  1. This is true, there was never any homosexuality in the star wars movies. You know what there was though? Luke kissing his sister. Clearly this means that instead of introducing same gender romances, they should introduce incestuous ones. It fits the star wars universe after all!
  2. To expand on this, Twi'leks and Cyborgs also both have customizations that are locked to class/faction. If you unlock the race then you get all of the customizations however. For Twi'leks this is skin color (Sith Twi'leks get red skin with black markings as an option) and for Cyborgs it's different cyborg pieces of metal to stick on your face (These vary on class - troopers, agents, BHs, smugglers, and Sith Warriors all get different options). Once you 'unlock' the race (by paying or getting to 50) you can use any of these customizations.
  3. http://www.swtor.com/free You get a varying amount of cartel coins for free based on the months you had a subscription.
  4. Queued for a 50 HM on a fresh 50 Scoundrel. Got a 55 Guardian tank in basic comm gear. Whatever, it will still be easy. Also got a 55 DPS Guardian and 55 DPS Shadow from the same guild - both were in full 78s. The proceeded to only attack the boss during boss battles, fight normal mobs from hardest to easiest, on the fight where you need to keep the droids from repairing the big machines they ignored it and I had to do it, then in the final boss when the claw came after them they stood there attacking the big guardian droid thing instead of moving away. They both got killed, and then I got killed and we wiped. So I whispered the tank and we kicked the two of them, then requeued, got two new DPS (a sage and a gunslinger) and beat the last boss in like 2 seconds. The Shadow and Guardian whispered about how I was a noob for letting them die and the worst healer ever, and that they ignored me so they'd never be forced to group with me again.
  5. It was mentioned a little up, but the whole reason I picked Elara was because of how Jorgan reacts if you ask him why you should pick him. He gets offended and insults Elara's abilities and acts like he's entitled to it. Overall, Jorgan is a very childish character. Elara details her abilities and her knowledge to get her promotion - moreover Jorgan's whole Act 1 character arc is how he is bitter and angry about being demoted, while Elara's is that she deals with extreme discrimination with a smile and by the book, because that's the right way to do it. The fact that when you pick Elara, Jorgan gets a conversation where he A. asks why you chose her over him when you're dating, then B. calls you blind for missing how unqualified she is, then C. Tells you you've 'made the wrong choice' just proves it. Jorgan is a whiny baby, not promotion material in the least.
  6. BT4 guys are the best, just saying. They're like big sumo-wrestlers. Bioware, I want some ****ty sumo-underwear CM armor for my fat guy to wear!!! I only have the one, and nothing looks good on him.
  7. Literally no one should run around with all 5 companions geared. It's not possible with how the game is designed - depending on your build you'll take one and it will probably be with you 90% of the time. Gearing all your companions is basically a bragging rights thing to do once you're in purple 55s. My first character, a marauder, was around before hte planetary commendation system. She got by just fine with Quinn is greens and herself in blues/a few oranges from FPs. And used Quinn continually forever, because the healer companions are great.
  8. It's cheaper to update a full set of oranges via Commendations (as has been recommended multiple times) than it is to Cybertech them. I can fully upgrade my gear every 4-5 levels using planetary commendations, without spending a dime. Honestly though, running around in greens isn't that bad. You can still do most content pre-50HM in all greens.
  9. Exactly, and a new player asked for advice, so advising them to get things from the GTN is a terrible idea. My Shadow can afford being decked out in all purple mods of her level because my sniper has 18 million credits, but I wouldn't advise anyone to do so as a new player. The planetary commendation vendors provide more than enough for a player to do same level content, even if it's not as optimal as buying from the GTN. I mean, a single blue willpower mod for level 38 on my server costs 29k. It is undercutting the next lowest price of 45k. That's a lot, seeing as missions are still giving around 3-4k at that point.
  10. GTN Crafters suck. You can easily get whatever type of secondary stats you need from planetary vendors, and FPs are not hard enough to justify having to minmax pre-50 HM. They also overcharge with how easy armorings/hilts/barrels are to get from the planetary vendor (hop over to Coruscant/Dromund Kaas, get 12 planetary commendations in 30 minutes.)
  11. Alacrity isn't bad on healers though? Or even DPS? Quick Savant (Power + Alacrity) enhancements are amazing for some builds. A scoundrel/operative healer should hit at least 412 alacrity, because it lets them get a whole extra action in before their slow release medkits end, which lets them keep it up on an additional person in OP content. My guild's scoundrel can keep slow releases up on 12 people and still fit in big heals on the tanks, which makes it super easy for him to have emergency medpacks/kolto packs up for when he needs to, if the other healers start slacking. Critical is worthless on every build though.
  12. Taking commendations for quest rewards, I tend to fill up every planet or so, but I do bonus series and FP dailies. I usually spend around 90 of these each time, fully upgrading every piece of gear on myself, then next time I fill up upgrading all of my companion of choice's gear. This makes it very quick and easy to do anything of my level.
  13. T3-M4 customization for the JEdi Knight robot! Baby rancor mount!
  14. This is due to SD-0's unique mechanic - it shoots two beams out at two different people. These two people must spread themselves out, away from each other, to lessen the damage. If only one person is there, then this beam deals 4k a hit and always hits, as if two people stood ontop of each other during it. Though it is apparently doable as a ranged class.
  15. And actually supported by the game, as the Jedi Council refuses to hear about you being 'good' even when you prove you are - you're a corrupting influence and after the jedi strike team that plans to kill you falls to the darkside to try and kill you, you get mail confirming that the Council blames you for it. The Jedi are pretty prejudiced, especially as the Sith Warrior wouldn't likely go quietly - their whole plan involves The idea that the Jedi Council wouldn't kill the Emperor's Wrath is more amusing
  16. I don't think the Coruscant World Boss is soloable - i've watched level 55s get 3-4 hit, due to its special mechanic.
  17. Sith Warrior Imperial Agent Trooper Smuggler I'm not much a fan of tragedy, but I do love a good Martyr figure.
  18. Healing is a lot easier in my opinion - a simple task of learning rotations, sometimes having to heal a DPS who is stupid. Tanking is much more reactive.
  19. Yeah, he's one of the worst, but most of the romances girls get are kinda terrible. I don't know if Bioware just doesn't know how to write them ( look at Sky, Carth, Kaiden, and the weird Drell guy from Mass Effect 2 all being the same character) or if they think we actually like whiny tortured characters with terrible pasts. I'd kill for any game to give me the option to romance a Kaliyo as a girl - the closest you have is the lesbian girl from Jade Empire. By 'a kaliyo' I mean someone who is after fun, and who doesn't go OMGH I LOVE YOU REPLACE MY DEAD WIFE THX
  20. All high level barrels/armourings are actually bound to their slot, so you can't, for instance, buy a belt and then put that armouring into your shield generator. Same with gunslinger's second gun, their offhand weapon at high level (read: level 55 Ops) uses offhand only barrels, which you cannot put into your main hand weapon. This was done because things like Belts/Bracers are cheaper than chestpieces/legs.
  21. Corso is misogynistic and even though he constantly acknowledges how you're tougher than him, he insists that a man has to protect a woman, it's just the right thing! I lose influence with him whenever my smuggler stands up for herself or tells him to stop standing up for her. He's super annoying, and I'd space him out the airlock if I could.
  22. Had a tank yesterday who intentionally was pulling tons of mobs trying to 'troll' us or something, and then laughing about how we'll never get another tank if we kick him. I just pulled out treek, the rest of the dungeon went just fine, even had a tank join right before the last boss. Guy was PMing me after we kicked him saying how we'd never beat the dungeon and ****, it was funny.
  23. Well, an important thing to note is that a majority of military forces did not have rules about fraternization in the least, and it's made clear that the Republic has bureaucratic ways to go about courting someone under your command. If you romance Temple as an Imperial Agent, she mentions that they'll probably have to keep it a secret, since Imperial Intelligence would likely seperate and/or kill one of them. Also, Kira is pretty much your equal, you just are THE CHOSEN ONE. From what I remember, she's actually a little older than you - you just are the strongest Jedi to come out of training in a long time, and get promoted fast. Nadia, however, is a super creepy romance, because she officially is your Padawan and actually acts like it - you actually have the duty of teaching her how to do things, and a male Consular uses that position to get in her robes. Ick. Edit: Also, I picked Dorne because Jorgan was complaining about her constantly, as well as complaining about his demotion, and generally wasn't portrayed in a way a leader should be (he was angry, whiny, he insulted people under his command, belittled everything when he had the rank to do so). Dorne was by the book, and promoting her was a big step towards showing that the Republic promotes efficiency and those who follow the rules, regardless of their heritage. I was dating Jorgan and he actually pulls the 'but we're in a relationship!' card IIRC. That just proves he's unsuited to being promoted.
  24. Oh yeah, totally agree. Sith Warrior and Agent are two of the best stories because most of your moral choices have really interesting neutral picks, as well as the MURDERMURDERKILL and 'and thus he released the poor sod who just tried to kill him with no reprecussions'. But overall I think the Light Side choices were more fit to be mixed in with Neutral - by the end of the game my character had Edit: As for power building options, the only one I remember as being neutral is on Nar Shadda, where the Sith you're tracking down can either be Exiled to the Outer Rim (Light Side) forced to swear fealty to you (Neutral) or murdermurderkilled (Dark Side) Two of the three others who showed up were Lightside choices I made, while I think the last might have actually been a Dark Side choice? I forget.
  25. ^^ This issue is that, if you go pure darkside (which is dumb, never pick choices just on alignment) you kinda are a stupid attack dog. The Lighside sith warrior spares his enemies, tells them to trust her, offers them assistance, and generally builds up her power base to the point where even the Jedi Council hears of her, though they don't know what to do. The Dark Side one meanwhile ruins every chance they have to build a powerbase - if you pick every dark side choice, you follow Baras' orders to murder everything in your path perfectly, then you are left with next to no allies. The Light Side sith warrior is much better at portraying themselves as seeking their own power through alliances, while the Dark Side is much better at seeking power like a sith - murdering their way to power. I'd say that the Sith Warrior and Agent stories were the two best Lightsiders I've made, guy two posts above me, out of Consular, Agent, Warrior, Smuggler, and Trooper. They're not 'peace and love' but they're patriots who realize that the way their country is run is consuming it. The Light Side Agent is interesting because it's Light Side to , because the Light Side Agent views them as the biggest threat to the Empire. I'm almost certain both of them were written with Light Side in mind.
