  1. so let me get this straight you just spent 150 bucks and are going to quit. Your reasons are basically swtor is the same as every other mmo on the market, they didnt INNOVATE or do anything outside the NORM that any other mmo has not done. then you go on to say that the mmo formula is proven and it is proven to work. which is basically saying if you dont follow the mmo formula then it is proven to fail. so you bash them for not INNOVATING or being DIFFERENT but then say they would fail if they did INNOVATE or do something DIFFERENT than every other mmo out there. so let me ask this question. what game are you gonna play since this game is the same as every other mmo with no INNOVATION or did not EXPAND on what came before it. according to what you say you wont be happy with any mmo out on the market, since they are all the SAME and they dont INNOVATE or havent EXPANDED on what came before it. ps: dont ask why i used random caps, the op did it so i thought it would be fun.
  2. if someone ever told me that to get in their group not only would i watch the entire cutscene picking as many choices as i could to make it take longer but after the cutscene or every time i had a dialogue choice i would wait till the absolute last second to select my answer. boot me if you want, id rather be booted than some a-hole tell me how to play a game that i spent my 15 bucks on. besides i have a guild so i dont really do pugs anyway. your attitude might be why you have to do pug runs instead of guild runs. my guilds policy is play the way you want to play, you want to watch the cutscene do so. if its my first time seeing it im gonna watch it, after that to be nice to my guildmates ill skip it, but the first one i watch period. if you dont like it dont group with me because im one of those guys that love to make guys like you mad and ill do it for fun and laugh the whole time while eating my frosted flakes.
  3. dont know just started voss and i just hit level 47. ive done ever single quest for every planet and every heroic. did every flashpoint once so far except for colicoid wargames. you can run ship missions for exp and go pvp for a bit for exp till you get a higher level but I dont see how you even need to do those. ive never done either one. or you could get a friend to help you on the quest your having trouble with.
  4. or the answer should be my health was reduced to zero. if you cant raid without a damage meter, you cant raid with a damage meter. damage meters dont make you a better player, they just show who is doing the most dps. bad dps wont get better just because you post it in raid chat. anyone that needs meters to raid simply cant raid anyway and anyone that cant look at their screen while they are playing to see what is going on around them is funny to me. what else are you doing watching tv or streaming dirty movies or something.
  5. did i ever say one single planet has more content that a continent in wow. dont believe i ever mentioned content. reading comprehension ftw. i simply stated swtor has more planets than wow has continents. if wow had 17 continents then wow would have just as many load times as swtor.
  6. im confused by a few things in his post. the main one is he is asking for a medpac that heals companions. um we have one, its in biochem, get a biochemist to make them for you.
  7. id be happy to be able to give my companions a gift on the ship. and seriously where is my bed. i wanted to get freaky freaky time with ashara on my ship, but no bed and i cant give her anything while we are both on the ship. ooh here is a courting gift but i have to give it to you around all these people in the space dock instead of in my nice luxurious state room on my ship that doesnt contain a really awesome vibrating waterbed. now if you can get over all of that, then yeah mail on the ship would be cool but mainly no bed, no intimate setting to give your companion courting gifts. i guess i dont sleep since i have no freaking bed.
  8. if you compare releases swtor had one of the best releases in the history of mmos. only rift is on par and one could argue better than swtor release. if you compare features it is simply a matter of a difference of opinion for the most part. most of the features wow has now, has been implemented over the years might be some features people dont want. i personally left the game over some of those features plus the highly bugged patches, every single patch for 6 years. those are not necessarily mmo features, those are wow features and while alot of people want them, alot of people also dont want them. that is simply a matter of taste, if you truly want those features there is a game that offers those features. there is no word of law that says swtor must have these features, such as xserver group/raid finder, dps meters, addons or mods. those are optional, for wow they worked, i cant think of too many other games that have tried them and been hugely successful. now for the gtn, well there just isnt any excuse for such a poor interface. customizable ui--- should of been built into the game like rift. this is a feature. we should have the ability to go directly to our ship, take a speeder or something directly to our ship hangar. might break immersion a bit but having to travel back to our ship every single time it does get old after a while. the loading screens cant be helped, we have alot of planets in this game, new planets are gonna have to be loaded. same in wow, new continent, loading screen, they just dont have as many continents.
  9. if your guild demands a certain craft to raid then it is a bad guild. dont blame bioware because you got a craphead guild leader. if my guild ever said this id leave in an instant, but i have a good guild and they wont say things like that. they do require you to have your own medpacks, stims or whatever but not a certain crafting profession. anyone, I repeat, anyone can use the blue items, they generally persist through death and last two hours for the stims. adrenals are 15 seconds a pop, hardly something that should be required, you get what 4 ability usages out of them and medpacks can be bought by anyone. besides if your healers dont suck then medpacks should never be used anyway. the only benefit having biochem gives is you can use the reusable stims and medpacks and adrenals but those are hardly required for raiding. you can do just fine with the blue ones. id still find another guild that isnt full of douchebags.
  10. ive listened to every quest ive gotten even side quests. i feel it is very worth it and if people spacebar through the game they are missing out on a lot of stuff. but hey people can play how they want. its not like the conversations take all that long anyway but for me they are very worth it and that is what sets this game apart from other games.
  11. prioritize willpower over endurance for pve. it might be different for pvp but i dont see how. crit caps at 30 percent, power never caps. with the way diminishing returns works in this game at some point stacking crit is gonna be less beneficial than going power. same with surge only it caps at 50 percent. personally to me alacrity is not that great of a stat for sorcerers. well maybe lightning with all the cast times, madness is all instants. alacrity dont affect HOTS or DOTS as in making them tick more often, just makes the total time lower, it doesnt lower the GCD unless the spell cast time is lower than the GCD. I havent noticed alacrity affect the cooldown on death field at all, the tool tip says its still 15 seconds where all my other spells tooltips are reduced. thought it was just a tooltip error but i timed it and it is indeed still 15 seconds and should be 14. something. so to me alacrity is the last thing i would try to gear for. to me its crit rating to a decent amount 27 or 28 percent or so, surge rating to 70 to 80 percent than straight power. that is what im looking at right now though, havent done all the maths yet to figure out when diminishing returns on some of this stuff gives less benefit than power but that is what im gonna shoot for at this time.
  12. im lightning/madness hybrid and my rotation is normally 1. death field 2. affliction 3. force lightning till wrath procs on wrath procs priority is 1. crushing darkness 2. chain lightning 3. lightning strike only if both number 1 and 2 is on cooldown. keep affliction up at all times, use death field every time it recharges.
  13. no they can still gain affection. khem val kept telling me he needed to talk to me forever on tattooine and i didnt want to go back to town or my ship to talk to him while i finished tattooine, so i did it later but he still gained affection. i noticed this also, end of taris, quesh and hoth even for me it just seemed like khem wasnt earning that much affection but i also was not getting the dialogue choices that i know gets affection from him. I wasnt getting the kill em all type of dialogue choices or die you slimy beuracrat worm type of respones that khem val loves. the story and choices got a little do goody there for a bit. maybe this is design to actually make you want to buy gifts for your companions, no idea. even now im on voss and im getting those choices again but still not very often and not every quest like normal. its kind of like they dotn expect you to be using khem at this level so they give you options that ashara or talos or andronikus might like but not khem.
  14. oh hell no. zash is gonna die for what she did to me. that little garden tool made it personal by trying to kill me. besides khem val is my buddy, you know how many times ive sacrificed him while i run away. how many times he has "died" for the cause and how long he has been my trusty meatshield. khem is gonna live in my story and zash is gonna die forever and I will find a way to torment her soul forever for trying to kill me.
  15. simply wrong about the medpack issue. that medpack you are talking about anyone can use. the blue medpacks are what heals and has a heal over time affect attached to it. anyone can use them. the purple medpacks just have a upfront heal, the only benefit is they are reusable. the blue medkits heal for more and anyone can use them, just have to buy them from a biochemist. I never once called for a slicing nerf, didnt have slicing, have never had it, but i heard from many in my guild that had slicing and they were ranting and raving about how much money they were making off slicing to the poitn where quite frankly i wasnt surprised it took a hit. they all still have slicing though and many of them have stated the nerf wasnt all that bad, they are still making tons of credits off slicing plus having mission discoveries, augments and whatever else it offers. biochem is not required for end game pvp or pve, no more than alchemy was required in wow. for what medpaks and stims, you can buy them off vendors or have a biochemist make them for you. it just requires upkeep which if you have a money making skill like slicing that upkeep is nothing. i have sunk about 400k credits into biochem, ive made none, not one single credit off biochem so far. sure ive got reusable things but i have not actually sold one single item from biochem yet, mainly because the reusables cant be used and the blues are just too expensive for me to make i know i wont get my moneys worth selling them. i didnt get it to make money though, i got it to supply my guild with items for raiding. biochem is basically having no effect on the ingame economy, the only items you can sell really are the implants at level 50. i know a guy in my guild that is selling those but for the mat requirements it is kind of low profit. 50k sell for 35 k mat cost for the tier 6 crafting mats. biochemist are not getting unbelievably rich off biochem, believe what you want but there were people that took slicing early and worked it up that was able to buy everything their character ever needed.
  16. well if everyone goes biochem then nobody will be able to get certain stuff, like augments unless those are sold somewhere. mods while leveling without having to spend all your commendations on mods instead of gear for you or your companions. i agree though that things need to be added for other crafting professions for endgame stuff. this plagued wow for years, i was a blacksmith and blacksmithing was useless for endgame till socketed items came out, then blacksmith got useful for end game stuff. taking away biochems perks is not the way to go abotu this though. biochem is pretty well balanced out, the others maybe not so much. i think all this talk of switching to biochem is just a kneejerk reaction by the playerbase though and most of it is talk, not actually happening just trying to get bioware to cave in and nerf biochem and most of it done by slicers that arent multibillionares now.
  17. ok Ive been seeing these threads for a while. apparantly all the slicers lost their monopoly on having all the money in the game so they are going to systematically attack every other crafting skill screaming for nerfs until bioware either tells them to shut up or pulls a blizzard and gives in to them. now I can understand why slicers are upset, it is never fun to have your skills nerfed. But slicing wasnt nerfed because it was working, or it was useful. slicing was nerfed because it had the potential to wreck the economy, not because it was useful. slicing is useful now, you get augments, missions, money plus who else knows but its not gamebreaking anymore. now biochem, yeah it might be more useful than any other crafting profession, every game ever made the endgame consumable stuff is more useful, potions in wow, enchanting in wow, they eventually added other stuff to use for endgame in every other crafting profession but for so long it was alchemy and enchanting. anybody can use the stims, medpacks and stuff from biochem except the ones that never go away, those are biochem only and I do wish they would remove that tag from them so they could be sold. the simple truth is biochem wont make you any money till late game, slicing makes money and other stuff the entire time. biochem will save you money if you take the time to get those reusable stim and medpacks. the normal blue medpacks heal for more than the purple ones though, they have a upfront heal and a heal over time component and are perfectly viable for endgame raiding and pvp. biochem dont need a nerf, they either need to give something to the other crafting skills so they have a niche for endgame. i can see keeping the requirement for the reusable pack as biochem only because that is a perk for the biochemist, anyone can use the green packs and stims and the blue ones, the artifact level are just a perk, and its not like they gain any more benefits from being artifact quality other than being reusable.
  18. simple to fix, dont pay those prices. so doesnt matter. btw if that was a ingame price, then that is a credit seller doing that, not a real player. they get someone to put up a stupid little item like that for a outrageous price which happens to be the amount of credits that person bought and voila they buy the item and the credits go to the buyers. they do this to try to avoid getting the money caught by sending it in the mail.
  19. when i was full lightning specced i had plenty of damage where i didnt have to heal that often, mainly on elites when they got down to half health and multiple strongs. it worked pretty well however last night i switched to a hybrid lightning/madness build and i havent healed since. matter of fact the build is so high in damage khem val cant hold threat anymore so when i got the healer companion i started using him and just tanking everythign myself. 2 or 3 strongs dont matter, two elites dont matter. havent tried 3 elites yet but two are not a problem as long as i bubble myself. so i geuss it depends on your spec, lightning still does good damage imo, but you will have to heal some because of the cast times. the build i got everythign is instant cast, the only cast time i have is force lightning and that is normally at 1.5 seconds instead of 3. so far im loving the build and its not even maxed out yet because im not 50.
  20. no its pretty much a horrible interface. but give it some time, im sure they will get around to it, but for right now it does work and there are more pressing problems. whoever designed it though and whoever signed off on it seriously needs to be asked *** were you thinking or smoking.
  21. i wont go back to wow, since they sent me that letter that says my account was banned for gold farming 6 months after i cancelled the account. there is no way i was actually gold farming on my toon, since when i played i was perpetually broke and then six months later im gold farming. screw them, all for a ploy to get me to buy a authenticator from them so they gave away my account info to a gold farmer, no thanks.
  22. that is almost funny. although im sure it is highly annoying to you. still kind of funny. but yeah when it says return to airlock, just return to the airlock, dont go talking to anyone. ive never done it myself because generally i just run back to the ship the normal way and i get the cutscene. see what happens when you try to save time, lol jk.
  23. yes wow did a lot of great things for this industry. wow also did alot of bad things for this industry. things like cross server dungeon finders and raid finders. gearscore. threat and dps meters. rampant addons that allow people to send you keyloggers and viruses. but the main thing wow did that was bad for this industry was making a game so mindnumbingly easy. too many games feel they have to do this to compete. wow isnt a game anymore, there is no challenge to it whatsoever. you have addons that tell you everything to do, they restricted gameplay to just two or three buttons with cata and the way it looks next xpac you will just need to hit one button over and over (slight exaggeration but not by much). im sure in two more years wow will be log in, put virtual coin in virtual slot machine, get purple. two years after that it will be log in get purple. two years after that they will be giving you purples even when you dont play the game and are not logged in, somewhere in that time frame they are just gonna start you at max level because well leveling isnt important in their game, why do it. things wow did right---- polished gameplay, character animations match with cast times, quest based gameplay and not just grind monsters for exp all day. allowed people to play while solo instead of having to group up for every single thing. go kill ten rats in everquest you had to find a group because those were some scary rats that would kill you.
  24. its why the have respecs. want to find a group respec to tank for the flashpoint. then respec back to dps. the only problem with that is having to have two different sets of gear. but most people wont do that, they will try to tank in their dps gear and heal in their tank gear. which is the biggest reason i dont like dual spec. most people wont gear out multiple specs but still think they should be invited.
  25. dont group with those people. um make your own groups and kick people that do that. spell out the loot rules in the very beginning. join a guild to run with. run with friends that dont do this. so many solutions to this. or better yet, most of the time the gear from flashpoint dont matter for your main, it will be replaced in a couple of levels so its better for companions anyway.
