens work fine while leveling and as a cyber you can make them very cheap. just be sure to swap them out every 2 levels. (use the comms for enhancments if you want as you can't make them or buy off the GTN, still very cheap). I have 4 high lvl chars and 5 alts and find it works well and is far less expensive. also, at mid lvl your abilities will start to cost a lot more and you may need to save the crafting creds for abilities. hope this helps -
  10. it's funny, I don't seem to remember it looking that bad tho the effects are so fast I may have missed it. my wifi is borked atm... good enough to lurk the forums but not good enough to play... . will check it out once I sort out the connection.
  11. these are some tips and settings that may help - some of this has already been covered by others in this thread so disregard as needed. DirectX June 2010 redist make sure you use the redistributable (link) and not the web time installer. and, Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable if you don't already have it. also, .net framework too. I have the GTX 765m in my laptop and get very good frame rates in war zones and on fleet. your gpu is not as bad as some have implied and is easily up to playing this game. try (in game graphics settings) setting the distance view to medium or low. also, turn off most of the 'name plates' options and try turning off the name plate "scale with distance" option as well. in the Nvidia control panel these are the settings I use. Ambient Occlusion - Performance Anisotropic filtering - app controlled (global) Antiailasing - FXAA - On Antiailasing - mode - app controlled (global) Antiailasing - setting - app controlled (global) Antiailasing - Transparency - 2x (supersample) CUSA - GPUs - global settings (All) Max pre-rendered frames - 1 Multi-display /mixed-GPU acceleration - Single display performance mode Power managment mode - Prefer maximum performance Texture filtering - anisotropic sample optimization - ON Texture filtering - Neg LOD bias - Clamp Texture filtering - Quality - Global (Performance) Texture filtering - Trilinear optimization - Global (ON) Threaded optimization - Global (Auto) Triple buffering - Global (ON) Vertical sync - Global (Use the 3D application settings) don't be afraid to try different in game graphic settings. a good approach is to set everything (all 'in game' settings) to low or off though keep your native (default) screen resolution. now run some war zones and see what happens. (if you want you can drop the screen res down a little as well). then try bumping up the settings a small amount then check the results again. rinse and repeat till you find what works best for you. hope this helps and good luck -
  12. without going in to a lot of detail it's the intel 4000 graphics and not the cpu and not the game. the intel integrated graphics are not really meant for gaming and it sounds like it's trying to maintain your high settings during the convo's and failing at times. if the rest of the game works for you this "glitch" will just be something you have to live with. good luck! -
  13. can't find a main hand 72 saber at the reduced comm price either. off hand no problem at 140 comms but nothing for a main hand saber... my poor Sent would really like an answer on this one - thanks
  14. damn, this thread has some serious legs - Thraka, it sounds like you have a good handle on the situation, best of luck on the GTN
  15. you are correct. it's the same with biochem reusable items as well I believe. it's the trade off on always crafting new items or having the reusable version. also, our cyber grenades got a nerf in the last patch, getting hit with a grenade places 'Bastion' on the target player and they can't be affected again for 3 minutes. not sure if it's just the slows/stuns or all damage. I keep a set of the artifact grenades for quickly burning down / stunning trash mobs and a few stacks of the higher damage blues for tougher fights.
  16. this ^^ as the other poster said, it really depends on which server you're on.... however, taking 2 or 3 gathering skills like scavenging and or archaeology / bioanalysis can make a real difference. you'll be questing anyway so gathering will cost you nothing and you can sell the mats for a decent profit. (on my server grade 3 and above bio mats go for a decent amount and many grade 2 and above scavenging mats are the same) don't spend unless you really need to. gear only 1 or 2 comps at most. as a marksmanship sniper you'll need either a tank or healer (melee dps should work too) to run class missions, just keep them in 'green' up to level gear for the first 20 to 30 levels. no real need for them to have moddable gear at lower levels. as a crafting skill (imo) cybertech is the most cost effective as you can make all your own armor and mods plus earpieces as well. underworld trading is the mission skill you need for cyber. run all the bonus and heroic missions you can. mission rewards are higher for those types of quests and running with a group will increase rewards as well. I'm sure there are many additional tips others can offer but I've found the tips above can make a real difference in your bank account. edit - good link in this forum best if luck -
  17. classic gear has only weapon master's gear and has the valorous call and dispatch set bonus. basic gear has no set bonus. elite gear has both weapon master and challenger and the set bonus is valorous call and zen (increase in damage) and yes they work together per the tool tip on the items. ultimate gear is the same as elite gear. same set bonus and yes they work together. again, per the tool tip on the items. go to the fleet and check the tool tips. both weapon master and challenger are listed together on both gear sets.
  18. it depends on the people. at lower levels they will be more forgiving than at higher levels that's why I suggested to jump into Flash Points as soon as possible. if you decide to start out with heals the same holds true (dps as well). it sounds like you have a lot more experience in mmo's than I did (this is my first) but which ever way you decide to go just learn your ability rotations, the roll your class fills, keep your gear up to snuff and have some fun. we all start out with just one ability then two.... ect. by the time you're at lvl 10 and ready to pick your advanced class I'm sure you'll have a good feel for which ever class you choose. plus, that's the great thing about alts you can try them all out -
  19. hug the wall farthest from the holo recording and you won't trigger her speech. works for me every time. if you use a speeder use the smallest one you have or use the rocket boots, a large speeder will still hit the trigger point.
  20. as the others said your graphics card seems to be the weak link. all the other specs are well above the min req specs. I copied what follows from another post and the one setting that can help is changing the 'max pre-rendered frames to 1 as well as the name plates suggestion. if you haven't already you could try these steps - DirectX June 2010 redist make sure you use the redistributable (link) and not the web time installer. and, Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable if you don't already have it. also, .net framework too. try (in game graphics settings) setting the distance view to medium or low. also, turn off most of the 'name plates' options and try turning off the name plate "scale with distance" option as well. also, set grass and trees to mid level or lower. in the Nvidia control panel these are the settings I use. go to manage 3D settings tab to 'program settings' and select 'swtor.exe' (not the launcher.exe) if the correct .exe is not there just add it then try the settings listed below. Ambient Occlusion - Performance Anisotropic filtering - app controlled (global) Antiailasing - FXAA - On Antiailasing - mode - app controlled (global) Antiailasing - setting - app controlled (global) Antiailasing - Transparency - 2x (supersample) CUSA - GPUs - global settings (All) Max pre-rendered frames - 1 Multi-display /mixed-GPU acceleration - Single display performance mode Power managment mode - Prefer maximum performance Texture filtering - anisotropic sample optimization - ON Texture filtering - Neg LOD bias - Clamp Texture filtering - Quality - Global (Quality) Texture filtering - Trilinear optimization - Global (ON) Threaded optimization - Global (Auto) Triple buffering - Global (OFF) Vertical sync - Global (Use the 3D application settings) hope this helps and good luck -
  21. been a long time since my sent used that gear. if the set bonus for both is 'Valorious Call' (cool down) and 'Dispatch" (saber throw distance) then yes they do stack (work together) and I do remember using a mix of both for the same reason you mentioned. hope this helps -
  22. this ^^ Guardian tanks are very easy to learn as are Vanguard troopers. Shadow tanks are a bit more fun (imo) because of the stealth and have a few ranged attacks as well. I have 1 of each, all at high lvl's. also, you can re-spec all three and give dps a try as you level up (if you're a sub you can re-spec at any time and as many times as you want for free). at lvl 10 you can start running Flash Points and I suggest jumping in to them as soon as possible. there is a difference between solo play and group play. a good tank will set the pace, issue commands and basically lead the group. a lot to do but a lot of fun as well. you might want to check out the class forums as well, lots of good info on gear and tactics plus people are always happy to help a new tank out. best if luck -
  23. "'white knight' stupidity"... lol, had to laugh at that one - other than trying to drive everyone else out of that market nitch or just screwing up the market for a while I can't think of any good reason to do it. my guild leader is in a market fight atm with 2 or 3 sellers who want to control certain sections of the GTN. what they don't know is she has a huge war chest (well over 150 million in creds) and they really have no chance, long term, of ever driving the prices their way. (she also has several alts that do nothing but craft and gather and will sell under many different names in many different areas of the GTN, for her the credits just keep rolling in). she has said she's seen this many times before and will either under cut them (even if it means a small loss) or buy up the deals they offer and stock pile the items till the market returns to normal or will do a combination of both until they run out of creds or get bored with the whole thing. just like in real life the market is a long term endeavor. I wouldn't worry too much about this guy, and if he keeps buying high and selling low he'll end up bleeding him self dry. you can help bleed him if you can keep posting at your normal price and he keeps buying. lastly, consider sending some polite in game emails to other people you know that sell in these areas, see what they think about it and maybe create the cartel you mentioned to deal with this guy.
  24. started playing my gunslinger again and can confirm, 'aimed shot' does fire from the side of the screen to the target and not from the pistols. also, have noticed that sometimes it will not animate at all. this is on Voss though will check what happens on the training dummies later today.
