  1. I've had a problem for the last week that abilities simply won't fire.

I was sitting on the fleet the other day and just watching abilities fire after clicking them both with hotkey's and screen clicking. I watched as abilities would fire at different times with no obvious pattern as to why they would fire sometimes quickly and sometimes after 5 or 7 key presses.

This has been frustrating me in pvp to no end. Smashing my buttons watching as they click yet never fire off is super frustrating.

I also canceled last week. I hope they can fix this so I can justify paying for this game.

  2. Unless I ask you to.

So, I can't manage to open a thread in these forums without someone mentioning another MMO.

What are the odds that this other mmo's marketing team has community managers trolling these forums for the purpose of making sure their game is mentioned in every single thread?

And if so... good show. It's actually quite genius.

    But still.

    CUT IT THE $%@$ OUT!!!

Honestly no one needs to pay anyone to post bad reviews of this game.

I can write bad write up's for this game all day and no one is paying me. The game is unfinished and obviously has bad leadership in charge.

That one is free for you.

  3. But just one when using the fast travel ? The logic Bioware used in their travel system is simply idiotic.

SWG had same layout of planets and all you got was one screen if you wanted to travel from planet to planet. You had an option to launch into space, hyperspace to your destination, than land. Three loading screens total, and you actually actively participated in your travel via piloting your ship and steering it.

Here comes 2012 and Bioware presents the marvelous world of lore screens and barriers. For my BH to travel from the Fleet to Ilum I had to go though:

1)Elevator that takes me down to my hangar.

    2)Load into my ship.

3)Unload from ship to the space dock.

4)Load from the dock to the Ilum space station.

5)Take a shuttle from space station to Ilum.

Once I am done on Ilum, I pop the "fleet NOW" ability, same way as 90% of people around me do. I do not see the lore appeal or any appeal at all with those loading screens. No, it does not make me feel any more involved in the world when I have to load from instance to another instance four times before I get to my destination; especially when my travel time in those instances is under 20 seconds.

The load screens are the best part of the game!

    What are you talking about?

Personally I think they need to add a load screen when your capping points in Scenario's. They need to figure out someway to squeeze a couple more load screens into the game.

  4. People who dislike WoW (like me) also want dual spec because we are accustomed to more flexibility in our games than WoW provides. Think Guild Wars, FFXI, EVE etc, all of which have a lot more flexibility, customisation and choice in character progression.

As for whether the poll is fair or not...I think it is to an extent because 1000+ responses is a large sample size. The real question is whether forum goers a representative sample of the in game population. I honestly have no idea.

Of course a 1000 sample size is a good poll to see what the community thinks and I applaud you for being so persistent.

    70% seems about right.

Why would I not want to enjoy all the aspects of my class?

A better question is why is this 30% trying to keep us from enjoying our classes?

  5. I find it amusing that "hardcore pvp'rs" would ever roll the overpopulated side on release.

I always roll the underdogs to try to help balance the server but I guess most player's don't care about balance and would rather roll through pvp ranks uncontested.

IMO I love that all empire get is hutball. You deserve worse in my opinion.

And I agree with the OP.

We just get rolled by battlemaster premades unless they happen to get some complete window lickers on their team.

I stopped solo queing altogether. The only way I can get my dailies done is if i have my premade on. Otherwise I'll sit on the daily pvp quest for day's.

  6. It's a little late to claim rushing to 50 as a excuse.

Half the population is 50 now so pretending that these are just power gamers is a joke. If you're not 50 by 1/14/2012 then I'm a little surprised.

Also why are people who haven't even gotten to 50 criticizing players opinions that have played the game more and experienced end game? It's bad that they are playing and using the content?

Are you saying you want power gamers to "slow down"? How about I release HALO and tell everyone to give me 2 months to finish the final boss?

  7. You mean to say the game is 8 years out of date and bugged to death?

Why must you crush my illusions with reality?

Please let me sit here and lie to myself. You're reality is intruding on my fantasy.

BW is perfect and obviously is full of super smart designers who have played tons of mmo's. They made every system in the game cumbersome on purpose noob. Long CD's on the fleet pass is supposed to challenge you as a player! Expensive respecing is about punishing the player.

Don't you get it? Repairs, respeccing, long fleet pass cd's, long empty cooridor's, lack of basic mmo features is all about challenging you to not be a noob.

Personally I love spamming /1 as I travel zone to zone watching load screens constantly, looking for a partner to help me with a heroic super fun!

I'm so irritated that these corps, sell us crap products and what's even worse is half the populace argues in it's favor.

Example, to buy a oreck vaccum.http://www.oreck.com/Upright-Vacuum-Cleaners I must spend tons of money for a old fashioned product. Modern vaccuums that cost 200$ fall apart in 2 years. The Oreck with it's old school simple design that is just as cheap to manufacture costs 3x more.

Point is you have to pay for simple good design and it's obvious that the leadership at BW/EA are not interested in producing quality products. How much of that budget for SWTOR went to executive pay? Do these executives even know wt f they're doing? How long has it been since they played any mmo? Is never a long time?:

  8. Thank you Bioware :D

I have search for a game that could bring back that old feeling of Vanilla wow..

everything is new and the world is a mistery.Iam totaly sold at this game,i know it has a few bugs but thats a part of life.

I think about the game all the time when i dont play it,i even dream about the game when iam sleeping.

thank you for creating this game, its like i wana inform every person on this planet that the game exists so far 7 of my freinds has started playing as well, and they are all playing this game with love.

I totally agree. It's like gaming in 2004 all over again.

BW is full of geniuses. How they made a game in 2012 that feels exactly like 3 month's after WOW's launch is amazing.

Kudo's to you BW. You really out did yourselves. I'm glad to know the last MMO any of you played was vanilla WOW.

    I salute you.

  9. Only thing that needs to be said about Guild Wars 2 is this...

    http://huntersinsight.files.wordpress.com/2011/08/wvwvw.jpeg

thats a leaked part of a pvp map.. supposedly.. 1/3 of the 4 WvWvW (World vs World vs World) Maps that will be on rotation

Oh yes.. they are bringing back DAOC style pvp... they had me at hello

    omg, ty for that link.

that map looks AWESOME.................FRICKING CASTLE SIEGES ARE BACK BABY!

Here is a dev doing a scenario with a elementalist. My favorite video so far.

  10. That's 26 individual keybindings that I need be cognizant of and somehow work into a rotation just to take out silver mob. I can only imagine it gets even worse at higher levels.

I think "convoluted" is the word I'm looking for.

    I use a g13 and g500 mouse.

That being said GW2 has limited the amount of abilities available to most classes down to 15 when including weapon switching. The elementalist will have access to 25 skills in combat but that is the only class as far as i know.

GW2 is addressing this issue of mmo's. I agree though, it's gotten out of hand.

  11. Its awsome to see and its great that it happens, but as already mentioned, this was an event that took planning in order to take place. People don't have any reason to naturally come together and fight for things like say in games like Dark Age of Camelot or Warhammer Online. It was an event that took place for the events sake. There isn't one taking place right now and when I log in their won't be groups already in place out fighting.

You jump on Warhammer Online anytime of the day 24/7 and you will have mass pvp combat taking place.

I think the point to be made here is that SWOTR needs a logical and natural reason for people to get together for PvP, right now, there is no purpose to it and so people don't do it unless someone goes out of their way to schedule events.

QFT. Games should be designed to encourage and facilitate pvp. If players are having to organize it then that's not a good sign.

Some of the last day's on Dark Crag one of WARhammers best servers were spent dualing destro in Chaos wastes.

It's sad when players have to do the designers job's.

  12. The cooldown isn't forcing people to exploit the system. They're doing that on their own.

The answer to people looking for instant teleport isn't to give them more of them. A better solution would be to have them kicked back to where they joined.

I totally agree. Video games should be as un-fun and punishing as possible.

I don't play games to have fun, I play games for tedium and load screens.

They should increase the CD on the fleet pass imo to 7 days.

Please don't turn this game into easy mode BW.

  13. Why would anyone make a game like this? Singleplayer, MP, MMO, sandbox, themepark, story or no story.. No matter what kind of game it is, it just makes no sense. Makes me think the lead dev must be some sort of OCD control freak or something.

    This ^

The BW leadership obviously checked out when EA purchased them.

The real owners of BW that made it great are sipping cocktails on 6 million dollar yachts.

I think they probably stopped caring about gaming when the zero was added onto their checks.

  14. If you notice carefully, there is simply no games that can handle a large amount of high detailed characters. Period. Not on PC, not on X-360, not on PS3. (Well, maybe Rage from ID software)

I think I read once that the best engines on the market can handle 10-12 3-D high definition characters top. This is why even top of the lines machines crawl into rendering current-gen MMO social hubs at peak hours

The only way around it is either to use a less intensive graphic engine (hint : WoW, or simply switching to low definition on Fleet), or utterly convert social hubs in pure and simple chat rooms.

I never once had city lag in RIFT. In fact I never once had lag in RIFT.

Rift was launched as polished as most mmo's are after a year.

Just saying you don't seem to know what you're talking about. Personally this is the first mmo I've ever had any performance issues with.

  15. I'm obviously slow; I'm only at lvl 29, so the game works pretty well for me, and seems huge to me in terms of content. But I'm beginning to realize that a lot of people see the lvl 1-49 part as just a warmup to the "good stuff." While I agree that they should have made leveling a bit slower, it seems they figured they would build out 1-49 for launch. Now I expect 80% of the development effort will be geared toward adding endgame content. And they'll fix most of the other stuff that is subpar by and by.

So, there's really no problem here. Slow boat players like me can sub along and always have plenty to do. Power levelers can simply take a year off and come back to it fresh when it has all of the content that they are expecting. Save a year's subscription fees! (and stop whining)

This ^ See guy's this guy has it all figured out.

Just listen to him and take a year off. I'm sure the dev's and publisher's love to here that.

Truth is though this guy is right about taking a year off if you're at all hardcore about mmo's.

The game isn't finished yet plane and simple.

I'm going to sub next month and casually gear up for pvp but I'm having a hard time feeling invested into my toon when most of my guild is barely loggin on this week.

  16. Why does some douche like this always have to come in a try and justify to him self that someone legitimately doesn't like the game?

Cause that's all douche bags are good at.

Every single thread has a guy like this and he's usually 2nd through the 4th response.

You want dual spec? He tell's you l2p and stop respecing

You want a lfd tool? He tell you to join a guild.

Would you like bug fixes? He'll tell you that BW are perfect and the the bugs are intentional.

Getting pretty tired of these people who tell others how to play there game.

  17. Are you for real?

No, just trolling idiots who want the game to be less convenient than it already is.

This game is by far the biggest pita to do almost anything in than any other mmo i've ever played.

The CD on the emergency fleet pass is almost trollish.
