Well no need to advertise if you use them... Because I think it is a nasty commercial technique to require people to spend a bunch of extra money buying their "special" keyboard, to be able to play the game more effectively.

agreed this is what I want to know. I just spent about $2500 on a gaming laptop for this game that will be arriving any day, I certainly don't want to spend $200 more on a special SWTOR keyboard. This guy is asking what I am asking, are there programs that DO NOT require that special expensive keyboard to use? That you could use with any regular keyboard? Just saying $200 cause that is what someone said that special keyboard costs

So without any ******** remarks, has anything been stated from Bioware/EA as to why they had the big layoff? Any yellow posts, or any news things? I may not have done much research, but I just remember hearing at launch that they promised on keeping the team together, or something of that sort.

Eh, i prefer using most of my attacks with key combinations using the numpad quickslot 1: numpad 1234567890/* quickslot 2: Shift+ numpad 1234567890/* quickslot 3: alt + numpad 1234567890/* etc... Actually been having an issue, I want to be able to make keybinds using Ctrl + numpad, but I can't because the ctrl key hampers movement, if I am holding ctrl and I push S, i don't move backwards, instead it is a keybind that toggles sound, and I can't figure out how to unbind it. Either way, I will need to try a program that doesn't require a special keyboard.

My new computer coming in in a few days is an Asus Gaming Laptop, I am curious as to whether its keyboard will have this programmable feature that yall are talking about.

First time I encountered the sound bug was a few days ago, my guy was all moving his hands and not saying anything, I was like ***? is the rodian deaf and he is trying to use sign language? LOL

Well the game already has bounties, People get in general saying "I will pay 200k credits to whoever kills ________" Same thing. If the game had it's own system, it wouldn't encourage griefing, as you would only get the bounty from 1 kill and maybe only the first person to kill gets it. Therefore 1 paid kill on a target is not greifing. Though it should be open to any class, not just bounty hunters.

See now I am curious about this, I have never heard of that technique or had any experience using a program like synapse. The only macro experience I had was with the built in macros that you could program in WoW and that is what I was talking about.

While we are on the addon topic. I was not huge into addons, but there was a specific addon I used exclusively known as TauntMaster. Sadly i don't think it was widely used. But it allowed me to simply click on party members nameplates when they had aggro and it would automatically taunt an enemy off them without me even having to target that enemy. was very convenient. Though also, the little bit of time i spent healing, I used Healbot

Before the Macro thread was locked, I was told this by Enderet "The keyboard uses Razer Synapse 2.0... just download it." Can you give a little more detail on that, I didn't think any other downloaded programs could be used with SWTOR? I would like to be able to consolidate my buttons into fewer ones.

That being said, i didn't think this game supported using apps, addons, etc...

It isn't anything complicated at all. Compared to the little bit of Java programming i have done, and the large amount of HTML, writing macros is child's play. That is just laziness.

This game still doesn't have a macros feature, but if you want to spend a crapton of money on so ridiculously expensive SWTOR specific keyboard made by razer, or whoever makes that, THEN you can use Macros? That sounds like bull ****. People are going psyco about having too many abilities. I am reading that they aren't allowing normal macros because people can use them "to automate gameplay" The only thing i have ever used macros for in other MMOs is to link different attacks together that can be casted at the same time to save some button space. I don't see why we can't be allowed to do that, or allows us to set one single keybinding to cover multiple quickslots, then I could set it up without a macros feature. The only form of automated gameplay I do is auto-running into a wall to keep the game from logging me out when i go afk (and that only works about 60% of the time). But my only use of macros would be to save quickslot space since we have so many attacks. And can even help with targetting, as I am a player who likes playing completely with the keyboard, doing my attacks with keybinds that involve the numpad. (Basically trying my best to use the mouse as little as possible. My ideal playing would involve not ever having to click anything and just be able to use the keys. The exception is space combat, then I like using the mouse)
