  1. So instead of making a new threat, I'll just post agreement with the OP here. I just hit 75 on my Assassin and to say I feel let down is an understatement. No shiney new ability at the trainer waiting for me when I dinged to 75. So, like, you mean to tell me the last thing I got was this? This friggin AOE that's not even as good as the one I've been using since like level 4!?!? All that character development, all that buildup....and we get slapped in the face right at the finish line. Who thought this was a good idea?

  3. I'm glad the Original Trilogy was made in the 70's and 80's. Today it would probably be a really lame politically correct hack set of films. Oh yeah, like the Prequels were! Let me jog a few things down from memory here. Evil Sexist Empire: 1. There are NO female Imperials. Not a single one. In the Fleet or Stormtrooper corps. 2. They blow up a planet filled with billions of people...just because they can. It gained them absolutely nothing. All they got was an upset Princess Lia. Not only that, but not a single Imperial, from officers to the gunnery crews, showed even the slightest regret, trepidation, or hesitation about doing it. Just another day at the office for our Evil Imps! 3. When they find the location of the Rebel Base, instead of capturing the base as we all know they could, they opt to, you guessed it; try blowing up the ENTIRE planet of Yavin IV. 4. They torture Han Solo with a big future electro-shock machine, for absolutely NO reason. They don't even ask him questions or interrogate him. Once again, just because they are so evil. 5. Because Luke Skywalkers adopted parents bought droids the Empire happened to be looking for, even though the Empire knew they had absolutely no idea of their significance, they are dragged outside of their home and burnt alive. Nothing is left of them but smoking skeletons by the time our hero arrives. If they wanted the droids, why not just hold them for ransom and force Luke to trade the droids for his parents? Nope, that wouldn't be EVIL enough. Just kill them, just because, even if it gains the Empire absolutely no tactical advantage. 6. Vader. Nuff said. If you screw up and make a mistake, he chokes you to DEATH in-front of your own people. Hell he probably did this to people just because he didn't like the look on their face. And NOBODY says a word about it, certainly not the Imperial commanders who just lost a good officer. 7. Emperor. Really, nuff said. The guy is evil incarnate. He makes Hitler look like a Boy Scout. Star Wars General Sexism: 1. Han Solo constantly demeaning Lea, a Princess and Rebellion asset, with sexist demeaning dismissive terms like "Sure your Highness" and other quips. He even corners Lea in the hallway on Hoth and engages in a conversation that, by today's standards, would be sexual harassment. Note: Most of this takes place on the job. 2. Lando Calrissian. Same deal pretty much. He hits on Lea blatantly from minute one, and doesn't let up. He doesn't even know/care who she is. He completely objectifies her based on nothing but her looks alone. 3. Mon Mothma. Hey a female in Star Wars that's actually in a position of power! Well, she has about 4 lines and is only seen once during the entire trilogy. The Emperor and Vader get 20X the exposure. The message here is female leaders just aren't interesting. 4. Lea's "Slave Girl" outfit scene. A man in her position would be thrown in a jail cell. She's forced to wear dental floss and be demeaned by Jabba the Hutt as he humiliates her and licks her with his grossness in front of everyone. 5. General lack of representation. Females can be Princesses or a political leader. But they cannot fight with the troops. They cannot serve in the Fleet's. They cannot pilot a ship. They're never the hero. They CAN dance however, provided they dress sexy. Honorable Mention - Racist Robots That's right folks. AI in Star Wars is so good, robots can actually form racist opinions all on their own. As illustrated by C3PO's statement: "I can't abide those Jawas. Disgusting creatures!" LOL, I mean..come on! How awesome was that? Racist robots! Now if I left any out, feel free to chime in guys. But to the OP, I mean seriously, what Star Wars movies were you watching? The important thing here is that most of these were done on purpose as a method of storytelling. Much as SwTor does. By my thinking, SWTOR is more politically correct and sensitive to women than Star Wars ever was.
  4. Certainly stronger than Ashara Zavros who sells out all of her beliefs and Jedi ethics simply because you shock her a few times lol. She doesn't even try to fight.
  5. Might be the problem right there. This is a video game. We do not WANT political correctness in video games. Gender equality? My female Inquisitor is one of the most powerful members of the Empire. Moffs bow when I walk past, and when I talk, they say "Yes my LORD" or else. If that's not equality, I don't know what is There's no glass ceiling here. I appreciate that you're an advocate for a special interest. That's all well and noble. But, no offense, maybe take that passion and commitment and stow it when playing a science fiction MMO? The fact that SwTor has provoked this response, while other MMO's don't, is a good indication that they were successful in getting an emotional response from the player. That's why SwTor is so unique, and why it HAS advanced the art form of video games. In WoW or other games, you blindly hit "accept quest" without a care of the consequences because there are none. You don't even bother reading the quest text half the time. It's always the same (kill x number of kobolds, deliver package to y) with no impact at all on anything. Not even your characters mental state or beliefs. In SwTor your choices matter. It's an MMORPG because we've finally gotten back to the "role playing" aspect. Something that's been neglected for too long. I've done things and made choices playing my Sith Inquisitor that have made me feel real genuine emotions. I once had to choose between 100 Dark Side points or murdering someone who's only crime was helping me. And dooming the rest of his group to a slower similar fate. I was amazed to feel real genuine conflict over this decision, and even a little bit of self loathing when it was made. In a video game!? I'm 34 years old. I have played everything, done everything, and you could say I'm jaded at this point. Games haven't been "real" for me in a very long time. But when SwTor makes me do a double take and evaluate my moral fiber because of something I've done....well that's just amazing. BioWare should be praised for truly breaking new ground on a game of this scale. I'm sorry they hit a nerve. But it sounds like you want censorship, and I cannot abide that no matter how eloquently you hide behind the "children" who might be playing. Or your girlfriends who might be offended. Or what Forbes, a known socially Conservative publication, feels about it.
  6. We've already established that this quest can be done as Shieldtech. Re-affirming that does nothing for this discussion. That's not the point. There are other spec's and trees in the BH class, and I feel having to respect to ST or getting help to do it proves this quest is poorly tuned. It also has several annoying bugs. Totally not worth freaking out and quitting over though lol.
  7. Okay I dunno what's going on with this thread with all the trolling, flaming of the OP, and bashing of WoW and all "new" MMO players...but the simple fact is this quest is poorly tuned. Yes you can get help. Yes it can be done with good gear, RNG luck, or the right setup. But that doesn't change the fact that it's a poorly tuned quest. We can solo an ENTIRE ship full of Republic troops, even the Elite/Champion level mobs, but we fail on the last two "strong" door guards? Something isn't tuned right there at all, and you know it. I was frustrated with this quest too and a guildy just happened to help me out. I've been playing MMO's since the "good old days" of UO etc etc. So I think I'm a pretty good player at these types of games. I'm not going to cancel or hate the game because I had to get help...but there's something to be said for immersion and story. I feel having to get help on this quest ruined the overall sense of accomplishment and lessened the feel of an otherwise great class storyline. I soloed EVERY class quest up to that point, and it was frustrating that at the hour of my finest moment, I was left with no choice but to ask for help. So in summation, how do we know if a quest is poorly tuned? Simple! If you have to change specs just for a quest, or if you have to get help for a designated solo quest, it's poorly tuned.
  8. Spell management wise, this game at launch is already as complicated as WoW is after 7+ years of development and expansions. I completely agree with the OP. It's not just that there are way too many things to keybind alone, but that we have so many with NO macro system in the game that's the real issue. Bounty Hunter appears to be the absolute WORST offender of the bunch. We literally have more binds than there are bars to put them on. Come on, what is the deal with that?
  9. What? We already have 30 skills to keybind as it is! Let's not talk about adding more just yet please.
  10. /signed!! Sick of every Force User having more mobility than me when I have a freaking JET PACK strapped to my back. Since I spec'ed out of Shieldtech my mobility has been terrible and underpowered compared to almost every class. We should not have to go deep into the tanking tree to get something that's supposed to be innately Bounty Hunter.
  11. I think the Devs took the easy way out by having both BH classes use blasters. I always felt Powertech was patterned after the iconic Mandalorian armored Boba Fett character we know and love. Heavy Armor? - check Jetback? - check Flamethrower? - check Arm fired grappling hook? - check Carbine? - FAIL! Too late now I guess. But Powertech should have been built around the carbine. In every scene that's what he's holding! (Don't any of you dare bring up the prequel Boba Fett, what a travesty) Hey Devs. If it has a stock on it, it's NOT a pistol! http://images.wikia.com/starwars/images/5/58/BobaFettMain2.jpg
  12. I too struggled with Mako as did the OP, until I realized something. Ask yourself what's more important; your enjoyment of the game, or Mako's? Companion gifts are the key to your freedom. Be the evil merciless bastard that you truly want to be in your heart. If she has a problem with it, put her in her place and tell her to shut up. You'll be able to buy her love and make her forget all about that mass grave of marks that you've left in your wake anyway.
  13. Not saying I totally agree with him, but Powertech being a "melee Bounty Hunter" doesn't quite feel right from a story/lore perspective. There's already 20 million people running around meleeing with their Light Sabers in SWtor, I hate that we're adding to that. Seems like the LAST thing you would want to do as a BH is fight a Jedi on their terms; in melee range. Powertech is fun and effective atm, don't get me wrong. But it could have been so much more unique.
  14. It seems to me that in a game with so few healers, that if you pick an adv class that can heal, you WILL end up being a healer a lot. So for me, that sealed the deal for going Powertech. I didn't make a BH to play nurse.
