  1. Under "My Account" there is: Account Creation Five Security Questions! Add a subscription plan - currently subscribed invite your friends (optional) Set up your security key (optional) Under "Manage Accounts", there are: Add new credit card Add new paypal account EA game card account I don't see the unsubscribe button anywhere, not under any of the options, do you think cancelling a subscription should fit into managing of ones account ? So how exactly and precisely do I unsubscribe ? Which menus, routes etc do I have to take to unsubscribe ? or is there a hidden button somewhere ? Thank You
  2. PvP is really messed up, the imbalances is what ultimately led me to cancel my sub. My main was a tank spec JG, FULL tank spec and FULL pvp tank gear. Not hybrid (meaning no CC immunity whatsoever), not partial geared, FULL. Needless to say it didnt work out well. Switched to shadow, way better class, much easier to play and much more viable, but now the gear grind just got to me. BM is not much of a problem but a full 2nd set of WH just turned me off so badly I canceled and joined the rest of the crowd that left for various reasons. That said, I agree with OP, but they could have done things much better, for example: Stick threat gen on Freezing Force instead of fu**ing up guardian slash for added AOE threat. Give some form of CC immunity equivalent to unremitting on a 5th piece of PvP tank gear as bonus. Give JG some extra End to equal the other tanks. ETC. They can easily accomplish their goals to change PvP and PvE without one affecting the other. Not only that, but these would actually have been small changes and requiring much less work then what they have done. But instead they just keep coming up with stupid stuff and disappointing time and time again and screwing either PvE or PvP in the process.
  3. I guess the game according to you was made only for people such as yourself. Have fun with you and your 7 TOS/EULA players left on the last remnants of the last server here which will be in about a year. BTW, I hope you or anyone else is not naive enough to think that the subscriptions are still stable and no longer falling since that public investor call where they stated they had between 500k-900k, I have 6 50s, in 3 different guilds, all suffering from losing players since the server merge, even after I switched my main to another guild, same scenario. The server merge is wearing as thin as the hype of open beta weekends and pre-launch marketing BS. O, I did vote with my wallet, so to you and yours delight, I am joining those who have bailed which is a real shame because I am huge fan of Star Wars and love playing MMOs. The amount of wasted potential of what it could be and what it is in this game is staggering, just simply staggering. EA has failed completely to capitalize on both Star Wars and BW and on top of that BW is practically no more but a name and corp documents.
  4. PvP: Fortitude aug - 18 end / 12 pow Overkill is not as good PvE: Shielding / Absorb, can use some defense too if you're below 40% with all buffs on it.
  5. Why ? Most countries have adopted English as their international business language, its taught in grade schools. For me personally, it happens to be my 4th language. Why would anyone want to take steps backwards ?
  6. Just a silly question. If this game cant run smoothly on PCs which far outrank consoles hardware wise, what makes you think a console port will work at all ? And even if, at the pace and cost they work at, it'd probably be another half a billion USD and a decade for them to complete, dont you think something slightly better might be out by then ?
  7. OOOOO i have one !!! I have one !!!! Its called GW 2 !!! Well, its not instant, but compared to SWTOR, load times are cut down by about 20-30 times. Literally.
  8. Pretty much same here. I was actually going to spend $1200 for a new rig components next weekend on the US Labor Day sales since mine is a bit dated ( considered mid-range). In this game, I can barely keep up at lowest settings and its still very choppy. Started GW2 yesterday, have everything on mid-high settings, and its FINE !!! Beautiful game, very good framerates, so far I have been in zerg chained events with multiple hordes of centaurs and around 40-50 players and havent had a single hiccup. Not even once. Literally. Smaller groups for pvp but also very smooth. And to boot I play a thief, so lots of insta and positional closers etc. It really made me realize that its not my computer, but SWTOR, and not just that but by HOW MUCH this game is screwed up. I should also add that I experiened 2 bugs in GW2 so far. 1. Trader (GTN Equivalent) doesnt work yet to full functionality. 2. One of the skillpoint events was bugged and encounter would not actually trigger, but it is already fixed and I just did it. Nice to have minor bugs fixed in less then 24 hours. I bet they will get the trader situation squared away before game goes store retail too. Try that BW !!! So, that, coupled with all the bugs, pvp class imbalances, lack of current content etc, I hit the unsub button today and joined that crowd. Not to mention since I am not playing SWTOR, my comp can easily last me another year before major upgrades. Mo money in mah pocket.
  9. Things that might make me subscribe again: 1. Improved PvP class balance. 2. Better performance, less bugs, less load times etc. 3. Some sort of a "cath-up" system that would bypass at least some of the gear grind and allow me to play with friends / guildies after a pause or character switch on their current content level both PvE and PvP wise. This is currently not possible for a normal working person with a life to grind an extra set of BM to get another full WH, and another set of Rakata to get another set of Campaign. I would need to be unemployed and play this game 16 hours a day.
  10. Yup. Agree. It was meant to beat WoW. Same talent structure, same skill per level acqusition, lots of same familiar game mechanics, bigger investment to combat the years WoW has up on it. But ..... lack of basic features at launch expected per the investment, lack of focus on core gameplay issues by the devs, such as performance, UI, core mechanics, etc.
  11. I agree with the basis of this assessment. I've been playing MMOs pretty much since UO, and there are a bunch mechanics from different games which I see would be great to implement. Surprisingly, the best implimentation of such a division I found in EQ2, where tanks could literally even taunt their PvP targets and tank for real. It makes the whole dynamics different, but SOE failed at individual class balance, which as of this date I still have to unfortunately give to WoW. Its unbalanced, but at least tanks are tanks, DPS is DPS and heals are heals, not like here where tanks are sub-par DPS with sharing life pool ? The DPS are situational tanks ? and heals are either heals or also situational tanks (pending class/spec) which out-tank the tanks ? The current pvp balance is out of whack and does not follow the paradigm which has been stated by BW in various interviews. A PvE / PvP ability division and a simple restriction on warzones / pvp zones on some skills would solve a lot of problems. BW doesnt seem to get this.
  12. This article hits the nail right on the head, and reflects and restates how the investors feel. What is surprising is how well the investor feelings coincide with many players, myself included. To sum things up, the game is OK, but just OK. But it could have been REALLY the best. Players such as myself and these investors aren't disappointed with the mild success, we are disappointed and quite a bit pissed of about the wasted potential which it had and the total labor/time/financial investment which should have brought it up to rival and surpass WoW, and again, in this regard, it failed, miserably. Add to that the continuous PR BS from EA and the CEO about not calling the server merges server merges etc. and ignoring the existing core in-game issues (not talking about fluff), + layoffs which will make these issues linger even longer, and it becomes a bleak picture for the future
  13. 1. Better class / spec balance, especially in PvP. Tank classes that are more tank like vs all sorts of dmg and opponents, DPS classes that dont have tank abilities and tank survivability, healing classes that are about equal and not just 1 of them a MUST in rated WZs, etc. 2. A "catch-up" system for gear acquisition. If you switch characters, or take a break or even a long vacation, unless you are one of the people without a job or life, there is no way to jump in and play on same level with your friends due to the gear grind. Game needs some sort of a system to let people catch-up to their groups. 3. Finish the horrid UI. The initial changes are a decent start but it is so unfinished. 4. Real-time in-game functional metrics. Not this stupid POS notepad file, the real thing pls. 5. Performance improvements. Mounting / dismounting still stutters as it did in beta, there are still memory leaks so that game gets increasingly sluggish during long sessions. 6. Better camera. Dear BW, go play huttball, position yourself under a bridge, have a teammate on top at a steep angle, give yourself about 0.25 seconds to tilt up and pass, or go fight Toth Zorn as a melee tank and put your back to the wall. You'll see exactly what my beef is. 7. Larger view pane and smaller character, so we can actually see and enjoy the content instead of trying to look around the obstructions on our screens. 8. Better / SMARTER art. You dont need 1" tall edges everywhere for us to get stuck on while running and at the same time creating extra polygons to make the game run slower. And heres a question: Do the BW artists even vaguely comprehend the concepts of color and texture balance ? Also, excessive particles do not = good art, they = LAG and view obstruction. 9. Stop designing brown zones, Republic Fleet anyone ? Reminds me of playing Quake 2 on a Voodoo card, brownest game ever made running on brownest vid card ever produced ... 10. Continue character and companion story lines. 11. ADDONS. YES, THE EVIL ADDONS !!! They can and will draw in far more people then will leave as it did in the other game. The external community will grow exponentially and generate interest about SWTOR and from that come more players. That simple. 12. Dont give into the cosmetic crap, address core issues 1st then the rest, otherwise it will be like doing the legacy system when the servers needed merging. Leave the socials and stupid cosmetics and vanity crap like housing pretty hair, etc for last. Take care of key game components and make the game clean, balanced and smooth. Alas, this is just a pointless, albeit common sense, wish list which will never happen due to the decrease in funding and perhaps not enough employees left to work on any of it. Much less highly skilled thus higher paid employees.
  14. No gear or experience check for starters. They made the right call on not including it, spared a lot more people frustrations then caused them.
  15. Hi In order to play this game completely lag free and smooth you need the following: Intel i11 @ 8.9 GHZ CPU PC 68000 DDR8 Ram, 32 gigs Double 2.5TB minimum SSDs in Raid Nvidia GTX 11970 or ATI Radeon HD 12870 /w 24 GB of DDR 16 And of course some sort of a main board to accomodate all that have fun Hmm, jokes aside, if you are not using SSDs, try the following: 1. Uninstall game 2. Do a manual search on all remaining directories and registry, delete it all. 3. Run reg cleaner 4. Run chkdsk /f 5. Defrag your HD, using FULL optimization, this takes several hours, so do it overnight or when you go to work / school. 6. Download the new client available from your account page 7. Install it from that client. 8. Defrag again in about 1 week, this time using the fast options then maybe 1 time a month after that. Takes a long time, but it works.
  16. It is possible the people in charge of it were eitehr laid-off or reassigned, and are gone for the weekend. They or someone else will pick off where they left off as soon as they can.
  17. I feel for you. I am in similar situation, on PvP front our commando and sage heals quit due to huge difference between them and smuggler heals in rated. This caused a chain reaction which spilled over to PvE. Now cant run Denova HM, cant run Rateds, screwed all around, and it is equally hard to replace them. Likewise with many DPS classes / specs.
  18. The Witcher Original Director's Cut, as well as the sequel. It is made by a small studio that hasnt been swallowed by corporate giants yet. High quality game, very good very adult oriented story lines, Pure RPG awesomeness. It has multiple endings and options, required 2 playthroughs minimum on each. I did 5. Dragon Age Origins with DLCs, excellent game, sequel, mediocre. Baldur's Gate 1 and 2, Mass Effect 1 and 2. Beware, many versions of ME1 come with the securom which screws up the security on your computer. Third is dissapointing, maybe in a year if they fix it up and make it better with DLCs it will be good. KOTOR the original single player - great game. Neverwinter NIghts and the sequel.
  19. Dont listyen to him BW. Kill the servers and invest the hardware, funds into the current ones to increase / stabilize the performance. Much much better.
  20. Did you cause group wipes by having low DPS inadequate for killing bosses before enrage timer ? If so, then they have legitimate gripes. Maybe you need to run some lower tier stuff first ?
  21. Hi Legacy is meant for alts. Specifically, it focuses on people who already have a lot of 50s and many milions of credits, such as myself. Back when populations on our old servers were dropping, legacy and "alting" were the things that kept us going. For example, having 437 prescence makes your companion very OP, therefore letting you level faster / easier. Same for vehicle at lvl 10, etc. If you are on your main char, then you are supposed to go through the content via "original" means. Hence legacy will not do much for you until after you have a well established max lvl main. Working as intended.
  22. Buffs, Debuffs, including Procs need to be worked into the UI still. They made some changes to it but its only about 30% done now. They still have to work on what you mentioned, and the ability to remove / scale the target, char portraits, borders, etc. To make it all more functional.
  23. Vanguard, tank spec PvP, it does ok, but hard on resource management, it can be eitehr flowing or starved as mentioned by others. PvE it does better then PvE but can still be hard on ammo.
  24. I quit my scoundrel entirely. Reasons as follows: 1. I dont like healing after playing healer for few years in other games, want to get away from it leaving scrapper and dirty fighting specs. 2. Scrapper spec, not enough dmg / survivability for 1v1 basis, difficult to fullfill "harrasser" role, which I believe teh class/spec was designed for. 3. Dirty fighting spec, cant get into it due to the extremely clunky upper hand rotation mechanics. 4. overall clunky and unweildly cover / kneeling mechanics. Best cover mechanics you have ever done was in ME2. ME3 and this game are steps backwards.
