  1. EZ mode compared to actually "fighting" other players. You know... using your abilities at right time, interrupts, staying on target or using LoS, going in the crowd of people in huge risk to CC one, Guard another and kill third since thats the only way you can steal a win. As opposed to - sneak in stealth, kill the target, vanish.
  2. I love how peopel generally put Gunslinger/Sniper at the bottom, since he doesnt have a shiny purple lightning animation and people usually dont realize its him that killed them while they were fighting someone else, attributing it to "insane crits" or whatever class they were fighting. Snipers? Weak? Right...
  3. Umg, medals for Guarding are there for a reason and they are absolutely justified. That non guard classes or healers dont get them is not the issue. It annoys me how often in warzones i see tanks that dont taunt and guard AT ALL. Rewarding the ones that do is only proper.
  4. Also.. people voting for top objective score.. ***? In most cases its reward for AFKers at Alderan that did not contribute anything, or someone running in ball vicinity at Hutball - in both cases the scoring is incredebly stupid. Rather vote for someone you seen carry and score the ball (you dont even get objective points or medal for it...) than someone afking at stealth near objective.
  5. If i encounter a really really bad pug team with no one doing anything right, i usually vote the lowest. At least he tried.
  6. Guess what, i am usually the player that leads the match, get highest (well, not always) kills/dps, get higher guarding as well - and obviously highest amount of medals. You cant "farm" them - you get them if you actually do your job right. Also, from what i noticed people dont vote considering who got most medals, but who they seen in game - if they see its ME rushing to help them and guarding, CCing enemys, being there in critical moment - they vote me. If theres someone else who was seen more - they vote him. Generally if i dont pay attention to players, i vote healers or flag carriers. If i notice someone doing really good job - i vote him. Your post sounds like QQ since no one votes for you. Well too bad - either you did not excel in the task you should have done, or did something wrong. Even people with lowest damage/kills/medals if they for example scored the ball get voted. On other hand - if you dont get medals it means you are bad in your job: if you have highest guard but low damage/kills : you suck. If you have high heals but no DPS at all - you suck (unless its really high number meaning you simply did not have a chance to utilize your abilities).
  7. Umh... i am playing 13/14/13 with Dark Charge on occasionaly switchign to surging charge and i am often top DPS in WZ (unless some BH or SORC aoe for 400k), and get around 9-11 medals each match. Seriously don't know what OP complains about. Class is awesome.
  8. Actually, the interview was quite sensible. He explained why OP was nerfed and why it was considered that its damage is too much. Bad news is he basically confirmed crosserver PvP - might make a people on low pop servers happy, but basically kills the point of PvP for me so i will go to other game at this point. And yes, faction imbalance he cant directly address - guess what a surprise, different people have different jobs and its not his call.
  9. Sorry to but in the discussion but enlighten me... there are pure DPS classes in SWTOR? Thats news to me. Last time i checked there is no single class that is dedicated purely to making dps and have no utility or options to do something else. Juggernaut - Tank, Burst or DPS Maradeur - Tank, Burst or DPS Merc- Healer, Aoe or DPS Powertech - Tank, Ranged or Melee Dps Assassin - Tank, DPS or Caster Sorcerer - Healer, Damage or DPS Operative - Healer, Melee Burst, Ranged DPS Sniper - Support, AOE Dps, Ranged Burst So where is the class thats "true dps" and that should be "above all other dps"? You can only become "dps class" by taking concicious decision to spec this way in a class of your choice. Now another question is - armor/damage. And there heavyer armor does not automatically means less damage. Its balanced differently - by mechanics of HOW you can deliver that damge, WHEN, and HOW LONG. Which means three groups: 1 - build up damage: Force Warriors. Cannot use their strongest attack from start, have to build up rage. They have heavy armor, can do great damage, but are disadvantage compared to lighter armor classes, since they cant unleash the damage immidiately, and usually cant perform multiple powerful attacks in a row because of rage limit/insufficiency. 2 - Unleash DPS Classes that have "ammo/heat" - they can effectively unleash all their strongest attack right from begining of the fight, have often advantage of range and being able to pick a target (stealth). However their superior damage is limited by fact their ammo is limited and strong attacks conditional/on cooldowns. Thus making first burst, they are nearly ineffective until replenish the ammo/heat or get right conditions (tactical advantage, stealth). Here are differences too, on how fast classes waste their ammo - for instance BH can waste all his heat in few seconds, while Sniper can maintain it for way longer but eventually runs out of energy too. 3 - Sustained DPS aka Mana user classes. Sorcerer and Assassin. They can maintain their damage for longer period of time, and their damage is similar in begining of the fight as in the end (unlike others. 1st - become stronger as fight last, 2nd - weaker as they waste their ammo). Thus their damage is generally lower, but their sustained DPS is best, since they can maintain their damage at same rate. So before complaining about damage and classes, you should first learn to understand how it works. Each class has a role , a specifics and advantages in team.
  10. Its called becoming adult. Happens in real life as well.
  11. The best i seen wwas I just got jumped by Empire class and blew all my cd on this ****** yet he stuns me and globals me. Nerf Empire, he is OP!
  12. Its too bad Bioware already confirmed they have the metrics and will take action to people exploiting Valor. But whatever, you probably dont care about being banned or rolled back as you`ll quit the game within a month anyway.
  13. You did not play in lower bracket before nerfs were announced, did you?
  14. This. Bioware already stated that they have metrics to determine what people exploited valor and will punish them, we however yet to see any real action taken. Fulfill your promised BW! Its wonder what banning few dozens of exploiters can do for overall amount of people thinking its ok for them to do also.
  15. Bans. Simply as that. Its not the first time it happens in pvp mmos (though its Shameful that Bioware did not see that coming despite having plenty of bad examples). If you tolerate the exploiting now, you tolerate the cheating and exploiting as whole - and you can tell bye bye to people trusting you: instead, seeing no action taken they will join in themselves.
  16. Yeah.. and in addition to that they also restealth when about to die and reappear behind you to stab you to death with those double bladed lightsabers...
  17. Where the hell does this stupid idea come from? Most sorc attacks are not elemental, they are ENERGY. Same as blasters. Thus mitigated. The only non mitigated attacks are INTERNAL - aka Affiction dot, Death Field, Creeping Darkness, Thundering Blast. All main damage sources are ENERGY (Force Lightning anyone?). If you want elemental damage, go look at Pyrotech.
  18. You never get tired of displaying your ignorance and declaring yourself as a fool to public? Sorc FL, by no conditions - no crits, no surge, no buff stacking would be that strong, regardless on what class applied. If you see your HP drop while you are being FLed - you likely have Affiction, Crushing Darkness, and deathfield debuff on you. And still the FL damage would not be great - its just commulative of them is awesome. Assassin on other hand, can buff FL to be auto crit, uninteraptable and with 175% of original damage. Yeah, they got lightnings too, you know? If you PvP so much to be able to post about it on forums, might stop mistaking classes and build by now?
  19. There are 8 players in warzone teams. Enought to have 1 sorc in YOUR team to put buble on YOU? Lets remove healing alltogether since you fought against a team with decent healer and lost, because yours had none.
  20. Nice post thats completely devoid of any meaning, and showing you have no clue about teh class.
  21. It does. It takes away focus from World PvP and GvG - which is the main point of pvp for me and replaces it with a own ruleset metagame. Nothing against warzones, but people shouldnt claim to be "pvpers" if thats all they do, let alone benefit from it over the onces doing the real combat.
  22. I am strictly against ranked WZs and it saddnes me that Bioware decided to introduce them. Open world PvP should be the main point of the pvp in the game and they should have focused on it. That said, seeing as BW bended over to WoW kiddies cryes and promised ranked WZs (likely implemented in raw and exploitable state just for sake of it) - at least let there be no cross server pvp.
  23. I suggest you do the same thing i did - roll a Sorc in addition to your Sniper and see for yourself how a "mythical beast" performs.
  24. It seems that most people on forums, did not play other classes, dont know their mechanics and often did not even look into other classes ability list/talent trees. I understand that for most players its normal to just focus on one character and class and min/max it, but i for example wanted to try out different classes, "feel" them, learn the mechanics and find out whats the most fun to play for me. Thus leveled two characters high with warzones mainly, and 3 others mid level doing only warzones as well. Started out with Sorcerer - which was for long time my main, was a really fun class, with lots of utility, making great score in every warzone with barely any deathes... but playing it i realized at any rate its a "support" class. Nuking people from 30 m away, AoEing and dotting, always running from fight to reposition and nuke or heal again - the results were great, but it was not a class that really carries the direction of fight - he can score, he can kill or help kill, but he is and ultimattely will stay a support class. You barely even get a kills all by yourself (seeing 40 kills each warzone and wondering where they came from, sure didnt felt like it...) The next class i tried was Powertech (pyrotech) - and thats where i realized how weak my sorc actually was. PT was by far the easiest class to play, was litterally melting faces of everyone, and that while staying always mobile and in the middle of the fight - something my sorc could only dream of. The damage and survivibility were great, the only real issue was heat, but it did not prevent a class from getting astounishing damage/kills numbers and making me feel like i just melt everyone in my way. The class is really fun, BUT - it seems too simplistic. I was doing the same thing over and over and over - and while it was effective, it kinda lacked any utility but damage. Still, if i ever got sick of my other classes this is a choice i will fall back just because of "melting faces" factor. The next was Sniper - rolling him i read on forums about terrible cover mechanics, squishiness, los e.t.c - lots of whines. When i actually played it... i got to say that Snipers have one of the worst community here, because the class really rocks. The cover mechanic works great, i have no problems using it in combat, and sometimes even just hop in and out of cover just to get the buffs entering/exiting cover gives you. The survivability - i dont know what people complain about, to me it felt like playing a tank. Good armor, good defensive buffs, not being able to be CCed, damage reduction in cover - sniper is a class that is not easy to kill. Especially considering he does pretty good in mid range combat - just debilating and stunning people. Have good means to get away as well. The damage was ok, and unlike sorc, shooting from a range i actually felt like it was me killing people and not just contributing to total damage score. The LOS isa ***** though, but right positioning (and opposite - not sitting on one place as a duck but moving with combat) negates it. Especially effective a sniper is as nuker in combo with other class - melee that occupies the target or healer that protects him. I found running in pairs as sniper the most. However, while effective, i found the class pretty boring for my taste. Juggernaut - i just had to play "real" tank, but so far - its the only class that i really did not like, just because its playstile does not suit me. Survivibility is here, damage is ok, utility for the team is GREAT, but i seriously did not felt like playing him. Its the class that leads the combat, but depends on others to utilize the advantages he brings them. Assassin - and than there was Assassin. From the first moments playing this class i loved it - great damage, great survivibility, stealth and ability to be tank/rogue/mage at any moment by choice. The class extremely versatile and thats what i love about it the most. I never feel like forced into single role and can be usefull in most situations - be it tanking the ball or sprinting through the fire, guarding the team mates, delivery great damage and killing people from befind or doing aoe damage in crowd, nuking people with spells, having nice CC. The class excels really in nothing, and yet is excellent. Playing different classes made fighting against them in pvp much more easy, as you understand their mechanics, rotations and tactics. I understood that most classes that can do well regardless who they face, depending on player skill. I understood that most people crying about "underpowered" classes need l2p - as most classes can perform outstanding. (on other hand i understood that "nerfs" is a nessessary evil and we will see a lot of them in the future- as almost every class can do something so outstanding its out of line with normal game mechanics). What classes did you play, and whats your impressions of them?
  25. I played and pvped 5 classes, Sorcerers being my first but in the end switching to Assassin just because its more fun to play. And i got to say, the most "nerf sorcs" threads look as poor troll threads to me or topics made by people that dont understand anything about the class at all. Notice when complaining about other classes - theres always a valid complaint about specific ability and mechanic - nerf grav round, hidden strike and acid blade e.t.c. What are complaints about sorcs? Apparently "they have too much utility". People cant pinpoint any single ability that is "overpowered" and what changes should be made. People cant claim "sorcs are OP since they kill me in seconds". so their complaint is -... "sorcs are OP since they get away from me and not let me kill them easily". To that, half the people seriously seems to think Sorc have 60 talent points and is same class as Assassin. Sigh.. i cant even tell people to l2p so they woudnt be killed by sorcs, since if they ARE killed by sorcs 1on1 theres nothing i could tell them but unsubscribe and try something like tetris instead.
