Arena is not PvP, has nothing to do with real combat or real game mechanics and is basically a glorified metagame in its own limited rule set and world People wishing for arena are all WoW players (which, admit - looks bad at your resume, and mixing it with playing Arena even worse. You guys dont understand that if you start any topic with " i played WoW and got XXX rank" you loose all credibility. At most people would laught at you, even WoW player themselves dont take you seriously)). They want it in other games NOT because they want another form of PvP - but because they want metagame from WoW in same exact form to be present in SWTOR - and that combined with rewards and ranking system (otherwise you can just go out and 3vs3 all you like, my guild is running tournaments like that in BucsDen already)). Its amusing to always read the claims that people opposing arena have no skill - possibly, considering most people never even tried it or cared about it, which makes you just as skilled as say... proffessional Toe Wrestlers, their sport requires a lot of skill and dedication too, and everyone who is not good at it or doesnt care about it is obviously a noob. If you want PvP - do world PvP. I know you will tell it sucks, but i shoot your argument back at you and tell that you suck and cant stand the heat and just want controlled enviroment where all you need to do is learn the rotation and synergy and circle around pillar. If you want Arena so much - you are welcome to go back to WoW. As i heard it still does have it. Otherwise - dont come to different monastry with your own rules.
  2. Arenas are not PvP. They will not be implemented in SWTOR for same reasaon Golf minigame will not.
  3. Guard, taunt and healer hiding somewhere make everyone unkillable. Also lol at "tanks" thinking that shielding and absorb and energy/kineetic mitigation are useless in pvp. Just lol.
  4. I am getting tired of this old "omg sorcs are unkillable" Troll. Try something new? Like tell that Juggernauts force choke you to death from 30m away or something. Be creative.
  5. 7 - pretty good. Better than most other games PvP on release. Very good potential for new content and improvement.
  6. Umh... sniper/OP flashbang is one of the best CC in game, read instant mass sorc Whirlwind. Wanting to basically "nerf" it, am i reading it right?
  7. Sorry to break it down to you , but - AoE sucks. Most of them, with few long cooldown exceptions (Death from Above) sucks damage wise, and are ineffective in combat where you can contribute more by taking down single target much quicker. They only become effective when stucked - i.e. multiple sorcs Force Storms, BH bh blasts, Melee AoE attacks at same area: then they are effective. But than again, if you let this happen you deserve to die. About people saying AoE are effective in Illum - yes, they sure as hell are: its in a nature of mass PvP. Consider t hat 1on1 open world pvp, PvE, Warzone pvp and open world mass pvp are whole different things requiring different tactics, talent builds and team actions. So why should AoE be penalized?
  8. Change FvF to GvG. Same issues will arise on most servers, but at least underdog guilds will be able to team up and zerg the bigger ones. Thats until most guilds just form alliance to benefit the most and cease all fighting.
  9. Just so you get a clue. Lightning sorc is dependand on spamming Lightning Strike - ability doing mitigated energy damage, with 1.5 second cast time. Doing mostly laughable 500-800 damage on most targets (as low as 300 on armored sometimes). With forced Lightning having a chance for additional 30% damage. (a reason why you rarely ever see Lightning sorcs, but only Madness counterparts). Most melee are dependant on spamming their low level attacks for procs as well, and guess for how much they hit too. And you complain about your spammable ability doing "just" 1-1.5k damage non crit?
  10. I assume its another case of mixing Sorcs/Assassins and Sages/Shadows. Assassins/Shadows SHOCK/Project is much stronger than Sorcs/Sages (25% basic damage class buff, + hell lot of talents that make it even stronger). So yeah - huge crits with its are possible. Just not on Sage/Sorc.
  11. Actually as it stands now - good lvl 10 character with bolster > bad lvl 49 with crap gear. As you level up you notice you become weaker and weaker - only benefit is having more talents. Getting top gear for lvl10-20-30 is easy. Getting same said gear (so that your stats would be like that of a bolstered lower level char) is way harder and resources consuming.
  12. Another point being you talk about "critical damage" downplaying Acid Blades and the relevance of kb/stun - ignoring the fact that Acid Blade does internal damage. All your other attacks do kinetic/energy damage, and acid blades on top of superb damage gives all your attacks basically around 30% damage buff (more if criticals are considered). For 15 seconds. Spammable ability. Which basically means - forever. Yet you pretend the problem is not that you can KB/stun targets and kill or DPS them withing a stun (and somehow everyone overlook that 3sec KB cannot be "escaped" and right after target gets up you can root as it bypasses resolve it so "escaping" is problematic? Not to mention group PvP setting where you get KBed by operative, cant get up for 3 secs and got pounded by everyone.) Get over it. You got nerfed, and if anything - we dont know if enought or not. The class with the changes applied still stays one of the strongest, and the only thing REALLY relevant that changed is that you cant solely rely on KB burst anymore, and has to use one more attack to kill enemy..

  14. Welcome to how every other class plays. Your exclusive VIP rights for killing peoplep before they can react are over - now you have to actually learn to pvp. On a topic - acid blade was nerfed EXACTLY BECAUSE you arent supposed to kill heavy armored targets withing seconds, in no circumstances. Stealth kill sorcerers, dps sins, other operatives, snipers whatever from ambush and escape - fine. Going head to head wtih juggernaut and killing him in short time - nope, thats not your role. You still get a superb damage - dont make it sound like if you get nerfed into the ground. Its just that now heavy armor works for you as intended - as heavy armor and not another looking version of cloth, and you dont get to safely dps people over 4.5 second (cut the 1.5 sec ********, i dont think even you believe it) than vanish and repeat.
  15. So that would be less nerf threads about overpowered assassin survivable like Juggernauts, with OPs damage and Sorcs casts. People would think its a marauder and ignore him.
  16. You are welcome. Those changes are suggested by a person that singlehandedly achieved a great task of convincing Guild Wars developers to stop filtering the world "damn" in the game (using "darn" was just not the same), and thus greatly improving the gameplay for millions of players.
  17. Hello, i would like expirienced assassins to look into the posted build and tell what they think is stupidly wrong with it (and i assume most people would find something). Playing in team play i found that one barely need an ability to kill a target CCing 1on1 wasting all cooldowns, but rather need a consistent damage and survivibility (living long enought to be healed, and doing nice enought damage after initial burst). So trying out top talents in all trees, i found it they arent really worth it. They are all nice gimmics, but one can live without them really - as to take them you have to sacrafice something important. The build is predominately played with Dark Charge, and relies on prolonged dps thanks to faster mana regen, blackout, shock cost reduction and buff of damage of basic abilities like Trash and Maul. The only difficult question was weather was the Death Field worth taking, but considering the build is for specific role in team and the 25 mana for aoe would be more effectively used for singletarget shock or maul, i decided against it. http://db.darthhater.com/skill_calc/sith_inquisitor/assassin/#::ef4efef6e3f6e3f3dfe3f4ef2e2f3e2f4e2fef2 Your impressions? After playing with the build i found that actually, most top level talent gimmics are mostly unnessesary (fun, but not essential or class defining).

  19. I just hate to disappoint all players that wanted to play rogue - but rolling pure deception spec, always with surging charge and thinking you are WoW rogue or OP alternative is plain wrong. Assassin is great class - a superb tank that also gets the "rogue" damage. If you go purely Deception you essentially gimp yourself. At least learn that you can switch stances right in combat and turn between tank/rogue as you wish, if being a tank is not your style.

  21. Umh.. i dont know what you kids are complaining about. I am leveling alts purely through Warzones and i honstly dont know what to do with all the commendations. Having multiple alts, i already had full sets for them in before since items dropped from the boxes are not BoP and i just sent them to appropriate char. Weapons are dirt cheap. Commendations are capped with 1000 (after you cap the merc coms) and there seriously anything worth buying with them. 560 for the weapon is like 4-5 matches won (depending on how many medals and MVP votes you get). Its absolutely nothing.
  22. I agree. Compared to most other MMOs that had PvP gear progression, SWTOR is by far the easiest to get the gear.
  23. Sorcerer: -Removed lightning animation from Force Lightning. -Changed text that displays when hitting sorc shield from "Absorbed" to number of damage done to shield. Troopers/Bounty Hunters: -Removed "VROOM!" sound from Tracer Missiles. Replaced it with weak "phew". Gunslingers: -Removed Cowboy Hats Snipers: -Removed targeting icon from enemy head and placed it at the lower back of the target. Juggernauts: -Increased armor shoulder pads size. Shadow/Assassin: -When in tank stance assasin disassembles his double bladed lightsaber and wears it as two separate light sabers. Operatives: -Replaces vibroknife with Chainsow -Equipped Chainsow now produces loud sound that can be heard by anyone as stealthed OP approaches them I assure you, make this changes and everyone will be happy.
  24. Wait... so you fail to kill Sorc while having 50% mitigation to his energy attacks, 20% to internal and doing superb damage? You can slow him down making his slow ineffective. You can break his stun/root TWICE in combat thanks to Unbreakable Will and that force speed removes root/snare. You can stun and knockback him same way he does to you. You got 5 second buble against force attacks. And you still loose? I am speechless... are did you roll the pure Deception spec and though you will be owning people left and right like Operatives? Or Madness wich is inferior caster vs REAL caster that is sorc?
