  1. How is it you're getting hi rez textures when they're not supported by this game? Is there something I'm missing here because the dev's have said on several forums that Hi rez textures are problematic for them. Did they add them in or something?
  2. I run smooth in every part of this game except for fleet during peak times and I get ability lag constantly. Lately my abilities won't fire off at all sometimes. I swear it got worse 2 weeks ago after a maintenance.
  3. they would have fixed it already if they could have. It's obvious this is another case of Whitelion pet syndrome. The pet's in WAR have never and will never work well. The only thing the devs have ever said is that they're aware and are working on the problem.............years ago. What they won't tell you is that the pet pathing in WAR is fundamentally flawed because of a particular dev tool they used. This ability lag is the same type of issue. If they could fix it they would.
  4. I have 3.9ghz Quad, 6 gig's of ram, 5870 1g.............the ability lag has nothing to do with your computer. The ability lag is built into the game itself.
  5. I found a really good post from the hero engine website this morning explaining ability lag and how poor coding and design can lead to the problem. It was somewhere on Hero's on forums. The game is poorly coded and personally I can't take the ability lag any longer. I was playing League of Legends last night and was appreciating the fact that when I click a ability they will fire nearly instantly and always. too bad Swtor's can't do this.
  6. The best engine that's never made a successful mmo. Is this like the best piece of cake ever? (that you never ate) BMW's are the best car's ever. (though I've never driven one)
  7. Damnnn! You got a little junk in that trunk! I would balance my beer on that and go to town. I could use that as a bumper on my car.
  8. I don't believe you. I've opened 23 champ bags now and gotten 14 Champ pieces 2 of which were duplicates. My pet is almost geared out. So basically you have over a 50% chance to get something. Angry yet?
  9. Just tell your friends you were going to heal for to wait 4 more days till the price drops or you can have everyone kick in 12k or so to pay for it then another 15k each to pay for you to switch back. Personally I would just sit in vent with them for the next 4 days until you respec cost resets. Or BW could just allow people to play the game and have fun but we all know the answer to that.
  10. just because you see 4 cores running does not mean SWTOR's is using 4 cores. I can run a browser game and all 4 cores light up. A single threaded piece of software is not designed to take advantage of multi core procs. SWTORS uses 2 .exe's to trick itself into using a dual core proc.
  11. This is only half true. The game uses 2 .exe's to trick itself into using 2 threads. A single threaded game will still use a multicore processor but not nearly as well as a multi threaded piece of software. A multi threaded game can send one thread to each core of a cpu while this game does a sort of trick to mimic that using the 2 .exe's
  12. Rift was released polished with every basic mmo feature you'd expect. (combat log, chat bubbles, Choose the WF you want...etc)
  13. FUNNIEST POST EVER ON THE SWTOR FORUM! BEST TROOOLLLOLLLL EVAR! This would be the funnest troll if he wasnt pointing out the horrible ability lag that seems to be inherent in this game. So funny, as if any pro gamer would ever considering playing a game where your button presses don't do anything. Give League of Legends pro's SWTOR and they would rage quit and LOL at anyone who thinks pvp can happen with .5-1 second delay's. Until they fix the ACTUAL COMBAT talking about e-sports is just trolling. Good job OP! BTW, are you trolling the player's or the dev's?
  14. I usually play mmo's about 12 hours a day for the first few months until I'm geared out then I play about 3-4 hours a day after 3 months. In SWTORS though I lost almost all motivation after hitting 50. I'm not going to go into why. That is to long to read and I don't have the energy right now to re-hash all those points with trolls. I un-subbed last week. Bums me out to. I really wanted to like this game but the ability lag is the straw that breaks the camels back. Not even being able to fire off my abilities in pvp simply breaks the game for me personally. I've been playing a little bit of League of Legends lately and as I play I think about the ability lag in SWTOR and it kills me a little bit on the inside. A real shame imo. I would stay hopeful that they would fix it but after playing pretty much ever mmo since WOW's launch I know they won't be able to fix the problem. If the ability lag was fixable they would have already done it. It especially sucks monetarily because on the 20th I had to buy a second copy of the game to log on. 120$ down the drain. On the light side I can un-install Origin now which feels great to do.
  15. if the patch said they had fixed teh ability delay yes I would have resubbed on that single patch note.
  16. I know you're right man. Not everyone is a noob to mmo tactics. This is as classic a move for a mmo publisher as shutting down your forums during patches. It's typical of a large corp that is fearful.
  17. OMG, I can't wait for 2 weeks from now to troll these types of posters. It's going to be so much fun. The game is close to completely broken now. Abilities don't even fire off.
  18. They can't fix it. I'll bet 25$ via paypal that in 6 months the problem is still there mostly. They may be able to tone it down but don't expect it to go away entirely. IF they could have gotten rid of such a fundamental flaw they would have done so already. They're just going to keep shut up about it and hope they can string as many of you along as possible for as long as possible. I played WARhammer for 1.5 years. I know how this goes (though at least WAR's abilities actually fire off.)
  19. Did I discover one of the FPS problems? I've been noticing that after hours of play my Audiodg.exe file is bloated and gets worse the longer the play session goes. I've been doing some research and here's one thing I found. "The audiodg.exe file made its appearance in Microsoft Vista, which explains why I haven’t seen this file before. When I viewed the properties of the file, the description stated Windows Audio Device Graph Isolation, which doesn’t help explain what it does. After doing a little research I found out that the audiodg.exe file hosts the audio engine for Vista, and from what I hear Windows 7 as well. All the DSP and audio processing is performed within this file. Vendors are able to install their own DSP and audio effects into the audio pipeline, which will then be processed by audiodg.exe. Unfortunately, this can also lead to some problems, as I experienced. Some audio effects can consume CPU and memory if not properly coded. How do we fix the problem? Lets take a look." http://technicallyeasy.net/2009/03/fix-audiodgexe-high-cpu-usage/ Can anyone that is more computer knowledgeable than I look into this? The file will bloat to about 700,000kb after 5 or so hours of play and I notice that it corresponds directly with how bogged down my comp is when logging out of SWTOR's. Please don't flame me if I'm incorrect but I thought it was worth looking at. Discuss.
  20. Just found this as well The audiodg.exe file made its appearance in Microsoft Vista, which explains why I haven’t seen this file before. When I viewed the properties of the file, the description stated Windows Audio Device Graph Isolation, which doesn’t help explain what it does. After doing a little research I found out that the audiodg.exe file hosts the audio engine for Vista, and from what I hear Windows 7 as well. 21. One thing I've noticed is your Audiodg.exe in your processes tab will bloat to extreme levels after 4 or 5 hours of play. CRT ALT DLT some time before logging out and check it out. Audiodg.exe if turned off will turn off your computers sound and you have to restart your comp to restart Audiodg.exe. I'm not sure if this is normal but I'm pretty sure this is where SWTORS is consuming memory in a weird way. http://benosullivan.co.uk/windows/fix-high-cpu-usage-audiodg-exe-in-windows-7-and-vista/ Just found this ^ I wonder if this is the problem?
  22. This happens to me constantly on my shadow. Nothing is less fun than not being able to even fire off abilities.
