  1. Also, as a new player i find ship class names confusing - i say Scouts are need to be named Interceptors. With top tier anti-ship armaments they are everything but actual scouts.
  2. Verain, thank you for thorough answer, i found bomber to be best bet against scouts, but more like "help your scouts deal with theirs" itstead of being a counter. Can you please specify a girl/boy/baby bomber? Im running premium bomber now, stacking requisition to buy another one, probably type 3.
  3. Resubbed to try GSF and after 50+ games i haven't found a single reason not to play Flash/Sting. Is there any counter to them? It's really getting boring.

  5. Thanks for the input everybody! I think we have developers attention to this thread by now, so i just throw some facts in here: 1) This game desperatly needs new PvP content. Same 3 WZ again and again become boring very soon, and when you get all BM gear you need, there is no more reason to play. Some may say you can play for fun, but it's again same WZ, so fun factor is pretty much unexistant. When Bio implement rated WZ, guess what - it's still be same WZ again and again. Im not sayin' for everyone, but "LET'S PLAY HUTTBALL!" phrase makes me vomit already. Also, we better forget that giant pile of fail that is Ilum as soon as possible. 2) Game also needs new PvP reward system. Right now it rewards players no matter what have they done towards team's victory. Heck, it even rewars mindless medal farming way more than doing objectives. And it's not even mentioning those who AFK for entire match but still get their top gear. This needs to be changed asap. 3) When rated WZ finally are implemented, it means that developers have matchmaking and rating systems up and running. This, in turn, means that pretty much all framework required to introduce arena is done. Throw in 3-4 arena maps and we're good to go. I suggest a tatooine map (that water things as a LoS objects), a frozen map aka Ilum (frozen pillars) and an urban map aka NarShaada. 4) According to this thread and many others, as soon as players not forced to play arena, there is no reason not to implement it apart from posts like "Arena is bad, i heard that somewhere" So put this facts together and do the right thing, Bioware. Give us arena and PvP playerbase will be grateful.
  6. It's MMO, and MMO is always is about getting new gear. Getting gear from arena/rated WZ is like getting gear from HM/nightmare raids. You make effort, you get gear. Nothing's wrong with that. Your arguments is very like of those who scream "Remove experise", which is not gonna happen. If your class is OP in arena, it means that its OP in a one "purely clean" team pvp situation that game is being balanced to. Which in turn means it's OP and require nerfing, even if pve-scrubs won't like it. SImple like that. Blizzard turned down to PvE'ers and forgot about PvP balance. It turned out into death of PvP and situtation that is reflected in that arenastat links someone posted. If you want same happen here in SWTOR then sorry, not gonna happen.
  7. Yep, it's a mirror situration. But, if your class is OP in arena it means just that - your class is OP. So when it's nerfed it may seem like your class is being "screwed because of arena", but for the rest of us your class was rightfully brought down in line. Oh God, again. YOU ARE NOT FORCED TO PLAY ARENA. GET YOUR GEAR FROM RATED WZ IF YOU WANT TO.
  8. What makes PvE balance more important than PvP balance? And as for PvP balance, if game is balanced for a team play, there is no more balanced team PvP than arena, because, as i said in 1st post, arena match is going in a situation without outside buffs, stims,adrenals and terrain gimmicks like fires or acid pits. It's not perfect, but you won't get better statisitcs anywhere.
  9. Im goin' to start being rude here. Once again: YOU'RE NOT FORCED TO PLAY ARENA IF YOU DON'T WANT TO. Stick with your PvE-sluggish rated WZ. As for rewards - we can return to discuss them when arena implemented. One thing is clear though - rewards should be given to players who earned them, not just to anyone. It's MMO guys, MMO's are always about gear carrot-on-a-stick.
  10. When they invested time and effort into balancing, arena was a wonder. Then they left WoW in a hands of incompetent freaks with a Ghostcrawler as a leader, made "EVERYONE MUST BE VIABLE IN PVE" as their moto, and ruined pvp in WoW for good. In WoW in took 1800 rating to get most of your PvP set, which is easy as pie. After that, even you face fully geared team, you too are missing just 1-2 pieces of gear, which is not that much a difference. Also even if you just started to arena but you've made your homework and get all the gear you can get from the regular WZ, you're not that far behind it terms of a gear. Take a look on Champion and Battlemaster gear - difference is marginal.
  11. Not solely from arena, but from rated WZ too. Play what you want, just dont give best possible gear to anyone herp-derping in a regular WZ. Again, not only arena. As for BLIZZARD SAID ARENA IS BAD LOLOLZ argument, it's getting old. What Blizzard really said, is if they'd know what arena would be, they would do many things other way. And they're right: First and foremost PvE and PvP should be set completely apart. No PvE gear in PvP and vice versa, some abilities and damage should be different in PvP and PvE. As an example - CC's 1 minute in PvE and 6 sec in PvP. The trauma mechanic, which is made to balance healers different in PvP and PvE and so on. But that's a topic for another thread. As i said in 1st post, as long as every class have a comp where it can play competitvely, everything is completely fine. Comps start to really matter only at highest ratings, where people play at cap of their classes capabilities. But 99,9% of arena haters won't make it to these ratings anyway.
  12. All i see about Mordredz is a severe case of arenafobia - the irrational fear of a small-scaled PvP, based on a person's internal fear that community will see his personal rating and will know that person is, in fact, bad at PvP.
  13. You know what? The best thing about arena is that you don't like it - you don't play it. Easy as that. Gear rewards will be the same in arena and rated WZ.
  14. Sorry to burst your bubble but arena was popular enough to become an e-sport with sponsors and world tournaments. And rated BG is not even pvp, it's an entertainment for PvE-guilds to rest a bit from dragonslaying. Wetworksz Thanks for support, i just don't know a way to contact developers. So the more threads like this the higher chance they will hear us.
  15. You can farm some arena points and get the pieces of gear that don't require high ratings. Your opponents at your rating also wont have these high-rated pieces of gear as they haven't reached the nessesary rating. So the difference in gear between newcomer to arena who farmed everything he can get from regular WZ and that who play for some time but failed to get to high rating would be slight.
