  1. Not reading a single post in this pointless thread. Stating that the only reason I even debated on picking up this terrible excuse for an MMO, IS the for story. Stop pretending that just because you dislike something about a game, that everyone has to feel the same way.
  2. Some people can't handle that their precious game had to buy that 90+. Denials cute, ya know.
  3. Lol, you keep believing that. One day you'll understand how the world and advertising actually work.
  4. No. The fact that it's fact, makes it a fact. Do people really think that these companies wouldn't pay reviewers to highly rate them for advertising? >Pay. ADVERTISING. Answer me this; How many times have you played a game rated terribly and it was incredible fun? Now how many times have you played a game rated highly and it was a major disappointment?
  5. Doing the same here. No issues. Last night I raided in WoW and leveled SWTOR at the same time.
  6. Yeah, there is a lot of flaws with the game right now, and unfortunately the forums are full of people bashing this game something fierce. Dunno why, really. I haven't dealt with any bugs that were so bothersome that I stopped playing. (Well, maybe that 9000 Error. ) Where is BW at least keeping us informed and whatnot? I feel like they're just sitting and waiting to see if people really quit over these things or not, or if they'll actually have to stop being lazy and do something.
  7. He IS reviewing the game. I'd find it amazing if he was able to try everything out thoroughly and hit 50 in 85 hours. And yeah, I saw you quoted it a few pages back when I went reread other posts. My bad.
  8. "Where The Old Republic makes the flimsiest attempt to break the mold is in its combat design: a very traditional click-to-activate ability system that borrows heavily from the big MMOs of recent years. It’s enjoyable enough to play with, and has a few nuances, but will ultimately leave MMO vets with a sense of déjà vu at a time when most are eagerly looking for something different." "Skill trees are very different from one another, but there’s almost zero room for customization within each of the trees, so you won’t be able to experiment much after you settle on one." "You can march imperiously around your ship like you can in Mass Effect, but alas, your ship is tiny and there are only a few interactive spots." "I’ve played the three instanced PvP WarZones 25 times, and most matches had a very broad range of players (anywhere between levels 12 and 50). Almost without exception, the highest level players—who have the most skills and skill points at their disposal—dominated the match. The measures put in place to balance incongruous player power do help at higher levels, but PvP is often full of frustration as a low-level player." "Inside the game, things were a bit creakier. My client never crashed, but the typical MMO bugs showed up to cause problems, like a few broken quests, unusable gathering nodes, and UI glitches. I only saw reports of one game-breaking bug, but it was fixed on launch day. " (Which is funny because there is tons of game-breaking bugs and none of them have been fixed since beta.) "A lot of questions remain for The Old Republic, particularly regarding the endgame. We know that hard-mode Flashpoints, raids, and PvP areas await us at max level, but we don’t know if they’ll prove diverse and interesting enough to keep our attention for the long-term. If the endgame consists of gear-grinding and standard raid encounters, it’ll have a very jarring effect on those who loved playing through stories for the previous 200 hours. I’m also concerned that the need to record new voice-overs for every bit of new dialog will slow down production of content updates and make the team more likely to focus only on raid content post-launch." Nope. I think I read it fine. I find it funny that people instantly think you're a hater when you point something out. I actually like this game and will continue playing, but I'm not bad like so many who are dumb enough to believe that this game is acceptable right now.
  9. "Editor’s note: This review is based on our impressions from our first 85 hours in the game as an Imperial Agent who reached level 35. Some endgame elements were not ready to be evaluated at the time of this review, but as always, we will follow-up this review with constant and regular updates of our impressions as the game progresses here at http://www.pcgamer.com and in the magazine. — LD" FFS.
  10. I'm a Sith Inquis at 25, and I'm having a blast with her. Story is good, and I do happen to be going Dark, but there are a lot of Light choices as well. Just pick neutral until a light one comes up if you don't want to choose the dark. Most of the time the choice is something like Let them live or kill them anyway.
  11. Actually, they said 35. and some odd 90 hours. If you read the review he consistently talks about how it's mediocre and this and that. Then he's just like... 93! It's so obvious these companies pay these reviewers, it's almost painful.
  12. I understand the fix and that it wasn't the high res that went in, but from the way it's worded, I hope that forcing AA by changing the settings file is still going to work.
  13. Sure, but you can't deny that there are people who can be classified as nothing other than a fanboy, when you point out obvious flaws in their precious game and they refuse to accept it and call you a WoW fanboy.
  14. Will probably happen at the end of the year when SWTOR goes F2P.
  15. You're kidding right? WoW has YEARS left, and is a substantially better game. SWTOR is good, it is not great.
  16. Yeah, this really. 3 months of the same bugs in beta, now on Live? Please. Not to mention anytime Blizzard or even NCSoft ****s up on a patch they hotfix that **** ASAP. Usually out within the first week. AS WELL as BW having what budget to do this game with? I think now that the holidays are over they'll kick it into gear. If not? Say goodbye, Biofail.
  17. Pretty lulzy, but I'm with ya. They said they'd be implementing it in a patch, so I guess all we can do is wait.
  18. I know, I was just using Dark Side choices as an example, since random cruelty is often a dark side choice, and Ashara, whom I am trying to romance, dislikes those, as well as fighting Jedi.
  19. 1.) Well, it's not in the game yet, but they stated officially a couple times that they were adding it in a patch, and the only reason it wasn't out on release was the whole Voice Acting deal. 2.) Yeah, someone had answered me on another forum. They have they're own personality and yours may conflict with them at times, but you could always send them away during a dark choice/Companion Gifts, etc. At the time I was wondering if it was something I did specifically to make them light or dark. 3.) And yeah, I think that we get to choose, since other people are talking about when they did this or her or whatever, plus all the Wiki's say they're all romance-able.
  20. He pointed out that it stops being linear after the 20s.
  21. Okay, so I've been reading a lot about companions and affection/romancing options etc, but some things have me confused. 1.) I know that there is no same sex romance at this time, but when they implement it, how would that work, really? Should I not level affection with a companion I want to romance until they add it? 2.) My biggest question is the whole... companions being light or dark thing. I don't understand that at all. Are there certain response options that decide whether they are light or dark? Or do they just follow me? 3.) I've also read that every one has one romance-able companion, but there has been no real explanation to what that means? Does that mean you can only romance one at one time,(For example; I would not be able to romance Khem, while 'romanced' to another companion) or that Bioware set that certain classes or whatever can only romance certain companions. (For example; Bioware chooses that I can romance Khem, and only Khem.) Mainly this is all because I want to romance Ashara. I am, however, a female Twi'lek, so I can't YET. And I don't want to mess up when I do get her and ruin it so I can't romance her later or something.
  22. Good review and opinion. I haven't spacebarred through anything but the crap I already did in beta. Honestly, the story and voice acting is the only reason I haven't burnt out already, as I HATE leveling.
  23. Ain't that the truth. And a very painfully obvious one.
