  1. marauders are fine, all classess have a hard time in pvp untill they reach a certain level, which depends on class and spec. A pvp tank jugg starts to work right at 33 A healing merc starts to work well at 27 A deception assassin starts to work at 22 (23? cant remember off hand) A MM sniper starts to fall into stride at 32 A marauder doesn't work till 40
  2. You really shouldnt be havig any trouble on DK Leap into group Smash group kill group On hards just use ravage Dont bother trying to pvp at low levels

    Scoundrel Is a Joke

nerf imo i dont care if they suck, they need to continue being nerfed forever because once on voss one knocked me down and i was dead before i could stand up. the giggling is a huge buff by the way, you have no idea how infuriating it is to be trying to kill a scoundrel healer with a cape on whos running around and kicks you then suddenly someone puts a bubble on it and guard and it laughs while its hots are ticking it up faster than your taunted guarded bubbled damage can kill them. I hate them. They are the one thing in this game that upsets me.
  4. Who wants to pve in this game? Its terrible. pve exists to get some gear for your pvp set.
  5. Its kind of like how you get social points for grouping for solo content, and almost none for group content. I think to get objective points in huttball you have to kill the ball carrier, so if the enemy team doesn't get the ball, you cant get any objective points. So in order to get the most objective points you have to play sloppily and mess up a bunch and barely win in the end. Or better yet, lose. Losing is the objective in huttball, remember that.
  6. No dont, its one of the things i like about this game, it brings all aspects of gear acquisition, pvp, pve, and crafting, into making the ultimate set of gear. If you want the master set you should master all aspects of the game.

    Is SWTOR dying?

A lot of things were better in beta. I think they lost the polished build a few builds before release. 3 builds before release was high point of the game i think.
  8. But i want to wear worse gear to prove myself. You know, like a useless axe of the pit.
  9. Just remove premades alltogeather Track peoples stats An average player will have a 50% win/loss in a pure random enviornment. More, youre a helper Worse, you need work
  10. my merc healer could keep one friendly alive vs one dps easily.

    Weak buff in WZ

I dont understand why its in the 50 warzone
  12. I would be neat if the game was skill based enough that higher ranked players could go around in WORSE gear just to prove how awesome they are. Id kill for an mmo where gear accounted for ~10% of your overall performance.
  13. Thats the assumption i was operating under Now if this is satire of satire, then i dun goofed.
  14. Well yeah, my central 'thing to fight over' wouldnt have been some annoying chest spawn, particularly since if people are fighting over them they are finishing their quests with out having to click the chests. Remove the other points, make the central area control give you a massive valor bonus, but make it so that the other side also gets a valor bonus when fighting in/around the central area. Then make valor more interesting. Maybe let people physically spend it on cosmetic stuff. We just agreed that bioware doesn't know what they are doing, so i dont see what them admitting anything about ilum really means
  15. No. MM sniper is the third best pvp damage class in this game, behind deception assassin and anni marauder. They all share the same quality of hardly anybody knowing how to play them.
  16. But this is just why the idea of perfectly even competitive pvp in an mmo just doesnt work with the genre. If a well geared players almost dies to a badly geared player but still wins. They both know who was the better player. The under geared player won even if he lost. The well geared player knows he needs to work harder now because hes slipping and that under geared player is just going to destroy him when he gets well geared too.
  17. Which is why i say 'competitive pvp' is just something semi-casuals do to feel superior to the regular casuals. If your primary motivation is not improving your skill for the pure sake of being better at the game and the joy in knowing you are among the best players, you are some flavor of casual. That would kill the mmorpg aspect of the game, where gear and planning and stuff is important. I dont think there should be pvp gear though. I would prefer a system like daoc where crafters made all the best gear and people would just order a set of gear, tailor made with the stat setup they want, and wear that. Everyone had more or less the same potential total gear worth. With some crazy overcharges thrown in occasionally It would be good for pvp and hardcore crafters alike. As far as valor, i would say it should only give visual bonuses, but i honestly dont even seen the need for valor if its just something you grind, it cant be used as any sort of reasonable measure in its current state. You could say seeing someone whos BM should imply that they have pvpd enough that they aught to know what they are doing at least, but sadly that doesn't really mean that I would rather see even cosmetic pvp stuff be based on your average performance
  18. Look at WAR. They had objectives everywhere and people just swapped objectives. You need to force people to fight, not just play musical objectives. You do this by having one central thing to fight over. In ilums case its the box spawns at the center. Now, they totaly screwed that part up. But if they could replace the boxes in the center with something people actually cared about other than during off hours then they would be golden. Its biowares fault for opening the extra servers in the first place, they should have told people to just sit tight for a few weeks until the populations drop some. But it is secondarily the fault of the people. I picked a server i knew would be full and balanced, and it is. Sort of like, if you give a suicidal person a gun and they shoot themselves, yeah, its your fault, but its also their fault.
  19. The goal should be in mastering the system though, thats the goal of any game. The ultimate point of pvp in an mmo is proving you are better. You can prove you're better while losing by losing slower than people would have expected you to. The reason i like class based systems over skill based systems, is that fixed classes give you a set of strengths and weaknesses you must adapt to and learn to use properly. Rerolling for fotm just destroys this entire dynamic. So whos better, the guy who wins all the time with the current fotm, or the guy who wins half the time with the class everyone else has given up on? Its amateurish to play against your opponent, if you are serious you are playing against yourself.
  20. It got me cosmic one-ness and the inability to get upset or angry on the internet. Instead i go through life with a slight grin and perpetual amusement. After what ive done i cant really take any of the complaints or concerns over a game like this seriously. It will just be whatever it is.
  21. come roll on a server with good population and good faction balance. whats wrong with ilum? There are regularly ops vs ops fights on my server. And its pretty much the way open world rvr has always worked from daoc on up. You try and make the other zerg string out so you can slaughter them and farm them for points. Thats really all its ever been As far as group vs group, instanced warzones have replaced that. Maybe its a bad thing, but you aren't going to have a small group of players roaming around in this era when they can queue instead
  22. Only because they make it so easy to reroll in these modern games. I really wish they would fix that.

    Is SWTOR dying?

The servers they opened up post release to satisfy the queue complainers are, as expected by me and everyone else who understood how mmo launches work. My server has good population and faction balance.
  24. Because RNG is just a code word for 'i want it faster'. Its more dignified to say you want it non random though. When they convert it to non random average time equivalence though people see that now its 1. Just as hard 2. They cant pretend to be complaining about the random nature of it anymore so they become extra irritated
