  1. I'd also love to see some new rewards...there are many that won't wreck the economy. How about decorations?? Maybe a new type of Certificate -- A Casino Certificate -- that you can redeem at a vendor for special GSH decorations plus other things. A few really hard to get decos can be "jackpot" rewards, plus a mix of the rep plus the occasional cartel market certificate and crafting material . What I'm trying to say is there are lots of ways to make the slot machine fun and rewarding and like virtual gambling without ruining the economy. And without letting this nerf-batted version be the final one. And for those people with no self-control and the botters, I still think there needs to be some sort of limit on weekly gambling. I think I did like 3,000 tokens for the entire week the slot machine was working, and gosh that was plenty--I read of some people on here who did nothing but play that slot all week because they knew the rewards were too generous.,...Like, to the tune of tens of thousands of spins. Too much. I'm not sure what the right level of saying WOAH, you've had enough, while letting most people still have ample slot fun, but I know it exists.
  2. Actually, what Eric flat-out said was that JAWA JUNK was going to be nerfed. I assumed, as he said, that the rest was WORKING AS INTENDED. By the way, I opened two hypercrates, no slot, so I purchased one the first night with way too many millions of credits. That said, I was still happy because I simply expected (and received) a slot machine that was FUN to play for my Stronghold. Not only something to do in my Stronghold, but something that my Guild mates visited to use. I expected Jawa Junk to be nerfed big after Eric's post. What I did not expect at all was that EVERY OUNCE of fun would be taken out of the slot machine. Now it is just a pretty, large paperweight in my GSH. Odds (and fun) in Las Vegas are way higher. For me, to fix the machine, all they had to do was LIMIT the weekly amount of tokens you could put in (fixes people who literally sat all day and clicked, and bots) NERF the Jawa Junk and maybe adjust the paytable on the rest MODERATELY and/or add some other fun prizes. But NOT adjust it to a FRACTION of payout for every single prize except the rep, because once you max out the rep, there is nothing fun to win. One cartel market certificate every several hundred tokens isn't enough.
  3. I am so, so disappointed by this slot event!! I came back to SWTOR full time because of the Galactic Stronghold coming up, and was thrilled to hear about the slot game! I am basically what many of you would consider a casual MMO player, although I've been subbed since day one. I am not really into Nightmare mode and Hard ops etc but I love the game, the stories, and want more things to do in game besides shoot things (and more exciting loot drops, but that is another story). A really good slot mini-game in an MMO can make me throw credits at it like popcorn. What do I consider a really good slot MMO? Well, one that you open up a window and get to play a SLOT MACHINE. You know, whirring little icons that either match up or don't, like the one Neopets had like 10 years ago (my first MMO, they still have them). Works like a slot, its fun, you get all sorts of little wins, its entertaining, sometimes you hit it big, although usually you lose credits. This can also be worked for tokens etc like SWTOR wants us to use. At least I am entertained when I am gambling away my in-game credits! It's funny; I don't like to play real slots because I don't want to waste real money, so MMO slots are super fun , since something is at stake but it isn't real cash. But this? Wow. It's like Here is a button push for minimum 1,000 credits. It simply turns red or green and you can win a token or certificate occasionally, with maybe winning or losing a token or winning a whole 2 ? Boring. Well, looks like I'l be saving tons of credits. I hope it is not too late to bring REAL MMO slots to the game at some point. And, I hope this is not a harbinger of things to come for Galactic Strongholds; I so don't want to be disappointed again.
  4. I agree that this game desperately needs some things to obsess over --things to collect, things to show off, you know, addictive things that hook people into the game. The "items" in this game are so limited--armor which is repetitive in looks and feel, a few speeders and a few pets. Yawn. There are so many ideas, I'm not going to go over them all here...just a few off the top of my head--an basic achievementt system (the codex doesn't count--I like to know what there is to unlock/achieve and then go do that. How about an in-game casino on Nar Shadda?? Besides Pazaak, I'm sure you can play a "rolling wheels" game like our slots that I can gamble my credits on, plus a nice variety of other Star Wars gambling games. Can also be a social center. How about customizing/decorating our ships?\ Loot drops in this game are BORING BORING. I should want desperately to do dailies. flashpoints, everything in game just for a chance at that shiny/, rare loott drop. But I don't because the loot is repetitive and boring. The economy is the only thing that is a little addicting to me now...I hope F2P doesn't ruin it/. Would even be better with a greater variety of goods to sell. We need more events!!! All that said, I DO still love this game and think there is PLENTY to do at end game--here is what I do (I've been playing since late Beta): --Level up my other toons; love the stories --level up all my companions affectin to get the rest of their stories. --continue to improve the gear of all my toons and companions\ --craft and buy and sell on GTN; also go node hunting occassionally --do dailies as I feel like it and need comms and credits. If bored I let them go a bit and go back to them/ --hang out with my Guild doing dailies or just chatting --pvp --flashpoints --ops --legacy--I love creating my legacy story, sending credits around, buying various character perks. Also toons share crafted items etc I know I'm leaving stuff off . BUT, I'm not bored at all and really enjoying the game. However, would love to see Bioware try to understand a bit better basic human psychology and add the more obsessive/addictive elements to the game --to be a collector in an MMO with nothing much to collect is just crazy.
  5. You know what?...It might sound odd, but I don't mind a short queue of up to 15 minutes or so.. It's kind of exciting, and sign of a healthy game, and I have plenty of things to do on my desk and computer while I wait to log in. So for me at least, short queues beat less populated servers.
  6. I'm a collector. Yep, of digital online "fluff" for my characters. I'm extremely, extremely disappointed about the online CE store. This, from a real game "cheerleader" or hopeless fangirl, take your pick. How hard can it possibly be to throw a few exclusive pets and pieces of nice/fun social armor in the CE store for us??? It would create lots of good will.
  7. Transfers went extremely smoothly and unbelievably quickly. Although I really loved my original server, and we had a decent population, The Shadowlands is full to the brim and a ton of fun; grouping has been so much easier, and PVP is an all day long cornucopia! I was extremely lucky and only lost character names for 2 minor alts that actually went to another server. We DID lose our Guild name, but I actually like our new Guild name better, so all is good. Thanks, BW, and well done!! Can't wait for 1.3!

  9. ^ This My entire active Legacy is on Krayt Dragon. We have no idea what is going to be happening, so my Guild embers can't even make any decisions. I'm trying to come up with alternates to my names as I assume most will be taken by the time I transfer..IF I have to transfer. Everything is just so up in the air. If I knew for sure, Origin or Destination, so much would fall into place. IF BIoware knows at least that much bare info for remaining servers that are on-the-cusp, releasing that info would calm down lots of anxious players right now. Sure would be appreciated. Overall, the transfer process has been fantastic, but not knowing and possibly being at the back of the line with no knowledge to prepare is extremely stressful.
  10. Arggghh!! Please, please, please let us know the fate of Krayt Dragon by the end of the day today. I'm in a big Guild there that was a founding Guild. Decisions need to be made. We've always been a medium-ish server--so we just don't know our fate. I'm gone all day tomorrow, and if I have to transfer, its going to be hard enough to keep any of my names TODAY; if I miss most of tomorrow and a transfer is announced while I'm away, I've got no chance. Also...I have a few toons from other servers that COULD transfer, but I don't want to take up slots for my main legacy account if the destination server for my Krayt toons ends up being the same. Does anyone know if you can do transfers on an iPhone or iPad?
  11. Just transferred one character from The Corageous to Canderous Ordo. Went smooth as silk; I did have to rename character, but oh well. The transfer process was very easy to follow and complete. Was playing on new server within 10 minutes!
  12. Took all of yesterday afternoon and most of the night, but PTS finally downloaded. Of course, since I'm an idiot an did it backwards, my level 50 didn't copy over (cause there was nothing to copy it over to till I downloaded PTS, duh me). Is it too late to ask to copy over a toon? In any event, sitting here with my coffee reading the patch notes!!!!
  13. Awesome!!!!!! Very excited! Will we get a sneak peek there on how transfers will work? If not, hope you'll fill us all in soon. Thank you!
  14. i'm doing a happy dance! I'm so excited about the new content! I already love the game, and this will give me more to love. Playable cat people, cool for me! Another planet, more story (I hope that is what more levels mean), another warzone...etc etc all good!! One word though: transfers, transfers, transfers! Players in general will be LOTS happier if they know when this is going to occur. Personally, I can't wait to have more people on my server to play with (not that my server is bad; it isn't, it just isn't as full as it was at launch). Also, I can then transfer my toon from a dead server to my main legacy server.
  15. Um, doom and gloom guys and gals--you have plenty of threads stating your opinion; much of it well said and valid. SO....can you just leave one positive thread alone for the rest of us?
  16. I am with you OP! I love this game. I am not blind to the problems. Looking forward to transfers, etc. That said, I am managing to have a fine time playing while waiting for improvements and transfers etc.--I, for one, do feel I'm getting my $15 a month worth. We pay $15 for a ticket to a movie and some popcorn with fake butter--only 2 hours, and often, the movie isn't perfect, but we are still entertained. I'm getting WAY more for my $15 a month here than most movies provide. Also...I was one of the people who was scared off of ever trying SWG--everything was so negative on those boards too--I fear we are scaring away many possible paying customers...most likely newbies to MMOs that see the negativity and run screaming away. That was me with SWG, and now with a bit more experience, I think I would have enjoyed that game warts and all. If the tone of this board scares away new customers, that will simply make it harder for Bioware to have the $$ to keep improving and expanding the game . So, like the OP said, POSITIVE JUNE!! Patience, padawans, patience!
  17. Another vote for Krayt Dragon! I love my server; I can find people to play with most times of day or night. I do quite a bit of PVP and queueing goes quickly. I have an active Republic guild. People are great. I've also had no trouble grouping for PVE when I want to. There are some other large guilds on both sides that I see quite frequently. Fleet varies, but has strong numbers at prime time. I'm going to transfer my characters on other servers here; would love to greet all you new transfers to Krayt Dragon when they become available!
  18. I absolutely love this game! I have been playing since the weekend betas. I had to take a break of a few months due to an illness, but I'm back now and nearly have my first character to 50. I really missed the game when I couldn't play. I love Legacy and have a whole story and 4 characters there so far at various levels. I'm a veteran of video games but relatively new to MMOs; never played WOW and have no interest in it. I actually did play one MMO which closed down, and it was devastating. I PVE and PVP as well; not on a RP server but I probably should be, may roll some on a RP server later, maybe even a PVP server. I'm in a healthy Guild and I 'm on a server that hits Standard regularly at peak hours, so not the biggest, but not the smallest. I think that merging servers/transfers is necessary for the health of the game and all those NOT on a decent population server. I don't want this game to end, I'm sad at all the negativity in the forums because I'm afraid the forum is chasing away customers, and I'm worried about the layoffs--some of the criticism is valid, Bioware should listen, but I believe it is not being delivered in the most helpful manner. I WANT to see this game succeed, I want to see new content and updates regularly. I want more content at level 50 for both PVPers and PVEers. I want to be here enjoying SWTOR for many years to come!!!!
  19. I love my server, Krayt Dragon, a PVE East Coast. It is usually Standard during peak times. I love to PVP in the Warzones, and it is very easy and usually quick to pick up matches. I'm in a great Republc Guild that is nearly full, so there is always chatting going on. There are some other major Guilds as well, and no shortage of Empire. I've also had no problems doing Heroics or Flashpoints when I've wanted to do them (well, unless it is 3AM East Coast time). I've also made a ton of credits on the GTN, so the economy is OK there as well. Hope to see some of you there!
  20. OK--I have 11 fragments (finally!) for Tracking the Origin and I really want my pet BUT for the life of me, I can't seem to figure out how to get the spaceship fragment northeast of Mos Ila--I can't even seem to open up the part of the map that the fragment is on. Can someone help me?? I'm level 27, and pretty much a newbie. Thanks!!
  21. I am LOVING this event! Tons of fun for the casual player. Oh, and BTW I was Level 26 when I started the event, no problem.
  22. Great constructive post! I'm relatively new to MMOs except for some more kid-based ones I played with my family before...so here, from a total newbie's perspective, are things from your post I'd also especially like to see: >>4. Allow us to turn off head gear for companions. Plenty of threads on this already. Go go now, code this in. Yes, yes yes! My Corso needs his dreads blowing in the wind. >>5. I know the UI is getting fixed. Allow us to move it, resize it, etc. This can't happen soon enough. Would be very helpful! >>>7. Give us stuff to decorate the inside of our ship. Player housing is a huge strength in mmo's. This will help keep me interested in my lvl50 character by giving him something to do other than killing the same bosses over and over again for gear. TOTALLY THIS. I'm a collector-oriented player. Collecting keeps me in a game for years. All I have to collect right now is gear, and even THAT there is so little I can collect based on appearances. I SO want to collect things for my ship, and I'm completely into decorating my ship. BTW, as a collector, I was beyond extremely disappointed how little there was to collect in the CE store. Bummer that. >>9. Refine the Galactic Trade Network. Even Tabula Rasa (lol) had a search option to browse items by type. I shouldn't have to scroll through 17 pages of bracers and belts to look for something to wear on my head. I respect you guys at BioWare, however let's be honest, the GTN interface as it stands is an epic failure for the amount of money and time you've had on this game. Also this. I'm a credits and economy motivated player also. If the economy is healthy, the game is healthy. Wish we could also have our own "Stores" in some sore of player-vendor where I could set up shop, and also just outright buy stuff from others without having to go through the annoying GTN. >>12. Why do I need to go to a cantina? Sure, there's rest XP for my low level toons, but what purpose do they really serve other than an inn? Can we get some quests, or maybe earn social XP, to push people into the cantinas to dance. Maybe a personal profession system, where we choose dancing or music or something similar that we can level in the cantinas. It would help get that second "m" in the "mmo". Just a thought. Wish the cantinas were more lively and felt more like the cantina in Star Wars...with tons of species and all that... >>14. Get the in game CSR's to start cleaning up names now. Legacy names like "Rapetastic" and "Childmolestor" really shouldn't stand more than a few hours after being reported. WOW. Haven't seen much of this, but that needs to be fixed ASAP. >>15. Break the mold with level 50. Don't make it all about PvP or Pve, give us more to do. I mentioned collecting things to decorate our ships with, how up pod racing, or racing our spaceships? Set up racing circuits around the galaxy, could be fun. I'm actually dreading getting to Level 50. Without collecting/decorating/better economy I'm afraid I'll be bored. If all I have to do is fight, what a waste of a great Universe and character! That is the perspective of a newbie that wants to keep enjoying this game for a long, long time. So...thanks for the great post OP. And thanks to the Devs that hopefully read this thread!
  23. Actually, I'm awfully fond of those people...thanks to them I literally ordered a CE from Amazon last night, its been shipped and delivery is tomorrow! Enabling me to be able to cancel my Target pre-order--they were horrific and did nothing AT ALL about providing me with a valid pre-order code after giving me a used on on November 11; thanks to THEM (and Bioware giving lame customer service...although they did finally give me a code in DECEMBER) I'm still not playing. So, um, THANK YOU AMAZON!
