I personally have no fear of losing a name. I know some (especially those who have been with TOR since early beta like I have) may take exception to this. But a name is insignificant imho. If the game is fun I'm happy to roll with whatever, and actually relish having to go outside the box and be creative in the toon naming game.
This kind of thinking may extend your life by reduceing needless stress.

I use a Sega DreamCast Keyboard.
Its not compatable though so I went to work and emailed myself text so i could copy and paste on the forum.
-
Because Its easier than being difficult to obtain.
-
Use Hemmoroidus as a legacy name and you will most likely not worry about your name being taken on any server.
-
Load times are for making a baloney sandwich.
Gamers need to eat healthy and stay alert.
-
Why do people feel that everything should be easy to obtain?
Because they invented microwave ovens.
To make instant coffee you had to boil water on a stove.
Before that you had to chop wood to burn in your old iron pot stove to boil water and there was no instant coffee.
Before that you had to Chop wood, heat a tin pot over an open camp fire.
Before that, there was no coffee and to survive you had to sift through the hair on your girlfriend's back for lice if it were the only source of nutrition around. If she waxed her back you'de die .

Razer Arctosa
The best programable keyboard for the price, period.
http://www.amazon.com/Razer-Arctosa-Gaming-Keyboard-Black/dp/B001L5U18E
The Razer Arctosa Silver Edition comes with Silver colored text on black keys
The Hyperesponse keys of the Razer Arctosa reduce key latency
The Razer Arctosa addresses ghosting signal failure that occurs when you press multiple keys simultaneously on traditional keyboards.
Selective anti-ghosting around the WASD gaming cluster on the Razer Arctosa allows more commands to be entered at any one time
Fully programmable keys with macro capabilities that enable instantaneous, multiple commands with a single keystroke

Are there any decent affordable gaming keyboards? I am not going to drop $89 on a gaming keyboard just because it has a section for games and tons of new buttons.
Razor Arctosa around the $40 mark Basic features of gaming keyboard.
streamlined version of the lycosa, you dont get back light all that .Not overly teched out , just a lightweight durable keyboard for those who dont use all the extras.
2 versions 1 with white(Silver version) key icons or the completley black keys

This all sounds like Pre-launchers screaming bloody murder....,The reason why they have so many servers to begin with.
Let me In my moneys just as good !
Why do I have to wait !
This isn't fair!
I want My 5 days Prelaunch time!! (however they did get almost everyone in for the 5 days prelaunch period)
No matter what they do its going to be bloody murder ,some got in a few days earlier than others as they let people in with a monthly count down prior to the prelaunch 5 day gametime.
I just see mmo players as the never satisfied customer thats simply never satisfied.

I might add it wasn't always easy in Guildwars 1 to group at a lower level either, unless they dragged your a** along out of pity so you could progress.
That or they booted you because you were total waste of resources.

The problem I see with allowing transfers is while it's great for 50's who can actually enjoy end game content it doesn't solve the starter population issues.
I recently re-rolled another character on one of the destination servers for transfers, I already got a 50 on there. What I'm seeing currently is a huge population imbalance, right now there's at least ten times more level 50's online than there are sub 49 levels which means it's more difficult to find people to group up with unless you've hit 50, great for my 50 but not for my 19.
Just chucking hundreds of level 50's on the server is not going to solve the population issues as a whole, server merges are needed to insure the server populations are balanced level wise, quite frankly the only people who would be more likely transfer their alts anyway would be people who put 100's of hours and a lot of effort into them rather than someone with a level 20 something they only spent a couple of hours on.
So skip the transfer stage and head straight for merges, that's what the population really needs, not the 50's sink it is becoming.
Are you the only one who has a level 50 and a lower level character or characters?
And at this point in the game there should be alot of level 50s, and those level 50s also have other characters that are level 50 and below.
When you roll or reroll a character your going to have rudolph rednosed rendeer syndrome watching all the level 50s group.

Good Post
"You dont know what you got ..til its gone"
Other observations:
Forums have a mob mentality ,such as, A street riot, stoning people (you know way back) Salem witch hunts.
The launch of WoW wasn not free of this mentality either, So mobs dont change, the mentality doesnt change.
Mobs are mobs and they snowball like crap rolling down a mountainside.
Then there are those who feel entitled because they want to actually live in an mmo....thats another story.

People on the forum have also told BioWare OMG I Can't Swim and OMG What's Going to Save this Game is Ship Furniture(OMG). You cannot design a game by forum QQ alone.
LOL ...no s***

".... Transfers are coming.... "
Yes the process begins June 12th
-
In a previous Community Q&A we talked about character transfers, and announced that they were coming in early summer. Character transfers are a complex process, but we're almost ready to go. Starting next week on June 12th, 2012, we’re allowing character transfers to occur between selected servers in order to provide a better gameplay experience for our players by ensuring population balance across the service.
I know right this minute servers are lacking but If you read the date..
[ Starting next week on June 12th, 2012, we’re allowing character transfers to occur between selected servers in order to provide a better gameplay experience for our players by ensuring population balance across the service.]
I'm not trying to be blind to server population issues,But no one has read this?
Sorry 2nd time I posted this, but no one seems to acknowledge their first step in a process to try and resolve population concerns....the process begins june 12th,from that point on who knows?

Game Update 1.3 is focused around group content, with the Group Finder designed to help you enjoy Flashpoints, Operations and Heroic Missions in groups. However, we know that a Group Finder can only work when there is a large pool of players to draw from on a server. That's why the new Character Transfer Service is important: it will improve the overall player experience by facilitating maximized server populations across the service.
From,.Developer Tracker, see how this goes, Its a transition probably not an easy one,If you really enjoy the game see how it goes,Personaly I think the game is fun, probably many others think the same,Once some of the population is condensed it hopefully resolves alot of concern.

This.
I have seen announcements for things starwars but it was for 1313. I have seen nothing saying there was some major SWTOR announcement that was going to be made.
Sad thing is, people will believe the OP and then get upset at BW when they don't make some kind of announcement.
Yeah suddenly bioware will be liars........let the witch hunt begin

Hi there. I'm new around here.
I have been getting annoyed with my smuggler because taking cover causes the skills in my hotbar/quickslot bar to change. Right now, I have them set up in particular places based on the order in which I use them. However, once I go in cover, the order of the skills changes all around.
Now, I realize that some of the skills are only available when taking cover, and I realize that other skills are not available during cover. But I want to have my skills STAY in the quickslot bars in the order that I want, without changing.
I even went to the effort of moving certain skills off my hotbar entirely to test what happened - and the game put them back in. ARRRRRRRRRRGH.
Tips are appreciated. Thanks guys.
I thought it strange too, Ide rather only take cover if it was to take cover and add extra shielding just as a tactic like any other shield.
Instead it rearanges your kills and suddenly becomes non - intuiative.

Hey everyone - we do use several methods to get information out there, and social media is one of those methods. However, for anything that is critical to the service (maintenance announcements and updates, etc) and for our blogs and Q&As (which often contain new information that is of interest to the community), we use multiple methods - forum posts, tweets, and Facebook posts. For instance, we put a message in our launcher, a post on our forums, and information on Twitter earlier today when we experienced issues with some of the servers after maintenance. Anytime we're sharing something important and new, you will definitely see it here and on the site, as well as on other outlets that may be more convenient for some of our community. We encourage you to check our community blog and developer tracker frequently for news and information!
I think this Method covers all the bases, especially the legitimate , critical and worthwhile info you need is here in the forums.Whats wrong with useing other social media , just like 90 billion other companys do,seems like EVERY bussiness does it.
I dont use Twitter or Face book on a personal level. Its intrusive and obnoxiouse.
Lots of people get into trouble on those sites, like calling in sick to work then posting it for everyone to see.
includeing your boss, that you hate your job, your hung over, you have gas,you ate chicken last night, you have this many friends that you dont know but it looks like your popular but you'de actually only want to be friends with 1% of those people..Your researching a cure for diahreah for people who are full of **** Ect...

I dont know, its hard to leave an mmo , especialy when you make friends that would do just about anything for you,as long as they dont have to leave their pc ,desk & chair and it doesn't cost any money.
Abysmally long loading screens
in General Discussion

Didnt 1.2 add higher rez textures, then you use antialising and running the game on high settings could have extended some load times.
When I first arrive on a planet I expect a longer load time, everything after that is fast,a matter of seconds.
When I log into the game itself I expect a decent load time because I run everything on max settings.
In the end its just a few core areas that have a longer load time.
Traveling to different planets and logging into the game, but cannot report any legth of load time that was worth a complaint.
