Wow at the responses here.... BioWare does not care about cheating, exploiting and hacking. Therefore, the likelihood of this getting fixed is probably near zero. So just enjoy getting roflstomped by cheaters.

I don't go into games to "make a bunch of friends" but that's just how I like to play. If I find a guild and I have with competent people who like end-game, I'm there to do what I've been asked to do and that's how I find enjoyment. Just because it's an MMO doesn't automatically mean that everyone is there for the same reason. Again, with optional tools you can still spam general/whisper people at your leisure and get them to do things with you. I personally do not like doing this and find it to be a HUGE waste of my time. I guess maybe I just don't see how a tool like LFG suddenly stops you from spamming general chat, whispering to people and the like and that suddenly magically you'll never find another player on your server whom isn't in your guild to ever chat with.

WoW was fine prior to LFG and WoW was fine post LFG. In fact WoW still has and has had more than 10,000,000 people playing the game for over 2 years. Consider that, 10,000,000 who are playing the game. WoW has lost 2,000,000 subs throughout Cata but that isn't 100% solely because of LFG/LFR. Cata was a horrible xpac and people just got tired of playing the same game for years and years and years. ZOMG but no one ventures out of the cities and just clicks a button? Most people who are playing are level capped, there is no reason really outside of LoreMaster to leave the cities. If you go on servers like Blackrock, Illidan, Tich and watch trade chat there are huge amounts of people looking for localized groups. So the community didn't just shrivel up and blow away into nothingness as some would claim, it's still VERY MUCH THERE and 10,000,000 people says it's still doing well. Again, LFG is and will always be a 100% OPTIONAL tool. You can still do the same things with your guild and friends that you're doing now. "New players" are still going to try and find guilds. What's really great is that people are going to have to waste their time spamming general chat for long periods of time on lower population servers. Server mergers aren't really a good solution because then you run the very high risk of name problems and then you have to decide - who keeps and who doesn't. Names are kind of important things to people.

And the counter argument is, "you're better off finding a guild and when you're not able to do things with a guild then tools like this are available to you so that you are not wasting your time". Furthermore, at least on my server the only time people talk is when there is a wipe. Other than that it's get in, get it done and move on. Frankly, I'm pretty darn OK with that. You may not be but that's you and again all this stuff is OPTIONAL.

Outside of trying to get people to spend their credits on overpriced crap on the GTN there really isn't a need for any profession other than BioChem. You can level from 1-50, gear out in FP, FP HMs and then OPS and finally OPS hm/nmm without ever using anything from any profession. Professions are nothing more than social aspects of the game and ways to make credits. But, but, but I can make something that "may" crit and it'll be good. Yeah, but it is an item that is not needed in order to complete all end-game content and the value add isn't enough to wade through the rng aspect of crafting.

This is such total bull. If you are running OPS/FP's with your "FRIENDS" and your "GUILD" and they hate it as much as you, then you have ZERO FREAKING issue. Moreover, MY time bucko is important to me and spending more than 45+mins on Darth Sion spamming general chat for an FP group isn't a good use of MY time. If you dig that sorta thing power to you, I do NOT.

I do not understand why people cry and whine about something they absolutely NEVER have to use EVER. They can still go from 1-<whatever cap is>, they can still do whatever end-game is and NEVER EVER have to use the LFG/LFR. ZOMG I hate <x company> for adding tools that I NEVER EVER have to use. ZOMG I hate players for using a tool that enhances their gaming experience. ZOMG I had a bad experience using an optional tool, I know I kept using it and I know it's OPTIONAL but I hate you all for putting it there and my using it. There is absolutely nothing wrong with LFG/LFR cross-server. A localized LFG/LFR still doesn't resolve the lack of <X class here> or lower server populations. Moreover, a localized server limits interaction with the tens of thousands of people in the game to what at times appear to only be a few hundred people on a server. REMEMBER, LFG/LFR IS A 100% OPTIONAL TOOL THAT YOU NEVER EVER HAVE TO USE. IT IS OPTIONAL, IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT YOU DO NOT EVER HAVE TO USE IT.

I am sure I'm not the only person who thinks or asks this but WHAT F'ING COMMUNITY ARE YOU PEOPLE TALKING ABOUT? Seriously, what community? I'd like to know where this "community" supposedly is and how to interact with them. All this stupid f'ing crying about, "I'll quit if there is an LFG blah blah" it ruins the "community". Tell us, what community are you talking about? Where is it? Oh you mean all 45 to 90 people hanging out in the Fleet? THAT COMMUNITY? Or the community where you spend more than 45+ mins spamming for a f'ing simple FP hm? Or the community where PvP'ers are waiting 30+mins to 2hrs to get into a WZ that they're not getting credit for if they win? Is THAT the community you're speaking of? Like many of you, I for one am so fed the f'ing hell up with the "it'll ruin community" crap I could choke an elf on Christmas day. Guess what, there really isn't much in the way of "community" for most servers. Running a FP/WZ/OPS isn't going to magically endure people to one another and suddenly they're best friends. I know shocking as it may seem. Lastly, to those of you who keep f'ing crying about LFG hurting community - YOU DO NOT EVER HAVE TO F'ING USE ANY OPTIONAL TOOLS IN THE GAME EVER. So please be courteous to those of us who grow tired of spamming for long periods of time on our lessor populated servers and enjoy the game just like you are. I gotta tell ya I am so sick and tired of people like you with this whole, "server community" crap. Try playing on a server that you on average spend more than 45mins spamming looking for a group because either people are not geared enough to do or there just aren't enough of either dps/heal/tank. Localized LFG doesn't freaking totally solve this issue. If there is a shortage, there will still be a shortage even after the goddang LFG is implemented. Why is that so hard for people to comprehend? While you make not give a crap about your time and how you spend it online there are tens of thousands of other people who do and we don't want to spend our time wasted spamming and begging for a group. These tools are and will always be 100% OPTIONAL. YOU DO NOT EVER HAVE TO USE THE TOOL. YOU CAN STILL DO FP/OPS/WZ WITH YOU GUILD AND FRIENDS AND THIS NEVER WILL EVER AFFECT YOU AT ALL.

Origin Systems which was based out of Austin, Texas produced some of the greatest games of all time; which included titles like Wing Commander, Privateer (way ahead of its time), AH64D Longbow and many Janes flight sims, Ultima and eventually OU which would lead to the companies downfall. Aside from partnering with EA. Origin, we create worlds... It would seem that there is a long trend of development companies which team up with EA or are bought out by EA and promptly turn to utter trash. Not saying this is going to happen with BioWare but there just really aren't many success stories after mergers or partnerships.

What an awesome community we have here... It really is just the best MMO community out there.. People just treat one another with the most amazing levels of respect and kindness. You just never ever find any rude people in SWTOR, the only rude people on the net play WoW.. \

Lol, get a guild.. I swear to God people are just so totally brain dead. I am in a guild, we raid 3 nights a week. However, there are currently only 4 of us online and 2 of them are not level 50. But I mean we don't need a LFG because the community is just so f'ing awesome and spamming general chat just builds friendships and makes the community stronger.

28ms and still spamming general chat for an FE / Kaon hm group... Yep, this is so much fun and what an awesome community building experience this is...

18mins now spamming /1 lfg - dps - FE or Kaon hm at the Fleet... 115 ppl at the Fleet currently and 6 of us are using the LFG tool in the /who... Na, we don't need any LFG tools cuz this is really building quality community right thar.. Yep, I just feel so close to my fellow gamers right now..

Because you absolutely are required to use it, amirite? I mean we're all required to use optional tools which may or may not benefit us, amirite?

Come to the Darth Sion server, level a toon to 50 and then f'ing tell me how easy it is to find an ops group or a fp hm group. After you've sat your rear in the fleet for more than an hour begging for a group we'll see you back here spouting this non-sense.

Blizzard isn't doing a whole lot to promote the game, lots of people leaving are people who've been playing the game for 3+ years. Seriously, after that amount of time playing the same crap over and over and over and over and over, it gets old and stale. The fact that the game has consistently had more than 10,000,000 subscribers for more than 3 years is beyond amazing.

This is such a load of bull.. Absolutely NO ONE has any factual proof of any kind that LFG and now LFR has had dramatic negative impact on the game as a whole. There are as many jerks on your WoW server as there are on someone else's. Have people been rude? Yep. I've run into rude people locally. Have people ninja'd? Yep. I've seen people ninja locally. Have people idled? Yep. I've seen people idle locally. Every single thing that people cry and whine about in a cross-server LFG you can find locally. Please save the, "but this lets us police our server" - a) people aren't going to spam lists and lists of people 24/7 on who's been rude b) people just aren't going to care if you say billy was rude and c) people forget in time anyway.. I suspect that you'll get an LFG about the same f'ing time that BioWare fixes Soa. Should be around Christmas 2018.
