A long-time Star Wars: Galaxies player reviews TOR.

I agree. Do you remember SWG, before there were speeders, and you got to walk everywhere? Remember how the terrain would slow you down, if you didn't take some scouting? "Sigh" good times. -
32. I play as much as I can get away with (wife, and baby on the way). This is generally about 1-2 hours/day, so I guess about 10-14 hours/week. Still having a blast.

I play both sides of the fence. This is mainly because I really wanted to play Alliance, but my guild insisted on being evil for a change, so I rolled a BH. I've made 7 of my 8 slots so far. They are as follows: Bounty Hunter - Mercenary Sith Inquisitor - Assassin Sith Warrior - Juggernaut Imperial Agent - Sniper Trooper - Vanguard Jedi Consular - Sage Smuggler - Scoundrel I actually split my time evenly through both sides. This is probably counter productive, but I am having a blast. I really enjoy the challenge of the Alliance, since it seems about 2/3 of players are Sith.

I love this game! Excellent immersive storylines. It is great. I think it will be fine. Even if some of the naysayers leave, there will be plenty more new gamers to take up the game in their place.

I completely agree with the OP, and this. If my bad to the bone bounty hunter wants to take a time out from shooting people in the face, and style some fabulous hair - well then I should be able to do that. At very least someone should. It would also create some player interaction! Wouldn't that be great? -
I love this game as well. I agree with the OP. There are a lot of players who enjoy the game, that do not take to the forums. I guess we're all too busy actually playing the game, and having fun, to flood the forums with redundant complaints. Truthfully, I only hit the forums while I am at work (as it gives me a Star Wars fix until I get home). However, it's true what the OP stated. Negativety only breeds negativety. These forums have more Trolls than WoW. Obviously, with new patches/updates, and SWTOR being a new game, there are bound to be bugs that need to be addressed. I, for one, would like to think that as a dedicated fan-base we will be tolerant and understanding of this. Bottom line - it is this fan-base that BW should cater too. If people want to leave, that is there choice. BW will care not. They already have the $60 that these missing players shelled out for the game, and, as an infant game, many new players will join the fold. Personally, I think this game has some staying power. I guess we'll see.

So was he merely "lucky" against Grievous too? Grievous had him beat as well. He just happened to be "lucky" that there was a blaster handy.

Nice! First one is Sask. Regina, SK here. Anyone else from Regina? There are a bunch of us from Sask on Rakata Mind Prison, and our guild (Storm Wraiths) is comprised of people from Sask/Alberta.

Play a darkside Bounty Hunter before you assume.

I am a DS Bounty Hunter. I shoot people just for the fun of it... but hey, that's just me. I agree with the OP though. "Most" of the DS choices involve keeping to your original contract, while others just seem to fit with the cool professionalism of a BH. There has been the odd time though where I choose the DS just to hear the npc's grovel. -
Excellent responses guys. This is exactly the sort of constructive discussion I was after. I realized I forgot to add my opinion on the two. Things I liked better from SWG: Free World Roaming (I'm not really a keep on the path kinda person) Early Speeder Availability (I have limited play time each day. Running is a waste of my efforts). Just About the Best Damn Crafting Model of Any Game (Tell me I'm wrong) Player Driven Economy (Made it enjoyable to play a crafter) Player Owned Housing/Ships (I can only hold so much swag in my inventory) Things I like better in SWTOR: Immersive Storylines with a True Star Wars Feel (this is one thing that was missing from SWG) Obviously, Graphics/Detail (wonderful) Different PVP options/war-zones (Although they need to work on some banding - new characters shouldn't be fighting fully-kitted 50's) Just my humble opinions. This game is great though, and I am sure it will only continue to get better.

I'm not going to ask which is better. They are two different beasts. However, I know a lot of you played SWG. I was just wondering if we could do a thread comparing the two. Which aspects of which game do you like better, etc? Maybe, what would you like to see added?

Love it. Like many of you, I played SWG from launch, and well into the bastardization of the NGE. After that I tried other MMO's... WoW, AoC, CoH, Star Trek, EVE, Rift, Champions... just to name a few. However, there was always something missing from my experience. I'm a big Star Wars fan, and I gotta say that SWG ruined me for other games. In a lot of ways it was well ahead of its times, and when it was gone it left a huge void. I guess I have been looking for a genuine Star Wars experience since then. Truly, I feel I have found it here. Granted there are some bugs that need to be ironed out, but what game doesn't have growing pains right after launch? Obivously, I would like to see some of the positive suggestions added to this game, but in the mean time I will enjoy the immersive stories. I can definitely see myself sticking with this game. Oh, and I, too, am an alt-aholic.

I, for one, am a casual gamer. I only play for an hour, or so, at a time. Therefore, I appreciate the benefits of rest xp. I would like to be able to play with my guildies one day. Oh, and my highest characters are 17,11, and 5. 8)
