  1. "Manbaby. Stacks. Each stack makes you 10% more likely to cry on the forums about how someone needs a nerf and how it isn't fair and how you should win all the time. Can only be dispelled by using the Grow Pair ability."
  2. I don't know which grade they teach probability in the US but I'm assuming it's around the same age as here in the UK. Which is younger than the minimum age required under the EULA of the game. And yet...
  3. Apparently the concept of sample sizes... I just flipped a coin 24 times and it came up heads only twice. I therefore can say with absolute certainty that the 50% chance thing is a complete myth and the chance of getting heads is only 8%. You see what I'm getting at now?
  4. The best part was when Tom Brady was looking to make that killer 25 yard pass at 3rd and 10 and then KNOCKBACK STUN KNOCKBACK CHOKE IN THE FIRE DEAD. Huttbowl ftw, folks.
  5. Operatives don't snipe from the top of anything, yo.
  6. Oh cool, another thread where people don't understand probability. How splendid. Just what this forum needed
  7. Or my personal favourite, when you actually do position yourself correctly but the server doesn't recognise it in time and you get flung off regardless
  8. This game rewards losses better than just about any I've played. Like someone said before, often people will leave and the replacements help turn it around because they don't simply quit the moment we get two-capped for half a second. In fact, some of the best games I've played have ultimately been losses, but it was a heck of a lot of fun. Maybe it helps that I know a lot of the regular PvPers on both the Republic and Imperial side on my server. We've even had a pub on our Teamspeak once. We also have an unofficial server forum offsite where people chat/smacktalk each other/whatever. I get it if you're in a hurry and you just wanna finish your daily and log off again or whatever but if you have no fun unless you're winning I'd probably question whether you're actually having fun at all at this point?
  9. I don't really get these two. On attack, straight out the middle is the quickest path to the 'zerker buff and you can then support whichever door needs it with the extra damage. On defense it makes sense to go out of the centre and stand on the platform to see which side the enemy is going to en masse before you commit yourself to either side. Likewise I'll sometimes hang back after the door opens if it means I can kill a healer or whatnot - remember, everyone you kill spawns the other side of the bridge, meaning it's easier to extend it. If I need to hang back an extra five seconds to whittle down that last bit of health they have then surely it's better to do so and have the enemy healer stuck the other side of the gorge unable to help them prevent you from capping the bridges? Apologies if these scenarios aren't what you meant - I agree with the majority of your post, obviously. Just these two confused me a little because they can be legitimate tactics in my eyes.
  10. I don't know for sure, OP, but I suspect it might be partly because people keep making threads saying the mirror classes are all unblanaced in favour of the Empire version yet very rarely give any specific examples. Granted one person in this thread did actually give a couple, which have been subsequently debated, but when most people just go "SORCS ARE BROKEN COMPARED TO MY SAGE" with no details is it any wonder it's taking them a while to get back to you? The trick with all of these things is to be as specific as possible. Preferably having had experience of both sides of the mirror (which I'm going to suggest very few people actually do).
  11. I wish I'd been in that meeting. "Yo, you reckon people will pay like a hundred quid more for our collector's edition?" "Lol probably not, what would they even get from it?" "I dunno, a making of DVD or some junk. Mass Effect 2's one had that though and that was like £50." "Virtual items - people love that crap. You see the sparkle pony in WoW? Like hotcakes, my friend, like gosh darn hotcakes." "Not sure the art team are gonna like that - I heard from Johnson that they've not even optimised the high res textures yet." "Just chuck in a vendor and promise them we'll add stuff later. That way when the art team is freed up we can provide it." "You think anyone is actually stupid enough to pay £100 extra on a vague promise of future items?" "Well, they would also get to be smug and put 'CE VIP' in their forum sigs." "Might as well try I guess. Meeting adjourned. Steve, make this happen." There's marketing execs literally still high-fiving each other right now because of this.
  12. Kind of, except the removal cost for an epic mod provides an artificial price cap. If it costs, say, 23k to remove an enhancement then any below that price on the GTN will sell and any above it will do so only rarely when people first get gear. Gems in WoW, for example, are single-use and, as such, are regularly required meaning that prices are entirely based on supply and demand. Here the supply is effectively a one-time purchase unless someone is willing to list at below that point. I guess consumables for non-Biochemists are the exception.
  13. Annihilation / Watchman has a talent that self-heals when your bleeds crit. I'm not saying he didn't use the Shockwater (because he must have to have gotten the 5k single heal) but it's entirely possible in a long game to get a 75k healing medal as that spec without it. If you don't believe me check out Stmp's Gluten-free Gaming stream on Twitch - he's in full BM gear so gets that medal regularly and he doesn't use the water. EDIT: Whoops, misread the objectives score as the healing one. Yeah fair play, that is a bit silly. 75k medal is fairly typical though and I've got it a few times myself when I've also got the 300k damage one (full champ bar one piece).
  14. But the issue affects all people who were on the winning team equally so it's probably not anything client-side like quest log, refreshing UI or any other thing. I know how excited you must have been to have made your own thread and everything but unfortunately it simply does not fix the issue or, at least, one way in which the issue can manifest. As someone above me said, Bioware need to know that it is still an issue that needs resolution. They don't need people telling everyone it's fine if you do [random client-side related thing] when it cannot be related to that due to the fact it affects whole groups at once.
  15. I think you're talking about Undying Rage - aka the "god mode bubble" - reduces your health by 50% to grant 99% reduction in damage. Undying Rage > Rakata Medpac > hope you kill everyone or a healer turns up before the effect wears off
  16. An incentive? How about not having a reuputation on your server for being a tremendous manbaby?

  18. On my server most people call their incs as "gen", "crash" or "mid". Seems to work pretty well.
  19. There's no point where it "reaches" diminishing returns - it's always under diminishing returns, it's just that at around 85% or so it gets to the point of being really steep, so it's more efficient to use another stat. But each 1 point of Surge is worth slightly less than the previous one. Having said that, Power is also awesome, so I wouldn't worry too much about trying to "cap" Surge in this way.
  20. It doesn't - for us it caps out at about 13% in full BM. Not that I'm full BM myself but I was watching Stmp's stream and he put on all 14 pieces and came to around that number
  21. True - I've no idea why Cent/Champ gear couldn't have been closer together in terms of item level but hey. Cent gear still beats the crap out of orange fresh 50 gear though. I still have my two orange weapons which are jammed full of 50 epic mods (22s, advanced lethals, etc) and the champ weapons will still net me something like 13 strength, 20 endurance and a whole bunch of expertise. Should be able to afford both this week though thankfully due to lolhoarding before the patch.
  22. OP, while your post was undoubtedly well-written I'd urge you to stick with it just a bit longer. The changes made in today's patch will mean it's now far easier to get at least some modicum of gear since there are now so many Centurion tokens. I hit 50 just after the 50s-only bracket came in so believe me I feel your pain but I honestly think today's change was specifically aimed at people in your kind of situation. After just 3 or 4 pieces you do start to feel more competitive again, trust me. And it's a lot of fun once you're back on a slightly more even playing field
  23. I heard that the Republic mailboxes are 5 yards further away from the PvP bounty board than the Empire ones though which just FURTHER shows Bioware's OBVIOUS BIAS and HATRED OF THE REPUBLIC and is only adding to FACTION IMBALANCE. Until they nerf Empire mailbox distances, I can never approve of this change.
