  1. Some people make games; Some people play games; Some people work on games. The ones that make games see it as a business; The ones that play games see it as fun; The one that work on games get angry about the other two.
  2. And how would it be possible to enforce that? How would you make sure a certain player is of a certain age. Better yet, how do you know that certain player age is adequate to his/her mental age and actions? I've met lots of 16yo and even younger players that act much more mature than 40yo ones. Ermmm... Really? I can't point out reasons for that to be a good or bad idea since it's a VERY personal opinion, but mounting and jumping on capital cities on mmorpgs is something that exists since mmorpgs are around... at least those that allow jumping. It's a place for those with the pass. It's fluff. Making it useful would mean making it demanded for sure. Do you think giving a 1.5 million credits advantage to those with collectors edition would be a good idea? Most of the stuff you said in this part is already on the works.
  3. Are you sure of that? I've been really trying to figure that out, and all was saying that taunts are just temporary threat. Force the enemy to attack you, and as soon as the taunt timer ends, you'll lose all that taunt threat. Truth is that I've seen dozens of times mobs running for the dps and healer right after the timer on the taunt ends. I'm convinced that taunt threat is temporary.
  4. 100% agreed, because it's not possible to agree more than that. I don't have a mouse filled with side and top buttons. I have a mouse with 3 extra buttons. I use those as Alt, Shift and Ctrl modifiers. I've unbind "R" and "F", binded alt+q and alt+e, all numbers and some extra keys. As you can imagine, I'm a "keybinder", not a clicker, and all those details that I just posted allow me to have both bottom bars fully keybind, some sidebars with keybinds, and even the companion attack. Now, that seems to work, right? Well, it doesn't. I have a lvl 50 Shadow, a lvl 50 Juggernaut, 40 Sorcerer and a 25ish Operative. The only Character with some free slots on the bars is the operative, and that's really because I'm just 25 there. Checked the upcoming abilities, and I noticed that I don't have space for all of them. Do I have to chose between my abilities? Well, I can't. There NOT even one ability that I don't use on my shadow and Juggernaut. I use them all and frequently. Not saying the same about the sorcerer because I'm not playing it now (wrong server due to early access guilding and there's no char transfer atm) and the Operative well, I use all abilities but still a bit low. Anyway, all this to say that it would be almost ok for the excessive abilities if some weren't that useful, but they are, and if I want to perform well I really have to use them all. (it's really weird to watch videos with people using just a handful of abilities on the bars. Kinda makes me wonder) I'm hoping that 1.2 will bring some extra bars so I can put a "click" bar in the bottom for those less (although useful) used abilities (Relics, medpacks, adrenals fit that description too)
  5. Good question. I know someone that camps it. he just logs there, get the chest, and afk. as soon as booted to char select he just relogs and repeats. Being afk also means he wont answer to /w or anything, making him look like a bot. I've sent warnings that he might get trouble with that... Why? If I didn't knew him, and was watching the behavior, I'd sure would report him as a bot.
  6. The Clickers Vs Binders wars ended with the rise of GCD.
  7. Please click the Leave Warzone when you see one there. It'll be better for everyone.
  8. Those are not for upgrading items. they are for crafting Synthweave only uses artifacts, fabrics and power crystals (not color ones) Other mats are for other crafts.
  9. My my, someone felt attacked. You sir, had the perfect fit for this hat. I did add something, a lot actually. I guess you were too nervous to read the all post as soon as you felt attacked. That's ok, I didn't type it for people that, like you, refuse to understand what is being said (specially due to not reading what they are raging about) and that rather be in denial of things that are so basic and easily fixed. You seem to want the game to stay as it is instead of improving. I love this game, and that's why I point out things that can easily be improved. You love it so much that you'll be bored of it due to lack of things others have pointed as necessary in the long run. Have fun
  10. Impressive how some people defend the game even on the things that can, and need improvement for the long run. Defending that the game don't need improvement on some things, like the one being mentioned in this thread, is destructive for the game. If you care about the game, complain and point out what is really useful to keep a player database active, and yes, environment is a big point on holding subscriptions. Some of the most successful mmorpgs made hold people with environment, more than with content. Note that content can be beaten quite fast by a lot of people. Environment creates a sensation of nostalgia that keeps people coming back. For those that say it cannot be fixed, that's utterly blind-sighted. All is need is some tweaks on light, add a few dynamic environment sounds, and spawn some npcs with looping waypoints (patrols), automated interaction with players and other npcs, and random speech. Really really easy. Nothing that's not in the game system already.
  11. You'll have a poor performance as healer if you go by rotations. Healing is a very dynamic role, specially on SWToR, and more for healers that use secondary ability resources (I think OP's name for that is Tactical Advantage?). Watch the rate the HP is dropping on the healing target, check for T.A., and learn cast time vs amount healed. And above all, keybind all those in a way natural for you. Static fights are easier, but when things go wrong, you can't relay on rotations.
  12. Easy: 0 Level up to 10 1 Go for class story 2 Do pvp until you get enough lvl for the next part of the class story Goto 1
  13. Give me candy or I'll hold my breath until I turn blue!!
  14. ROFL Can you please, point us an MMORPG that you think is not a WoW clone please? I'm terrible curious about that, since every time I see someone with your kind of argument, I really need to check what game they are talking about. People with that argument say it about Every game. Funny, not many say WoW is something else's clone. (And you know it is) Also, All driving games are clones of another Driving game. All RTS games are clones of another RTS. All <insert genre> are clones of another <insert genre>. It's called Genre Basics.
  15. No man, all arguments there were well pointed out, just like yours. Thing is, you are mostly talking about your opinions and what you would like to see in the game at launch. I've been playing an handful of mmorpgs at launch, and none of them had half of the cool things they have now, and most of them never went to the trouble to had half of the things you complain about. It's all good, to know what one wants. It's all nice and fluffy to rant about all those as it was supposed to be mandatory, but it's kinda creepy the megalomaniac way you refute every BW advance and every poster opinion about your own opinion.
  16. Why? What would be the difference? Care to explain how such thing would be bad?
  17. I'm sorry but your idea sounds great for an offline game. Creating more soloable content would further ruin the already shaky community in servers. group playing would be for Warzones and OPs only, and gesh, imagine OP groups made of people that never relied on another player. No coordination needed, egoistical objectives... Sounds great, but I don't think it's a great idea.
  18. SHOULD Negate does not mean it does, just that it should
  19. I don't think I get the OP. Are you saying it's unfair for a non-healing class to heal only a bit every 90 sec while a healing class can heal every 10? I thought the idea was that: Healers heal, others don't.
  20. Greens CAN NOT be enhanced. You don't get enhancement slots on greens, not that I know of. You can only modify items with enhancement slots. Enhancement stations for now are nothing but leftovers from Beta. I was hoping that removing mods would be cheaper when using those, but it's the same thing as CTRL right click the modifiable item.
  21. My experience (and I do it myself) is that when you reach a point where you can't find anyone for the Heroics, people will jump to the Space station and remain there. LFG for heroics wouldn't be enough tho. That LFG for Heroics would have to allow a "summon". People won't join LFG for a planet when in the station. It's too much of a hassle to get to the heroic area from the station. Sure, people will say something like "it doesn't take that long" but fact is this is an MMORPG and people want to play without minutes of running and loadings when they get invited to do something. I guess many would not log into lfg in the station just to have to run all the way back to the planet. That's how people are, and there's no point on being hypocrites and say "I'm not like that". Every one is like that at some point.
  22. People post comparisons to WoW because it both a very successful and widely known game. Who cares who copied what from who? Ever game is in a way a copy of others. It's called Genre Mechanics! At the end, it's not a comparison that is in effect here. It's "What was good on other games and it's not on this one" aka "How could this be improved, based on what we know it works?" Being excessively defensive about a game, rejecting any so called comparison is a great way to create stagnation of the product. Market studies are exactly that. What do people like on other games that can be implemented, improved or adapted on a product, to create a better user experience? The OP is quite well constructed and can be used by the dev. team to check what people would like to see. Would implementing something used successfully on other game on this game ruin it? No, it would probably make it better, more appealing to a lot of people.
  23. I don't get it. Every class has enough abilities to fill up almost 4 full actionbars, yet, nerfing two of those drives people away. To me it sounds that people need to figure out how to play a class instead of using the same actions over and over again. If it was like that at launch, the class would be as good as any, the problem seems to be that many has been spoiled by "I Win" buttons that are now being removed. Try playing ALL classes. Do that and you'll understand why some nerfs are implemented. Your other classes will thank for it.

    Leavers Penalty

/sign Completely agree with that. I know it's a pain not being able to chose what WZ to queue but leaving as soon as they get in or leaving when they get frustrated for being in the losing side is simple rude. A penalty should be applied.
