  1. Even after the Emperor dubbed him Darth Vader, he was still not a Sith. Even after he killed the younglings, he was not a Sith... this was all the prohpecy to bring balance to the force... and he did. Anakin, because he was the Chosen One, was given certain privileges and leniency other Jedi were not... for example, he was not kicked out of the Jedi order after slaughtering the sand people. Only, when Padme asked him to run away to Naboo with her, and choose power and the darkside, did he become a Sith. Bringing it back to the question, why play Jedi over Sith? Well, think about it like this... in Return of the Jedi, how many Sith are around. TWO! You ain't one of 'em. How many Jedi die in Episode 2 or 3? Lots and lots. To pick the Empire/Sith side is to say, I like being on the losing side.
  2. Those people manufacture the huttballs. The dispenser loads from the bottom.
  3. Tin Foil Hats: Will no longer grant immunity to brain scans.
  4. Nice guys finish last. I will not hesitate to kill it while you make up your mind. You were content enough to sit there and wait to decide... you'll be content enough to sit and wait another spawn cycle. I will pass out invites in the interim if no enemy is present. Decline and that is my green light to not play nice with you. This also goes for nodes. I will NOT ninja your treasure box as you fight it's guardians. But this policy may change based on how many more boxes are taken from me.
  5. Most notably, the life insurance policy they take out on you then 'get stuck on terrain' in combat. I've not a romance with my crew/companions and seem to have suffered no ill effects. One of my buddies, in vent, asked the same thing you did so he decided to try it and find out. He ended up getting hitched... for that he got some companion gifts in the mail. I don't know that it's done much more for him than that. Besides having someone nag him about leaving his socks around the spaceship...
  6. You say "Honey, I need to upgrade my processor. There are now 8 core processors out there and mine only has two. Also, don't you think you need a new pair of shoes?" -OR- Build her a computer around your old processor. My wife has been using a crappy HP Walmart special PC for a few years now. I'm getting, come the first (GOOO TAXES!) A brand spanking new machine... with one of them fancy 8 core processors, 16 GB of RAM and all the bells and whistles... and she gets my old rig... which ain't too shabby. Also she gets some clothes. Can't go wrong with clothes. -OR- Make a deal with the Devil. NOTE: I do NOT encourage this as it can have a lasting effect upon your mortal soul with unforeseeable consequences.
  7. Ok, lemme take it one step further... Why no severed limbs? I can't finish a guy with an Obi-Wan to Anakin style limb removal? Lemme see some heads rolling down some hills.
  8. Practice. Practice. Practice. I've been in the same boat for a bit now... I'll stomp the easier missions... but get owned on the harder ones... maybe I suck. Seeing as there is no repair bill for your ship, just a nominal travel fee... keep practicing. Learn when something is coming and try to anticipate them being there.
  9. Here are my thoughts: 1. I do feel, given the amount of time they spent working on and testing this game (recording voice overs) it should have been delivered in better condition. Missing essential and fundamental things like a combat log, target of target frames, resizable/adjustible UI, functionality of the endgame open world PvP zone etc, should have been implemented before the game rolled out. I DO NOT like entering into the paid beta (you are now in the paid beta - you probably will be for the next 8-24 months) when the actual beta wasn't used to it's fullest extent. The customer SHOULD expect better - I don't care a game 8 years ago had 37+ days down time or 479 bugs or the launcher launched upside down. The point is, Bioware can see those errors made by other companies and anticipate... I expect to not have unexpected down time, or more bugged quests than functional. 2. It's a new game. Players on this scale are going to find things even beta testers couldn't. It's gonna be chock full of bugs and exploits etc. I've spent more money on worse games, and I've spent less money on better games... I'll roll with it so long as Bioware shows decent effort, I'm subbed up again for the month... and I'll take it one month at a time.
  10. I looted orange bracers from a Security Chest on Taris (Republic side - so fairly early on). I reverse engineered them like a sucker.
  11. Also on Kaas City... I've started leveling an Imp alt. I noticed in Imp Fleet usually sitting 200+ While reb fleet has around 100. Ilum Imperial has approximately 50-75 when Republic has 17 (two of which are 12 and 17 same name and sometimes a 33). I estimate the imbalance to be 3:1 depending on time of day and when the cookies are due out the Imperial ovens (note: it's never... the cookies are a lie).
  12. If damage output/time isn't a good way to measure DPS what is?
  13. In PVP warzones it tells you your over all DPS. One time I got 134.9 dps. 1. Note target's health. 2. Start timer and damage. 3. Stop timer and divide time by health. It's not exact, but it should give you a good idea. If it takes you 10 seconds to kill a 37k health gold mob at level, its an approximated 3,700 dps. I wouldn't brag about these approximated numbers, but it should give you a good idea of how much you can do... 5 dots or not.
  14. Stay dead. Q a WZ. Leave WZ for inactivity. Spawn at fleet.
  15. I was having issues with it too. I just set all my graphic settings to high... applied... reset the graphics to what I wanted and it seems to have taken care of it.
  16. There were issues with this same thing in WAR... they offered xp bonuses to roll the side with the lowest population. It didn't really help. at 11:10 CST I logged in on my Republic toon and searched Ilum in the /who: 17 results. I switched to my Imperial toon and did the same search: 47 results. At nearly any given time, Imp fleet has 200 more players than Rep fleet. One of my concerns about this game, was that I predicted in 6 months time 60% of the playerbase would be "OMG RED LIGHTSABUR!!!11!! FORCE LIGHTNING!!11! I'MMA SIF LAWD!!!11!" We are well on our way to seeing that become reality.
  17. I must admit, Corso was a great companion. Then one day, I pulled out the fish... Corso keeps the bench warm. Best part? I don't have to hear 'Now you're dumb, ugly and dead' ever again. Wheeee!
  18. I think 9 daysish. But I stood around and did nothing (just send mah dudes for stuff) for 3 of them easily (hoping guildies would catch up). I still spend a lot of time standing in fleet just sending mah dudes out waiting on guildies. I help them when they need/ask for it... otherwise they don't like taking the kills xp nerf.
  19. I don't think it ever felt like Star Wars. I see lightsabers... and there's a Jawa... and that walker looks like something out of Episode 2... those Repbulic troopers (at a distance) look like they may be stormtroopers... It kinda looks like Star Wars. I suppose nothing is more immersive than those flying mounts on Alderaan... (I'm now happy the Empire blows that planet up in ANH).
  20. I opened my bags today... got pants, shirt and weapon. Last week I got Bracer, gloves, belt, boots and a relic. Had enough comms to buy a shotgun from the cent guy. I don't pvp often, a few matches here and there to kill time. I'm not a competitive PvPer by any stretch of the imagination... I don't see how anyone who PvPs regularly cannot have PvP gear. I think I've opened 3 bags from tokens, rest were daily/weekly rewards. It's a non-issue issue... seems to me it's an excuse people make for not winning every single solitary match against everyone all the time.
  21. "Imagine how WoW Arena PvPers will feel if lucky people can get their entire arena set within 1-2 days while they're winning nearly every game all day long for weeks with nothing to show for it." If you are winning most of your matches and you have no gear... that tells me you are pretty good. Do your opponents you are winning against (most matches) have gear? If yes, gear doesn't matter... skill trumps gear... and you are demonstrating skill in the form of tactics, teamwork and planning. If no, then gear isn't as common as you think and you are no more or less entitled to gear than everyone else (people participating in most matches). You cannot win every pvp match. I'd settle for winning some matches. I'd love to win most matches. I do win rarely. I think, you encounter on occasion, a better team, are a sore loser, and blame them having gear.
  22. My favorite is when I get spun 'round an 'round and 'round. I dont' get dizzy anymore. Stunlock sucks.... but what can you do about it? Get stunned.
