  1. This is a pretty big piece (of content). It is probably all that I can say. It is definitely still for discussion whether we sell that to the subscriber or the subscriber gets that for free because it is a big beefy chunk of content. Walking on thin ice i'de say. What could warrant charging a subscriber to be charged unless... It was an expansion at least 1/2 the size of the core game. Maybe a new companion for each class A number of planets, not just one. Otherwise if they are adding 1 planet maybe a new companion a continuation of a current companions relationship 1 planets worth of quests and missions That should be free for a paid subscription. If they charge for any content for those who are paying a sub it should be SwTor II A whole new game with a number of planets ect..., not DLC single planet sized content To charge someone who is already paying a monthly Fee it better not be just a Beefy chunk, it needs to be a whole Cow.
  2. I want to play all my charactor classes i paid full price for Pre-order pre launch customer and charactor class storylines (which is offered in the F2P model) Ability to co op with friend occasional FPs. the rest is crap i could give a **** about. The Limits on F2P dont bother me much, they are sort of vague but,as a casual player i can live with most of the F2P limitations stated.
  3. The subscription offer is still there, and it should or better be worth while for those who have invested alot into the game these last 7 months. I pre-ordered, been paying sub,I'm not hardcore or as devoted but Ive still put out a good amount of $ in support of the game with no break in my subscription. I dont mind most of the vague limitations I saw as far as F2P,but if I subscribe or for those who do subscribe and remain subscribed and have supported the game since pre-launch should get perks that are worthwhile. Subscription worth it over F2P option will be a factor....I think for some it will, some it wont.
  4. Very Simply put...and good timeing too, I preordered so paid full price...... With that thought aside your example;because of the limited amount of time I have to play game Applies to alot of people, for whatever life/reality reasons they have.
  5. Well just see how it goes. ArenaNet/NCsoft have a great model:Guildwars-Factions-Eye Of the North No monthly fees—ever! Compelling story and customizable characters set in a stunning world PvP or roleplaying—you choose the gameplay style It seems Guildwars ONE,FACTIONS,EYE OF THE NORTH are still alive and kicking. I played all 3 from around 2005 to late 2007 I stopped only because Life changed,But it seems these games are still active and alive even with the incoming GW2. Loved the GW series,I chose it over WoW not just because of the subscription fees, I chose it over Wow because I found Wow Boreing, Graphicaly & Artisticaly Infererior,GamePlay was a TimeTrap Grind for the sole purpose of grinding and wasteing time because Time was Money. GW was Fun because it was Pure Fun and it looks like it succeeded alongside WoW for the last 7 years. Swtor has that same Fun Factor for me I say Go Free To Play but keep chargeing 14.99 for the core game then follow up with Huge Stand Alone Games,Charge for the Core game and be subscription free. Probably too late for that,Have to see how this EA/Bioware F2P model works out. Its 2012 going on 2013 and with todays economy NCsoft/ArenaNet model is the way to go.
  6. I think its a matter of preferance, commitment to a game that matters most. There are a variety of must haves, casual, hardcore, competative pvp'rs,the co-op casuals and hard core, guilds. I dont care all that much and not really dependant on swtor as my only gameing entertainment I'de say im casual so free to play might fit my preferance. time alotted to game and what im in the mood to play in my library is most important. Yes I pre-ordered , was here at launch and paid my sub for 7 months. There are no real specifics on the free to play model. I think level 50 free play is fair Some of the free play limitations for free play seem fair. And access to all class story lines is fair especialy if you pre-ordered,were there at launch and subscribed since the beggining and paid for the game as a whole from the start.
  7. start by asking the creators of guildwars 1,they seemed to have remained intact 8 years later to create guildwars 2 buy core game, play for free. Just an example that it has been done. Same with alot of co-op or multiuplayer games. Buy game play online or if multiplayer shooter, buy game shoot people online for free. Why should mmos be different than other genres. Might end up with more players and more core game sales.
  8. I think its a sign that subscription MMO's are dieing. Its a sign that mmo players will never be pleased, It's impossable to meet mmo players expectations. If you create an subscription mmo in 2013 you will fail. Alternative GW1's 2004 model, buy your core game play for free online...Create a new stand alone game with same model with same core design.the fans will buy the next game (not expansion but a stand alone game (with new classes) that you can travel with between both games with the core game charactors if you choose or with a new class you made in the next installment) Or the new model swtor is trying a subscription model for those that absolutely must have everything. Or the player hits level 50 and chooses to subscribe because they really like it and want the full experience. Those of us who purchased the game at launch who dont need everything....and are commited to other games in their library, the free to play is fine by me.Then I will play when i FEEL like it, not because I'm subscribed. I think people are tired of paying subscriptions , expect far too much when the pay a subscription to the extent that its too costly to try and please all the nutcases that expect far too much for their money. WoW will feel this soon, people will finaly say,Sorry you cannot create enough content fast enough and perfect enough according to my personal expectations. It is the gamer who has created an impossable task for game developers, they cannot keep up with all those chirping beaks sqwAuking and sqWuaking SqWauking like baby birds in a nest that will never have their appetite nuetralized.
  9. my thoughts streamlined and to the point, thanks lol
  10. I think I'll add this, really how badly is EA effecting your daily lives that you would deny yourself certain games that are really good that you'de like and not experience the game out of stubborness. I call "not supporting a gameing company EA" a bluff. If theres a great game you want badly , you will buy it, the rest is holding your breath until your face turns blue your mom knows your going to breath, your dad knows your going to breath and If EA pops out a game you want, your going to breath. We know you will breath, and if EA publishes a game you want badly enough your going to buy it. no ones fooling anyone here.
  11. I'm going free to play just for the fact that I'm in this for the stories of each class and co-op with a friend , just like DAO,DA2,mass effect 1 & 2,plan on buying ME3,if theres a DA3 ill be interested,I like the companion stories and interaction of all these games. I really dont care to jump on the hate wagon,I feel the hate wagon is trendy "hey everyone hate this and that" I like NFS-HS too. I also Like Ubisofts Assassins creed,Driver SF and Testdrive Ult.2 but everyone likes to hate on the DRM related to those games but it doesnt make the game less enjoyable, people just want to hate things to be trendy and opinionated.
  12. As should all MMO's GW1 is a good example of a good model. Pay for core game-they patch, update fix things, play for free! Develope another chapter (Factions stand alone game)Pay for Game ,Play for free! Develope another chapter (Eye Of the North stand alone game) Pay for game, Play for Free! You could even buy them in any order, choose to buy only one and GW1 was not required in order to play the other 2 games. All 3 were stand alone meaning you could purchase in any order, purchase only 1 game , didnt matter which one, purchase 2 of the games didnt matter. Or purchase all 3.
  13. Same Crowd thats paying for the subscription.15 dollars will not determine a persons behavioure. I pay for my subscription therefore I am a good person. I go to church ,therefore I am a good person. We all know both statements are false.
  14. Your hair looks fine, but your heads shaped funny.
  15. Too bad this MMO didnt follow the Guildwars Model, Buy game Play Free from the very start. Just like Border Lands or any other co-op or online community game. I honestly think all subscription mmos are going out the window. GW1 did great, buy game play free....Factions Buy game, play free....Eye Of the North Buy, Game Play Free. I just dont think subscription games will do well in this economy. If you can create a decent Core game, sell it,create DLC /expansions /Content of that core game ( You can then choose whatever content offered that you want) its better than the all or nothing model of Subscribe or ZERO$$ or complete loss of access to the game you bought because you do not want to subscribe but still enjoy the game.
  16. Expectations lead to dissapointment Usualy expectations are pre imagined Disney like dream worlds that dont exist, not even in Disney land.
  17. Question is will they remove character slots the core game launched with and subscribers paid for when buying the core game upon release. I believe I bought the game with 8 character slots. If I choose free to play will any of those origonal 8 slots be removed.
  18. Subscriptions and Pay to play is going to die soon. You will buy the core game, pick and choose what content to buy,in a sense like DLC added to your account. People will pick and choose what content they want to add to their account.the suff they are interested in. Some will be happy with the core game and find they've not the time to utilize all the extras.Yet paid for the core game ...kinda like GW. Then there are those who just have to have everything (nothing wrong with that either)
  19. I think subscription games suck anyhow. I gave Rift a shot I gave Swtor a shot...and I actually have fun with it. Now It will be fun for free just like Guildwars 1 series that I played a few years (Factions + Eye Of the North) Tried WoW (2004) but The first thing I suspected was "This game is a paid subscription game and everything is tediouse and time consumeing for a reason) reason Wasteing time doing tediouse tasks = $$$$ New Audience, people who could hide out for days and play for hours grew up, had families and now gameing is a media thats as popular as movies, sometime an entire family plays these games and it needs to be fun, not a chore dreamed up to consume time with tediouse crap thats like Bondo to cover a dent in a car. People want to drive the damned car not fabricate it by killing 100 poobears for 100 poobear tails to make a band aid .
  20. How many charactor slots does free to play offer. For those who bought the game I think 8 would be fair.
  21. I have too many games and too many moods to worry about all this.
  22. The end of the road is when you have a deadite spirit chaseing you through the woods in your car and the bridge is busted up and your name is Ash
  23. Well he the guy in the video cusses real good, didnt know people who could make you tube videos could cuss that good. he b****es real good too.I think the cussing makes his b*************** seem more like real b*************** than just regular b***************.
  24. Unfortunately people gravitate towards negativity, its more exciteing to criticize, more interesting to argue, more interesting to be critical ,and its more interesting to read the ridiculouse complaints and wonder what would actualy ever in this universe please half the complainers in forums. Its uncool to be a posative person in General forum. You think people ever actualy read the National Enquirer because its a pleasant mag, or was it succesful for its criticism, gossip, dirt and negativity. General forum is for the never satisfied, threats to unsub, the unhappy pessimist that put far too much dependance on a game developer to fullfill whatever empty discontent hole they have drilled in their own thick skulls.
  25. Negative threads, game bashing is far more popular than the posative feedback on the game. It's nice to see a posative thread though, even though its more exciteing for people to bash , hate on and argue about the game. The people who like the game are more interested in other constructive topics or playing more than they are complaining.
