  1. Don't be naive. SW TOR is not fine. EA is fine, the game is a disaster waiting to be. If EA was basing their company success on this game, I wouldn't count them on the marked very long. Fortunately for them, they have dozens of lower budget and high success games out there (not counting distribution only contracts and such)
  2. lol at the 1.3 million I guess there's a lot of people with subs that simply doesn't play ~ 1.3 million subs ~ 200 (200+ actually, but let's have it this way) servers world wide if each sub had 1 char logged in, that would make each server have around 5000 people. I'm yet to be in a server with more than 500 people online, and you know that this is a rare thing to happen. Now, the best servers are mostly light going moderate at peak hours, with some Heavy pop exceptions (maybe a couple of servers in EU and US) I'm not sure why, but those 1.3 million subs don't really feel like they are all ingame.
  3. As far as I can see, Cutscenes use the exact same resources as normal game with exception for the textures. Create a system where you could control a hoovering camera that would capture ingame in a cutscene framing style. It would capture normal game textures (to allow the use of the tool without the need of a very fast computer) but would then, be rendered to disk in cutscene texture quality. Cutscenes in game seem to have static cameras, so if that's a requirement, adding the choice to use camera bind-points (liked to keybinds and UI buttons) would work for a smoother recording even without video edition. All recorded action would be recorded to disk allowing that way to be sent to a video editor where it could be added audio (voice and music) and text (subtitles). It would be great to have a swtor cutscene editor, but I guess that recording the cutscenes would be enough. External video editors would do the job to anyone creating a cutscene. This would gain most if it was added together with several other RP ingame tools, as chairs that would allow to sit, emotes like "lean on a balcon" and things like that.
  4. An weekly article answering some carefully selected questions (between hundreds of other ignored questions) is not really a good way to keep in touch with the player base. Get them in game, get them in the forums, get them to participate ACTIVELY in the discussions, in the player's worries. Admitting failures and working with players towards a way to make the game better (as in, make it take longer to burn on players or even avoid that at all) would be nice. Anyone that thinks that Weekly Q&A is a great way to communicate with the player base and that they are actually getting in touch with us, the players, is under a big, big illusion. I really hate when companies treat their costumers as sheeple, but I guess that the way things get done nowadays, right?
  5. Gotta love the "You need to have X" or the "You can't run this content without Y gear". A few days after I hit 50 with my tank (pre 1.2) I was equipped with my orange gear filled with lvl 50 purple mods (except for armoring that was lvl 51). I got invited by a guildy to run BP HM. We wiped 3 times on the big droid (due to the healer and dps standing on the electrical arc cross that the boss casts). After those tries, the dps left saying the tank was ill equipped and spammed the general chat looking for a tank that had actually gear. 2h after that, I main-tanked EV and we got 5/5.
  6. Most of the content on this game is really easy, and as long as everyone knows what's happening on a fight, it's ok. The problem comes when reaching some of the endgame content. There are parts of the group endgame content that require coordination to the point that, if anyone does a mistake, it's an almost certain wipe. If someone knows the fight by heart and can keep eye on several warning moments, then well, it might go alright. Ready checks still a pain but that's not the most annoying thing in the world. Now, if that someone is unable to keep track of several warnings ("Move to X"; "Attack Y Now"; "Z spawn" kinda of stuff) then it will be a high chance of failing the fight. If the fight is new, then really hard and time consuming to type "e v e r y t h i n g !", giving also the chance for those in the voice chat to just lose their concentration and all. At the end, there's no denial. Being in Voice Chat is way better than not. You don't even need to talk. You need to be there to listen to the leader and warnings.
  7. You mean the 7 day trial thing? Still got all mine. If you still need, send me a PM with the email address(es) Happy to help
  8. Intercede works great, you just need to time it. Never use intercede if you have your "leap" on cd. You have to be fast tho: select friendly, intercede, select mob, jump. That takes as long as your gcd lets you. The mob won't charge your team if you're fast enough. Sure, don't do it just before a cleave ability from the mob ofc. He will turn anyway. I'm afraid that if that happens and there's a wipe due to that, it's your team fault. DPS NEED TO KNOW HOW TO PLAY TOO. Got too much aggro? Your fault! Also, DPS need to remember that they have a detaunt, and they should learn how to use it. It's not an "Oh ****" ability. It's an ability that should be in the rotation.
  9. I guess I'm doing something wrong then. If jugg tanks are supposed to suck now, I failed at sucking. Jugg here and haven't find anything I can't tank as well or better than an assassin. Back to the "suck at tanking" guides I guess.
  10. Well, not all is bad then. No need for the impressively ugly jugg head gear then *grin* Question tho: If you put a Campaign armor on an old pvp set, will you get both the bonus from the pvp shell and the pve armor bonus?
  11. I don't see a lot of negative articles. I see one negative article, re-written several times in several different places. Fact is, they are pointing something that is actual. Not really a campaign. It might look as it because you're looking for those. Other games had way more negative "campaigns" and no matter what, they still on top of the most played / most subs.
  12. I thought I had read something about Gear set Bonus getting transferred with the Armoring mod, and that would allow us to change the visuals of the gear we wear. By reading the forum, I guess I'm not the only one that thinks that some gear in the game is just atrocious. I've managed to build some interesting looking set for myself, both for pvp and pve, but unfortunately, not all works as it should. Let me explain. On my PvP gear, I managed to get 5 pieces, so re-moded the chest piece, since the pvp helmet fits under hooded chest armor. It looks great, and it works ok, since having 5 pieces, one can just ignore the bonus of one of them (being 4 piece the max bonus). I was kinda sad to see that bonus didn't went with armoring, but it worked. I've then tried to do that on my pve gear. Well, that's where things go wrong. I could do the same thing, and get a similar look, but the helmet won't fit in a hood, so the only choice is to not show the head piece. I wanted to use my old champion pvp head gear, remoded with columi, but the bonus won't transfer. So, after all this talk, I'm asking: Didn't they announce Set Bonus being transferred with armor mod? Is it working in a way I'm not grasping? Is it a bug that some gear won't transfer bonus or is it working as intended? And I ask because, as I said before, gear is simply atrocious as it is. It just feels strange to be demanded to use such gear in a game with such a high level of freedom on how and what to wear.
  13. As a Sith Juggernaut (tank) I think only use Jaesa and Quinn. Quinn for soloing harder mob groups, as having a healer companion is always nice on those situations, and Jaesa when in a 2 man party and weaker mob groups, as it speeds up the killing a lot. Vette walked with me until I got Quinn. (low level) Pierce seems a nice ranged tank, but no need for that being a tank. Broonmark... well, with my old lvl 50 equipment, he dies against a group of 4 normal weak mobs, so no... he stays at the ship and if he wants to eat, he'll have to craft. No free passage for weaklin'monsters.
  14. Love the idea and it kinda reminds me of how RvR worked on Warhammer online (check RvR progression there if you don't know it). The difference is that on WaR you could actually see 100's of people around, aiming to those battles, while in this game, at least on any of the servers I played, if you'd get a 8vs8 battle it would be huge. Note that Ilum pvp was a single planet and it got "empty" pretty soon. There's no way for this game to manage massive open world pvp at the moment and that why I think the Ilum pvp objective got removed from the game. Anyway, the idea could actually work if the system would help, and if servers had enough population to push those things. Note that having 100 in the fleet and lets say, 140 lvl 50's online, don't mean you have them all for that objectives. That's not how this kind of math works. in 100, maybe 20 would be willing to do something like, before they lose interest in it. I think we need a smaller idea for now. The BIG ones can't simply be pushed due to technical limits, both game client and population.
  15. Oh right! Had completely forgot about that. Anyway, I'll check the competitor compare at close, just for fun.
  16. Yeah, I had the old bookmark. Corrected it faster than you could quote
  17. Things are not looking good for EA stock holders http://finance.yahoo.com/q?s=EA
  18. Well... as someone with low RL funds, this kind of things just make me happy. I was thinking in having two subs (another for a new upcoming game). I guess it's an obvious choice now.
  19. FUBAR is the right "word"
  20. so... bye bye guild money? Bye bye dozens of mats and gear in guild bank? Oh boy... someone needs a new job.
  21. The buff is automatic when you use your own buff (clear in the description) emotes? /typeemotehere (also clear on description)
  22. Rofl. Really? Every other class got buffed? Impressive how it's always "my" class that get's the nerf while all the others get buffed.
