  1. Don't know about everyone else but I am ready for the 2.5 patch notes. What's with the footdragging, Bioware?
  2. No amount of skill will allow you to squeeze the sort.of single target burst out of vigilance as someone with.half a brain could.manage playing focus. Let alone have it available on demand. 4 seconds of cc immunity 1.5 of which are taken up by leap is a pathetic consolation. Come 2.4 assault/pyro will make it even more pointless. And what exactly is this retarded argument that it is not "supposed" to be on par with focus?
  3. Had this very issue on several characters. What's interesting was that bioware declared the issue fixed months ago.
  4. Wrong. It increases the damage of PERIODIC elemental effects i.e. dots. If it affected ion pulse I would be content.
  5. While I don't personally care about ranked 8v8 it blows my mind that a bunch of people paid to transfer to pvp servers just to do them and will shortly be SOL. That's just twisted.

  7. I would give up the matrix cube for a combo of power/crit relics. Assuming they don't break the procs again.

My current rotation utilizes everything the spec offers because the only way to truly squeeze burst ouf it is by throwing everything and the kitchen sink at the target (the name I chose for my rotation). Guaranteed plasma cell from stock strike works exctremely well because it ensures that I don't have to preapply the dot and lose a gcd or risk resetting the refresh cooldown. Having said that, under the best and most unlikely circumstances with all of my tech abilities critting in the neigborhood of 3.5-5k (x3) followed up by a 5-6k hib+ 500-1100 PC tick leaves target with plenty of reserves and the only thing I can offer is burnout (LOL). Ion pulse with a guaranteed pc burn hits for at least 2k but if critting in the execute stage can hit for 3-3.5k +1.2k pc. This is not exactly execute level damage but it's something. Which we will not have. New assault plastique isn't making up for that so good luck with that burst.
  9. Actually, it's nothing like the German system. It's more like the Swiss system, the 2nd most expensive system in the world.
  10. As MMORPGs go it's barely middle age at 5 years old. I have a feeling that GM watched the game fail hard and balked at doing anything else with Mythic/EA vis a vis this game, including extending the license. And so the game never went F2P, etc. To be sure the amount of wrong in that game was monumental, including itemization. It boggled my mind when so much of it wound up in SWTOR, a clear instance of lessons not learned.
  11. Evasion does not prevent smash damage and when specced for it smash does more damage than VS in vengeance while refunding 1 rage. It is useful when everything else is on cooldown and I have killed/revealed stealthing ops with 4k smashes (don't forget the 9% force crit chance bonus).

    A good shadow player is very noticeable because there are so few of them. They are an excellent burst dps/control class which benefits from pairing with classes which have high burst/sustain but poor control such as combat or vigilance enabling them to do their dps easier and relieving some of the performance pressure from the shadows.
  13. Pre 2.0 the spec had a 10 second 60% crit chance buff to VT and FS which was not consumed on activating said abilities. While proccing a free dispatch earlier in the fight helps with sustained damage 2.0 was a substantial nerf to the spec's burst. VT hits harder than impale and has a 10m range. This suggestion is perfectly reasonable especially since impale is white damage.

  15. Hammer>hib>ir>ap>sticky>battle focus>ss (coincides with ap)>hib/ip (coincides w/ sticky)>stun/ip/hib. The burst comes from 4 abilities and dots hitting over 2 gcds during which you fire off ss and hib. This rotation is too long if you are simply assisting. In that case full assault is wasteful.

  17. You can use it while stunned. If invested in the 2nd tier middle tree skill granting focus on being stunned or slept you have plenty of focus to take care of the skill's needs. It's a decent skill especially for vig/veng types and useable for 10sec/min.
  18. I have an issue with the marked sentence. In my view it invites negative comments along the lines of "you want to be immortal... switch to immortal... roll a marauder... while keeping your dps.." etc. Defensives are there to either prolong the inevitable allowing you to do your job a little longer or to give healers a chance to keep you up. 4% healing/sec is pretty good and focus/rage is rarely starved for focus/rage. If the community is dead set on going this way I would suggest recasting this intro somehow. As I suggested previously, the horrible skill lowering focus cost of this ability could be questioned with the idea of improving the ability. I am not sure you have to give them justification other than the skill is high in the tree and offers relatively low utility for improving the skill which it supports, enraged defense.
  19. Commandoes and their opposites, the merc have heals so go ahead and h2f. Vanguards/PTs have the previously mentioned abilities which are excellent although flawed due to their static cooldowns. On the other hand the above archetypes do not have executes which is kinda silly. Knights/SWs have executes but no offensive cooldowns.

I do NOT see why rage should be competitive with vengeance in the department of single target dps and yet not only is it competitive, often enough it is better with ravage and vicious throw/slash hitting harder as well as faster and more reliable burst delivery. The crazy aoe damage can be looked at as an overly tactically important "fringe benefit". Unless the community (or me) completely misunderstands the point of vigilance/vengeance it should be the single target leader due to the lower "efficiency" of single target dps. I get that the sustained dps is better (marginally) but is it the ultimate purpose of the spec? Perhaps the community should consider this. Also, while a faster channel on ravage would be nice and would allow vengeance to have some of carnage's effectiveness, that's not what I am advocating. I just think it's unreasonable for a melee class to have to rely on a single target channel one has to be stationary for to use and most of whose dps is locked in the last and easiest to avoid part. Questioning this particular damage profile is not unreasonable and I will make it a point to raise the question on the guardian forum since the RNG is also important.
