  1. @MrTwo- Thank you so much!!!! @Striges- you're right, that is interesting. I hadn't really considered that angle before I wrote it, but when I read it over afterwords, I saw it right away. I decided to leave it in, though, because it felt right for the setting and the nature of the Jedi order as it functions in the game as I interpret it. If that makes any sense at all. @Lunafox- glad to hear you like this pairing! I was a little worried that no one would get it Comments: So, fluffy romantic pieces aren't something I write much, but the next prompt in my quest to use as many as possible just begged for one. And I confess, it was some of the most fun I've had writing in a long time. Title: Love at Negative Sixty Degrees Prompt: Affection Characters: Jessasi Silver (Smuggler), Corso Riggs, Gus Tuno mentioned Length: 1,200 words Spoilers: References to Smuggler Hoth Index between Clearing the Air and Hard Jobs A little more sexy stuff here, about the same level as the last piece I posted Notes:
  2. @Striges- Eyrie is at least partially responsible for the avoidance. She's the sort of person who tends to feel responsibility for things that may or may not be her fault, and in her assuming that people will judge her for her background, she's sort of distanced herself from everyone else. But yes, some of the Jedi have been avoiding her for the same reason as well. @AKHadeed- Oh my goodness, thank you! Your comment really made my day Comments: Well, this started out as something for the prompt. Then, I decided to throw in something I've wanted to do for a while (it seemed like a good time for it), and it took longer than I thought it would, coupled with my original idea taking much less time than I thought it would... but anyway, here you go. Title: Very Old Friends Prompt: Ceremony and a bit of Affection Characters: Eyrie Lancaster (Jedi Knight), Jedi Masters Orgus Din, Bela Kiwiks and Satele Shan Length: 1,100 words Spoilers: None, really. Index just after Beneath the Surface WARNING: Contains a bit of a steamy moment. Nothing at all worse than what we have in game, but just noting. Note:
  3. Yeah, that's kind of how I think of him, too. He has a lot of power, but you have to work carefully so it doesn't backfire on you horribly. Part 55: Gossip and Gin
  4. And here are some more comments, with a story, this time! Comments: So, originally, I intended to sort of tease out the information in this story slowly, over the course of many, many posts. But I realized that it's not a subject that would naturally come up in conversation, nor do I have the benefit of long-standing internal dialogue like I do for Kiarn's secrets. Plus, I just kind of wanted to write it. Title: Beneath the Surface Prompt: Parenthood Characters: Eyrie Lancaster (Jedi Knight), Jedi Masters Satele Shan, Orgus Din, and Bela Kiwiks Length: 1,100 words Spoilers: Vague references to JK Tython. Index between Training Days and The Road to Coruscant Note:
  5. Well, I was going to say something about this being the 100th post, but it's actually the 101st post, and last week's update was the 100th post. Happy 100th post anyway, I guess. Part 54: The Nexus Room
  6. Gah! I totally meant to post this a week and a half ago, but complications. Lost flash drives, sickness, and the busiest week I've had in a long time seem to be conspiring against me. Have some comments. @Striges- Yeah, Erius tends to underestimate Karanni. I think he's put her down for so long that he's started to believe it himself.
  7. Sorry this one took so long to put up, but I temporarily lost the flash drive I write this story on. It wouldn't have been the end of the world, since most of the stuff is backed up in other places, but this installment gave me fits, and I really didn't want to rewrite it. But in the end, I found it, and here you go. Part 53: Killing Giants
  8. @Bright- yeah, I hate making choices like that, especially when there's such a potential to hurt people's feelings. Mallena is fare more decisive than I am. @Alaurin- I'm glad you're enjoying Mallena. I really enjoy writing for her, much more than I thought I would when I created the character. @Charmedseed- In-game, it's your choice when to return to duty, though I think she mentions something about cutting your leave short. I would have done it this way in any case. However, she does pop the question suddenly like this, with no real buildup. Comments: Today's story is a bit of backstory for the latest update of my longer fic, She Who Battles Monsters: An Assassin's Tale, however, it's not necessary to be familiar with it to understand this one. Title: Fall from Grace Prompt: Brotherhood/sisterhood (It's not as close to the prompt as I'd like, but that was the one I had in mind, and their relationship is definitely the catalyst for the events) Characters: Karanni Lo'rue (Sith Warrior), Quillan Lo'rue (an original character, Sith apprentice and Karanni's brother), Lord Erius (Quillan's master and the man who raised them) Length: 1,000 words Spoilers: blink-and-you'll-miss-it reference to Sith Warrior Dromund Kaas Index latest of all Karanni stories so far Contains some torture/violence. Definitely still PG-13, though.
  9. It's been a while since I posted pictures of my legacy, so here are some Jedi Master Feyte Saien, Bar'senthor and Mender of the Rift: A solidly nice girl who genuinely tries to help the galaxy. Captain Jessasi Silver: a fun-loving and impulsive twi'lek who can't stand routines. Darth Occulus, formerly known as Kiarn Skyfall: A scheming woman who walks the line between light and dark, trying to build her own powerbase without becoming a Sith in ideology as well as name. Captain Mallena Dayne: A fine, upstanding young trooper who's following the family tradition of military service, losing her hand in the process of hunting down some defectors. Apprentice Karanni Lo'rue: A bitter, angry young Sith who just wants everyone to suffer as much as she does Eyrie Lancaster, Knight of the Republic: A talented young knight who's trying to be the perfect Jedi, no matter how much fruitless self-sacrifice that involves.
  10. I'm back, with the rest of my comments and a story! How come whenever something weird is going on in my romantic life, I end up writing about Mallena's? I never plan for it to turn out this way, it just does. Anyway, enjoy! Title: Return to Duty Prompt: Changes/New Paths Characters: Mallena Dayne (trooper), Aric Jorgan, Elara Dorne Length: 1,300 words Spoilers: The opening conversation for Trooper Act 2 Index after Constant Interruption, of which this is a continuation Note:
  11. Thank you everyone who liked my stories! Eyrie's Chronic Hero Syndrome has been going on for a very long time, and it's going to get her in trouble one of these days. @Charmedseed- congrats on the boy! And yes, this actually happened to me over Christmas break, although it was Arrow, rather than CSI. @Bright- As I said with the last one, WOW! I love reading these, and I'm pleased that I managed to make it on there a couple of times (3rd most prolific consular, one of the repeated names, and I believe the new inquisitor as well.) I had no idea I would show up at all. And now I know why the name Amurri seemed so familiar- I must have read it here. Sorry to whoever used that originally! Thanks again for doing this, it must have been a ton of work. Comments, with more to come later:
  12. Bright- Subtlety is not one of Karanni's strong points. As terrible of a person as Erius is, he had a point. She's probably not the best person to make privy to all your secrets. Alaurin- glad you're enjoying it! Frauzet- Kiarn is a much better Sith than she'd be willing to admit it. She at least has the "stick your nose in everyone else's business" part down. Part 51: A Weekend Alone Note (contains spoilers for Sith Inquistor end chapter 1):
  13. OK, I'm back, well rested, and looking forward to a day with a good friend @CapnJayde- Welcome! Again, always glad to see new people Comments: Title: Training Days Prompt: Like No One's Watching Characters: Eyrie Lancaster (Jedi Knight), Doc Length: 900 words Spoilers: None Index earlier than all other Eyrie pieces so far Title: Kiarn Skyfall, AKA Darth Occlus Prompt: Description Characters: Kiran Skyfall (Sith Inquisitor) Length: 450 words Spoilers: None
  14. Well, after several weeks, I have returned! It's nice to see so much life in the thread @Feldraeth- Welcome! Glad to have you here. We always love new people. You didn't have to archive binge, though to feel like you can post, though you certainly can. @Bright- Thank you! I think Eyrie's piece is my favorite that I've ever done for this thread, so it feels really good to get compliments on it. Comments: It's getting late and I have a busy day tomorrow, so more comments and my own work later.
  15. Thank you very much, Irongut! Wow, it's the 50th installment! If I remember when I started writing this correctly, it's been a little more than a year since I started, so I've been averaging around a thousand words per week posted, which isn't too bad, though I wish I was writing faster. Anyway, I couldn't think of anything super special to do for the 50th, but I did add in a little something that I hope everyone will like. Part 50: Reunion Contains minor spoilers for Sith Warrior Dromund Kaas
  16. If you haven't done any Imperial side characters, I'd suggest doing the Bounty Hunter first. But nothing says you have to, it's a bit of a toss up. You could also start one of each, and play both, either simultaneously, or until you decide which one you want to level first. My opinions (I've gotten both through level 40-ish): In the beginning, bounty hunter is better, but once you hit act 2, trooper improves and bounty hunter loses a bit of steam. I've played a healing merc and a tank vanguard, and I don't find either of them particularly interesting in playstyle, but the merc was slightly better. I know a lot of people enjoy both, though. If this sort of thing matters to you, bounty hunters get their healer companion earlier than any other class, but you only have to wait until the low twenties on a trooper, so it's not much of a factor. Tanks for hunters take a while to show up, though, and it will be a while before anything besides the healer is available for companions, unless you have treek or HK Overall, though, just do what you want.
  17. Hope everyone had a very merry Christmas, and happy New Year going forward! Part 49: Zeal and Fervor
  18. @Alaurin- thanks again for all your hard work on the index. Would you mind moving Feyte's distress call piece to in between The Road to Coruscant and My Friend? Thanks! Sorry, I forgot to mention that when I posted it. Comments: Here's a little something I cooked up in concept a while ago, but I needed a while to work on it, resulting in my skipping this prompt in my "use all the prompts" quest that I undertook a while ago. But now I'm back to it! Title: Meanwhile, on Corellia, part 1 Prompt: Mission Accomplished Characters: Felix Iresso, Feyte Saien (Jedi Consular), Qyzen Fess Length: 1,000 words Spoilers: Jedi Consular Act III, references to Jedi Knight final boss Note:
  19. Bright- Hmm, that would be interesting. I haven't really done anything with crew skills in my fics, that's something I should think about. Well, finals are done, and I managed to get a little writing done in between! Part 48: Meeting a Rebel
  20. @Charmedseed- I can't speak for Alaurin, but you guessed right on my part JK, but I'm glad it made you feel something. It's always a goal of mine to spark emotion, but I don't always know if I succeed, so thank you. Comments: Took a break from studying for finals long enough to write a piece. Someday, after I replay this section on Eyrie, I'll expand on it a bit. Title: Distress Call Prompt: (Un) Invited Guests Characters: Feyte Saien (Jedi Consular), Eyrie Lancaster (Jedi Knight), Lt. Iresso, Nadia Grell, Tharan Cedrax, Holiday, Qyzen Fess, T7-01, Doc, Sgt. Rusk, Kira Carson, Lord Scourge Length: 1,300 words Spoilers: Jedi Consular Act 2, minor early companion conversation for Lt. Iresso, references and strong hints for Jedi Knight Act 2
  21. Despite my best intentions, writing has been going kind of slow lately. Busy with finals, holiday prep, and other stuff. But here's another chapter. Part 47: The Tablet
  22. Comments: So, for this next story, I'm doing something totally different. Despite my inner protestations that I barely have time to write about one set of characters, much less two, I started developing a new legacy, one that includes *gasp* males! This is the origin story for four of them. I can't offer any good estimate of when I'll start writing about them properly, and some of the details may morph between now and then (particularly name spelling, lol), but here goes. I'd love to hear what ya'll think. Title: One Fateful Morning Prompt: Worst Day Ever Characters: Khati Hayne, Vys Hayne, Soriah Hayne, Fornir Hayne (I won't say which classes they'll end up as, cause that would spoil the surprise for later Alaurin, you don't need to make index entries for these guys yet, just put it under "other" or something like that for now) Length: 2,200 words Spoilers: None!
