  1. And my story is here, on this (for me) fine, sort of sunny day. Title: The Face Merchants, Part 2 Prompt: Worlds Colliding Characters: Mallena Dayne (Trooper), Jessasi Silver (Smuggler), Aric Jorgan, Corso Riggs Length: 1,000 words Spoilers: Same Coruscant Trooper and planet heroic as last time
  2. Hooray, not massively behind on comments this time! Also, not a month between posts! @Feldraeth- eh, I think I soloed Face Merchants a couple times too, although last time I came through Coruscant I was leveling with a friend @Divi- "sticking her lekku where they don't belong"- I like that! Can I steal it? Comments:
  3. Well! I've finally gotten a story ready to post and caught up enough on comments that I feel like I can! Here goes Title: The Face Merchants Prompt: Worlds Colliding Characters: Mallena Dayne (Trooper), Jessasi Silver (Smuggler), Aric Jorgan, Corso Riggs Length: 1,000 words Spoilers: Trooper Coruscant and a Coruscant world mission. You can probably guess which. Index between Road to Coruscant and Nostalgia Note:
  4. And (hopefully) the last batch of comments before I post my story:
  5. And more comments! We'll see how far I get this time.
  6. Here's me, starting to get caught up with the comments! Welcome to Rhyys, I'll get to yours soon @Diviciacus- Yes, she deleted the message without sending it. I'm actually considering doing all or nearly all of her stories in messages that she writes to her parents and deletes without sending, but I'm still trying to decide if that will be too limiting.
  7. Hopefully I'll pick up the pace a little bit when school starts up again and I'm not dming. It takes a lot of my creative juices. Part 64: Roadblocks
  8. Alright. After a long absence, it's time for me to finally post something again. I'm sorry, there will be no comments this time, there's been so much activity during my impromptu hiatus! But I will try to catch up on the reading, and welcome to all the new posters Today, we have two short bits. The first is an intro of sorts for my agent, who will hopefully show up in a larger capacity soon. Title: For the Good of the Empire Prompt: Disguises Characters: Bryyn Harkness (Imperial Agent) Length: 140 words Spoilers: None Takes place about a year and a half before the beginning of the agent storyline And the second is for the Description prompt, which I don't thing I ever actually posted for Jessasi, despite it being done months ago. So, here we are. Title: Captain Jessasi Silver Prompt: Description Characters: Jessasi Silver (obviously ) Length: 180 words Spoilers: none Takes place about five years after the beginning of the Smuggler storyline
  9. Annnnnd I disappeared again. I am still working on this story, I promise! Part 63: To the Spaceport
  10. And here's my contribution! This was my attempt to give a little characterization to Mallena's parents, though looking at it now, this might not have been the best week for it, with all the new people. Nobody wants to read about the personalities of the relatives of characters you've never heard of Regardless, it's all I have ready and it's been far too long since I posted here, so here ya go! Also, Alaurin, just a quick note about the index- my Girl's Night In story doesn't seem to have a link to it? Also, I discovered a spelling error in my title for description story for Kiarn (it's the last one listed for her). Her Sith name is Darth Occlus, not Darth Occulus I fixed it on the story itself, but would you mind updating the index to reflect that? Thank you again for all your hard work in doing this, it must take forever. Title: Reassigned Prompt: Best Day Ever Characters: Mallena Dayne (Trooper) and family Length: 600 words Spoilers: None Takes place a day or two before the beginning of the Trooper storyline. Index between Long Ago and The Road to Coruscant Notes:
  11. Agh, it's been so long since I've posted! I'll get caught up the rest of the way with comments later, but here's some @Feldraeth- Well, it depends on what girls' nights you're talking, but in this case, yes, both girls are wearing clothes. IIRC, I envisioned Mallena in a plain t-shirt and loose cargo pants and Feyte wearing a mid-length nightgown. Hope that helps Comments:
  12. Sorry for disappearing! It's been a busy couple of weeks, including finals and moving back home, as well as a general lack of inspiration on my part and focusing on preparing the DnD campaign I'm running. This is my attempt to get back into the groove. Part 62: A Double-edged Gift
  13. When I was very young, my dad read me The Hobbit out loud, and to this day, I always hear his voice when I read it.
  14. Thought of another one: The One-Trait Character: I used to play DnD with a guy whose character's entire personality was that he was Chaotic Good and enjoyed climbing. That was it, those were his only character traits. This is more a roleplaying skill thing (the guy's characters are getting much better, btw), but one trait/quirk/alignment/backstory element does not make a personality or an interesting or likeable character. It gets really boring, really fast to RP with a Bounty Hunter played by a person who thinks that "not liking Force Users" fits somewhere on the MBTI system
  15. Exactly. My RP main is also very introverted, but that doesn't mean she doesn't do things. It means that when our (mostly Sith) guild is on a shuttle going to some sort of mission, rather than talking to the person in the seat next to her, she'll be reading, or checking over her gear, or thinking. I was trying to distinguish between Angst Corner Sitters and characters who don't talk a lot. The latter is good, the former is annoying.
  16. I've done a bit of cantina rp in my day (my guild used to use as a recruitment tool, hanging out and rping our characters a bit and inviting people who seem competent and interested.) My main pet peeves: The Lore Ignorer: So, I really enjoy the SW universe. I could probably large chunks of the movies from memory, own dozens of the books and have read twice that, and will play games just because they're Star Wars. I understand, not everyone is like that. Some people have only just gotten into it, or aren't really even into SW at all and just like this game and rp. That's fine, and I don't expect you to know everything. But if you're roleplaying in an established fictional universe, I am going to expect you to know the basics about how the world works, thing' like what Force powers can and cannot do, what the basic ideas of the Republic, Empire, Mandalorians, Jedi, etc are and who's allied with whom, and who the main cannon characters are and their basic personalities. Angst Corner Sitters: AKA, the rper who doesn't want to rp. These characters just sit there throwing out brooding emotes and giving one-word answers to anyone who comes around and either ignoring or outright rejecting potential plot lines. Introverted RP characters are fine, but roleplay is a group effort, and your character needs to actually do something to be a part of the plot. If all you do is sit there and sigh, eventually people will stop trying to rp with you. And if your character is so shy/moody/anxious that they never really interact with others.... what's the point of rping as them? The Copycat: Yes, I've seriously seen people trying to roleplay as characters from other fictional universes. Not just having the same name or being vaguely similar, but actually being "Cloud from Final Fantasy, in TOR." (not an actual example I've seen) It's not creative, it's really jarring for people rping with you, and most of the time it MAKES NO SENSE IN-UNIVERSE. The character will have powers that don't work in Star Wars, or a backstory that hinges on an event or phenomenon specific to their world. Edward Elric's backstory makes perfect sense in FMA, but it becomes either impossible without alchemy. Katniss Everdeen's is nonsensical if the Capitol and The Games themselves aren't a thing. Not to mention that whatever character is being ripped off is usually completely out of character anyway. The Bad Guy "Good Guy": Basically, the guy who's supposed to a member of the Republic/Jedi/other good guys, or working with them, but acts so obiously evil that he (I see this way more often with male characters) should be killed, jailed, or at least abandoned by now, but haven't been because of PC armor. The same applies to Sith/Imperials/other bad guys who are not only not doing bad things, but actively working to prevent those bad things. Why are the bad guys keeping them around if they screw up all their plans? So, yeah, those are my rp annoyances.
  17. @Feldraeth- Glad you liked my stuff Made my day today. Comments: The inspiration is not flowing right now, so have a few plotless drabbles about random stuff that came to mind when I saw prompts! Title: Nostalgia Prompt: Good/Bad Memories Characters: Mallena Dayne (trooper), Ketturah Atridies (Bounty Hunter) Length: 500 words Spoilers: References to Trooper Coruscant Index under Mallena, after Road to Coruscant and before Hammershot Title: Girl's Night In Prompt: Xenobiology Characters: Feyte Saien (Jedi Consular), Eyrie Lancaster (Jedi Knight), Jessasi Silver (Smuggler), Mallena Dayne (Trooper) Length: 800 words Spoilers: None Index on any character you feel like, but it goes after the conclusion of the class story in any case. Sorry, hope that helps Note:
  18. @Alaurin- Whichever you prefer for the story, I'm fine with wherever you think it fits best. I think your background for you warrior is very interesting, especially the bit at the beginning. Looking forward to the day she meets Lady Durant. Also, I saw pics of her on Tumblr and she looks great I'm not entirely happy with how the first piece for this week turned out, but I can't think of exactly how to modify it to better say what I wanted to say, so here it is. Title: History Prompt: Teachers and Heroes Characters: Eyrie Lancaster (Jedi Knight), Orgus Din Length: 500 words Spoilers: References to an NPC from the Coruscant Jedi Knight storyline Index after Road To Coruscant For my second piece, I'm doing an excerpt/shameless plug from my main fanfiction, She Who Battles Monsters: An Assassin's Tale. This section takes place near the end of my version of Korriban, after the students have undergone a series of trials ranging from a written test (admittedly taken at 4 am after not eating for a day or two, but still not that bad) to undergoing Force-induced hallucinations of the things they fear the most. This picks up just after the last one, a free-for-all, capture the flag-style melee in the Dark Valley. Title: The Final Trial Prompt: Sacrifice Characters: Kiarn (later Kiarn Skyfall, Sith Inquisitor), Meiko Antares (another academy student and Kiarn's friend) Length: 1,500 words Spoilers: Massive spoilers for Kiarn!verse Korriban, no game spoilers Index earliest of all Kiarn stories so far. Also, would you mind adding Skyfall as her last name to her entry?\ WARNING: Some violence and disturbing images Note:
  19. Hello, everyone! Comments: I had a pretty good spring break, and managed to get a decent amount of writing done during that time. This first was supposed to be posted sometime before Friday, but here it is anyway. Title: Opportunity Knocks Prompt: Fame, Who? Characters: Ketturah Atridies (Bounty Hunter) Length: 1,300 words Spoilers: setup for the Bounty Hunter story Index latest of all Ketturah stories so far Notes: And for the second, I'm actually going to repost a story from a long while back, the first one I posted on this thread, actually. I've updated a few things, improved the grammer, etc. It explains who Ketturah is as well as being for the next prompt in my quest to use all of them. I hope that's ok Title: Long Ago Prompt: Bad Timing Characters: Ketturah Atridies (Bounty Hunter, currently age 12), Mallena Dayne (Trooper, currently 14) Length: 1,800 words Spoilers: None Alaurin, would you mind replacing the old post of this story with this one on the index? Thanks I do skip a few of the in-between messages here (at January 24th and February 22nd), so the entire conversation isn't shown
  20. Part 58: Inside Warning: Contains some mildly disturbing imagery
