  1. Did a 6 year old just poop his pants? Your post reads like a toddler defending their best friend from a big bully. The only difference is the executives of EA have millions of our dollars and they're supposed to work for their customers. Since when did nameless corps need protection from consumers?
  2. The game only uses 4 gigs of ram max. it's the game, we've already gone over this too many times. Once you get past lvl 35 or so the loading times get worse and worse. Never que a WF from Alderaan.
  3. After beta is over. Probably 6 more months is my guess.
  4. Touche fine sir, touche. I lol'd cause it's true.
  5. Thank you for informing us that you couldnt handle reading a few paragraphs. You just wasted my time and now i'm wasting yours posting absolutely nothing.
  6. Or they're upset that a game they've been following for 2 years was released too early and they're afraid fixes won't come out as fast as the game bleeds subs.
  7. i played WAR for 1.5 years from launch. Yes, it has many of the same issue in particular the end game pvp being broken. Though WAR's UI was really good from day 1. i still think the ability lag in SWTOR's is worse than WAR. Both games AH's are bad at launch. War still had more simple features at launch such as chat bubbles. Swtor is newer so it's got that going for it.
  8. BIODRONES! Unite to form Mega super awesome Biodrone. Atttack! Attack! Attack! Watch out OP, you just chummed the waters and the fanbois are hungry.
  9. DUDE! You have to hoof it to the npc to respec for the AWESOME CUT SCENE BRO! the decision to not have respeccing at the trainer is yet another one of the horrible design decisions the leadership made for this game.
  10. QFT, this guy is a winner. The end game worlds are not optimized. Everything is fine till you start to get past 30+. Some of the planets even seem to have particular memory leaks attached.
  11. /standslowly /wipetearfromeye /slowclap /applause /smileattheop /slapdevwhomadethesehorribledecisions.
  12. Depends on which loading screen. The end game worlds yyyyyyyyyyyeeeeeeeessssss. The imperial fleet load time is fine. Everything after Tatooine though goes to pot.
  13. This^ GW2 will probably be better than SWTOR but i'm still going to play SWTOR till GW2 comes out. We still have 8 months or so till GW2 hit's. It just started closed beta a couple weeks ago.
  14. I only play 1 toon in any mmo so that I always have good gear. If i play alts my time is diluted and my toon won't out gear you. also I get very attached to my online persona of my character. My guild knows me as ....... the server knows me as ....... so i want to play the toon called......... I tend to dominate in pvp and i like my enemies to know who just killed them.
  15. GW2 will be out in 8 months more than likely. End of summer I would bet. The devs at Arenanet are addressing this issue in GW2. Your toon has 10 abilities 5 of which are tied to weapons that you can switch in combat making the grand total 15 abilities. (the Elementalist will have 25 since they can switch to 4 attunments in combat After getting into League of Legends this year really deep pvp can come about with as little as 6 spells. I agree that these mmo's just try to fill up leveling space with new abilities.
  16. I already have a keyboard and mouse that makes macro's. Problem solved. Newegg, Bestbuy, Fry's, Tiger Direct are >>>>> that way. I don't see why people care since for 150$ I can buy a keyboard and mouse that have every possible gaming feature I could ever want and they should last for years. Any good mmo player already has peripherals that can easily do macro's . Get over it.
  17. Sorry man but i have enough real life experience to know how this works. If casuals log into a empty game they aren't ever going to sub. If guilds don't have long term players they're no longer guilds. Guilds are the glue of a mmo. Without guilds who are ran by long term hardcore players you have no mmo. Casuals do pay the bills you're right..............but they need the longterm players to give them a foundation of community. We've all been in guilds with empty vents. They tend to die soon afterwards. Also, how can your study quantify anything besides questionaires? The metrics of a mmo can't show you human relationships and dependency's.
  18. I played WAR for 1.5 year's from launch. I watched the game consolidate servers and shrink and now WAR currently is on 1 server. I was lucky and always chose the most popular server correctly. The game always felt full to me because I was usually on the full server. Though there was a time on Dark Crag after Ruin and several other large guilds left where me and Destro met to duel because there was literally nothing else to do but sit in vent with your enemies and duel each other. SWTOR will not fail. It is going to shrink drastically though within 2-3 month mark. It's simply not a finished game and most hardcore players will gear out by the 2 month mark and quit. The biggest issue imo is the character responsiveness in SWTOR. Ability lag is a killer to your hardcore gamer market. If all your game has is casual players who love leveling through cut scenes then you dont have much of a game. Hardcore players are the people who pay the bills in the long run. Casual players come and go but you need that base of long term players to keep guilds together and give casual players something to work towards. How many guilds have you been in that had that one guy who was always on and after he quits the guild sort of falls apart? Thats the hardcore player leaving, him and probably 2 other players were the glue that held your guild together. Now they're gone. Guild dies, mmo shrinks. I only say this because I've seen it happen in every game since WOW. It sucks to because we all want a new game to play that is truly quality. I think SWTOR could have been that if they had held the launch till the end of summer. I guess some executives got paid and peaced out. Corp's don't care about the long term. Look at the banking industry. As long as your corp doesnt go under while you're in charge it's K. The idea is to get as much money as you can then quit and run another Corp.
  19. Back in my day we had to sit through 20 load screens and walk through huge empty hallways to respec. Kid's now day's trying to have fun with a game they paid for. Geez.
  20. How does chaning specs make a game easier? Do the mobs suddenly lose health? Do the mobs suddenly stop hitting when you change specs? Do all gold mobs turn silver? Does the game press my buttons for me? Changing specs has nothing to do with the difficulty of the game. Personally I think they should get rid of hotkey's because they make the game to easy. For me unless I'm stretching to hit the 0 key I'm not really playing. I think all skill should have to be tied to 1-0 and you can only use a ALT modifier. Now that would be a challenge. /sarcasmoff
  21. Do I really need to dig up the recent dev quote saying macro's and addon's are coming.......... Really?
  22. I already use macro's with my mouse. Oh and to your question as to why this game needs macro's over BF3. BF3 has a very small amount of abilities that you use on the fly. You shoot, crouch, lie down, and sprint 90% of the time. My shadow has at least 20 abilities that I need instant access to. If you don't agree then you're probably a new mmo player who keyboard turns and doesn't know what a Shift modifier is. Any non noob already has a keyboard and mouse that can make macro's. I only use 2 macro's though for some basic AOE attacks since they essentially do the exact same thing but on different CD's Truth is most macro's are not ideal for pvp combat. That being said If I can clear up 1 or 2 button slots on my hotbar's I will do it especially considering this game has such a abyssal UI to begin with.
  23. I would like the game if they had finished developing it. There are so many broken game systems the dev's deserve to hear about it. I had to buy a second copy of this broken game on the 20th because of horrible customer service. SO, so far I've spent 120$ on this game and I will hit level 49 after work tonight. I'm going to complain for the next 2 months or until they fix some of these broken game systems. do I like the game, yes. Does the game frustrate me constantly with bugs and quality of life issues? yes.
  24. This^ I'm going to sub for 3 months just out of curiosity to see how much BW/EA can accomplish. I have a feeling though BW/EA are so compartmentalized that they won't get much done. Some executive of game design has put his foot down and no underling is going to tell him different.....even while the game bleeds subs. It's obvious to me that BW has really bad leadership at this point in BW history.
