What high horse would that be? Are you referring to my sarcastic remark about the fan boys wanting to play as droids, or the jab I made toward the developers? I was in no way declaring my comment as the ultimate answer as to why there are cyborgs in the game. It was merely my opinion, which I still stand by. I posted in this thread because I wanted to share my thoughts and leave it open for discussion, not have someone essentially tell me to shut up and not speak my mind. And for your information, I have never been on a horse...
...anyways, I wasn't denying the existence of cyborgs in the Star Wars canon. I just think it's ridiculous to have them as a playable species. They're still human, only with cybernetics attached to them in some form. It would be like classifying every person in the world that has lost a limb and has an implant as a different species.
I like this game, but it's pretty obvious that BioWare was on a one-track mind when making the game, which was to create an epic experience through storytelling. So, why wouldn't it make sense for them, as a business, to cut corners and skip on things that were considered trivial, especially if they can add or improve them later with a patch or expansion. That just equals more money for them, which I'm sure I will hand over with no hesitation.
Why not just add them to an existing slider like the "Scar" slider and make them cosmetic. Or even better, design a system where you can purchase cybernetics and have them implanted like it was done in Star Wars Galaxies...but, then again, that would require time and resources, and possibly pushing other projects or ideas back. So, there you go...lazy game design, to a certain extent.
