asus makes garbage motherboards these days. btw i have a very overclocked 6850 and a phenom x4 975; all settings maxed with 8x AA and get about 40ish FPS minimum in fleet. gigabyte mobo, btw...

you are using an 8+ year old CPU. how could you think this is the fault of the games'?

check customer service. there's a TON of us that can't patch the game because of supposed corrupted files. our clients are stuck in a repair loop cycle. LOTS of us. canceling sub until this is fixed. and i was a huge fanboy

do any of you guys have the following line in your client_settings.ini file: MeshLODQuality = 0 if not, i believe this is essentially doing the same thing without 3rd party software. i've noticed that if i change that value to 1 or 2, the quality of the ground gets worse. 0 is the high quality setting, FYI. edit: also, if you don't have it; add this in: TextureQuality = 0

they're buying EVE from CCP and implementing 92% of the elements from that game, into TOR. woot.

When buying AMD cards with the current numbering scheme, follow these basic rules: #1. Don't buy any AMD card where the 2ND number is less than 7. #2. If you have to settle for a card where the 2ND number is a 7, make sure the 3RD number is also at least a 7. #3. If at all possible, try to get a card where the 2ND number is an 8, AND that it is followed by at least a 5. so, as an example, here's some bad cards: 6450, 6570, 6670, 6750 here's an example of good cards: 6850, 6870, 6950, 6970 the 6770 is borderline. i'd spend an extra $25-$40 and get the 6850 which is way way better.

with all the programmers that go to MMORPG school these days, i agree. hell i went to MMORPG school and just got done designing a perfect bug free MMO all by myself!

you really have to stay up to date on your gear or the mobs quickly overwhelm you. i go back to fleet every other level and refit all new mods. i also have 2 of my companions in as much orange as possible. keeps things comfortably manageable for killing mobs. using this system also keeps my crew skills up to date. my main is level 45 and all 3 crew skills are in the 360s. it's a very well balanced system.

actually, there is one thing i can think of that could possibly doom this game. the faction imbalance. and i know exactly why there's an imbalance.

the ship is too quiet. i want to be able to walk up to one of my displays and either: browse the internet (our real world internet, not some star wars holonet) and/or have a music player that plays music directly from our hard drives. EVE online has both these functions in their 9 year old MMO... FYI.
